  1. gooo team africa! way to go tim, lovely vid.... i'll need to come to london again. ace vid man, lovin' it  hope you get your bike sorted soon! steve
  2. other info you might want to know about MK.... it has a rather large city centre, most offices and shops contained there, it is actually quite a big area, you wouldn't want to try walking about in there... and depending which area you're going to be living in, there's always a 'local centre' lying about, there's normally 1 local centre to share between 2-3 estates. then there's a few outskirts shopping centres like westcroft, kingston etc. they are currently building a newwwwwww and biggggggggg football stadium for the MK team i don't even know what they're called.... and next to that will lay the UK's biggest ASDA and IKEA... i think. lots of roundabouts.... transport: lots of roundabout...close to M1, A5, A421 etc.. for bikes....there's things called redways which is specified for pedestrians and cyclists, it has a good link to pretty much everywhere in MK, which is good. bus....depending where you live you get different bus services due the different demands etc, but a few demanding routes has loads of buses, like 15mins per bus, other less demanding are down to 20mins, 30 mins or 1hr per bus. there's coachways, and bus station and train station which you can get trains to london or birmingham, coaches to many many places like nottingham, london, X5 to cambridge and oxford.... bikeshops: only a few in the whole area, the latest being evans cycles in xscape building where im going to be going to work in, 1 halfords near train station, 1 halfords in bletchley, 1 dodgy crap 1 in shenley brook end local centre, phil corleys cycles in stacey bushes. securities: most are twats, but there's some friendly ones who doesn't really care when you're riding. police are definately very very friendly, they actually ask you to show them some 'tricks' (Y) not 1 of them i've met had tried arresting me or trying to accuse me of damaging the area. entertainment: mainly located round CMK area, its very boring indeed. hope i've helped again.. steve
  3. living there and riding there almost weekend i can almost say im quite sick of this place, as rich said, most places are the same marble ledges which does not vary, only some occasions from different designs of buildings around the area.. there are quite of a few spots if you do look around carefully..... but they ain't concentrated in 1 place so it means a lot of riding around although its normally about 2-3 mins ride from spot to spot. trials wise i can say its OK, but only just, i have been to london before which is woohoo much better, maybe its just a change of location. but not a lot of good lines you can find around in MK... although bletchley has much more lines you can find about, so its actually a better place to ride-high street, skatepark, 2 industrial estates... bmx wise there's the skatepark (creativity street) sort of park so no ramps just loads of ledges.... train station is a big flatland area with few big slopes so if you're a bit of a flatlander then thats a very good place to ride, ledges to grind/feebal do whatever, and i've seen people using the big slopes as ramps if you get enough speeds to do tabletops/tailwhip etc (any air moves really...) there's also a newly built tiny skatepark in a place call 'oldbrook' which is only 4 mins ride from bus station...has a halfpipe and tiny little ramps, but its the closest rampy skatepark to the CMK area. hope i've helped. steve
  4. whats the difference between comp 16 and the comp 24 then? they seem to be the same price.... :"> never looked at mich's before steve
  5. sorry its been sold a long long time ago... :- steve
  6. its for the rear end of my 04 Giant trials team, i have had 2.5 minions before but they were a bit tight with my old tryall rim. i now use EX721 rim, and would be nice of you to tell me which 1 you'd go for. (max grip) cheers steve
  7. lovely, i might try popping down with a few MKers steve
  8. is the the answer to the slow 'eedongilee' ?? personally it doesn't seem any better....and too long to wait! 45 secs...and it stopped at 3%... steve
  9. the video was recorded by my brand-spanking new Canon Powershot S2 IS. its a lush camera. steve :P
  10. team africa loves you. steve :shifty:
  11. ha ha! thanks to me recording it!! damn as you can hear from my voice quote: "you alright?" it didn't look so bad on the tiny screen....ah well you rode well afterwards though which is good. hope you'll be fine in the next few days because thats when the pain start kicking in properly....so you might need to take a few days off work :) steve
  12. its an old digital camera on 'night mode' with ultra slooooow shutter speed, so any slight movement would make the photo blur like a muthaf**ka.. the cameraman had shakey hands, and the rider was doing his thang, surely you can't expect any better pics than this! so solve the problem..... get a new camera with extenal flash unit that shines like the sun :( , and you need to adjust to fast shutter speed with hiiiigh ISO's... :( steve
  13. jeez timmy, thats bad.... unlucky... and yes indeed. snapped clean.... i feel for you :- so what are you planning to buy next? (and snap it..) steve
  14. something about this vid i really like, especially the beginning, the fading to black wasn't to everyone's taste, but i liked it, made the vid feel more interesting somehow. i like some camera angles too, and a variety of riding locations....very good lol. although the very last bit was a very unexpected end to the vid (Y) good job though chai, liking those photos :- steve
  15. i recommend minions or highrollers' i've used them both and never had pinch. supper grippy too. i have a Giant Trials Team 04, clearence isn't massive, im using 2.35 highrollers on D521 rim, and i need a new tyre too.... so would it be ok to fit 2.5 minions onto my D521?/ tight clearence(but it'll JUST have enough room) for the 2.5 i do like more grip  and the look of those meaty minions. :'( steve
  16. where's the macro mode on your digital camera? unlucky... steve
  17. hahaha BBC weather i trust BBC more than anything else, seems ok weather, and the silverlinks has got the morning trains a bit better... so hopefully me and few other MK riders will be there  steve
  18. sounds interesting, but wouldn't like to travel on the coach for 3 hours.... so... need to find some better travelling arrangements.... steve :(
  19. yea i used it before, but i can't find it anymore on my pc after its been formatted  and i can't find it in microsoft website.....so i'd thought i'll give something else a go.
  20. hello im just collecting some funny vids from all around my pc and decided to put together a vid....nooo and its not trials related (yet  ) but all my short clips are from my digital camera in .mpg and .avi formats. it doesn't have to be very pro, as im only playing about with it.....once i've experimented well with the software i'll start making a proper video with my new camera (canon S2 IS) yay (Y) ! thanks your help guys steve
  21. i thought he's taking his jump bike out...ha ha ha. sorry and no oxford doesn't interest me that much. :o steve
  22. hey adrian, im thinking of basingstoke, but this is going to be in the summer...when i break up from school. i have been there before but the only place i remember is the train station...don't know the place well at all as i've only been there once :( will be interested if you are up for it in the summer :o steve
  23. i think your best bet is to find someone who has a S6xx/t-rex/woodstock.... and ride them all and find out yourself which is best. though i thought Yaabaa are the old un-sold Koxx S6xx's, just resprayed and much cheaper...not too sure, never keen on those anyway... recommend a t-rex, cheaper, stronger, not as outdated. steve
  24. practice leaning back loads i suppose, make sure if you do loose the confidence you can PULL BACK not fall forwards, i think it hurts more if you fall forwards.... remember to get to the edge and lean back loads then when the front starts to drop, let go of the brake and gently give it a kick! steve
