agreed if you're after super light set up. so really depends of what you're trying to achieve.....i think most people will say 2.5 maxxis dual plys. on the back as of the front, many run 2.35 maxxis single ply's or i personally use nobby nic for a shredding a bit of weight. steve

damn right i love playing with that scale its seriously fun (and lame when you start weighing individual bits......) yer i was thinking about new pedals but i do like the size and grip of the dx's so obviously there will be a few things im keeping for personal preference and not entirely weight based...(till i find a better alternative) and yes i may well do that with the rim tape, but its just such a beaut now i just want to go out and ride it! maybe when i next get a pinch or something thanks for the great comments so far guys! steve yer i think if i have a better choice of tyres and tubes, rimtape as adam mentioned, get rid of all the lockrings and bar ends i have (to stop the grip from moving) and new pedals then definately under 9kg or maybe on the spot... steve -
noice bike. i love them echo cnc rims... i wish they were making better versions of them cos they look the tits!! steve

woaaah mod looking really nice. (so the spikey seat tube isn't as bum penetrating as the original frame only pics it seems) i agree adam the black stickers look a hell of a lot better! started building mine today hopefully get some pics up in a few days time!! seriously can't wait! steve
-
not bad not bad. personally i prefer silver forks and silver rims with that frame it seriously look the tits, but that blue isn't too bad good effort steve
-
looks like a well good ride. nice to see familiar faces... tim - sick tricks blud! steve
-
these are real nice looking. nice to see there's more on the market for the beginners out there whose just after a complete build with decent geo. steve
-
these are not cyclocross forks cos they come with v mounts...and errrr disc mounts which i don't think any cyclocross bikes will use. proper full on ultra light rigids...i can see people using these for xc comps and stuff, i mean they're pretty much 1/3 weight of like reba world cups/fox's... i'd imagine they're shatter happy too if you use it for trials...comp is a maybe but is it worth spending that much on a pair of forks you use only for comps?? steve
-
i think they were standard superstars. steve

although trials shoes are designed to have soft soles im assuming they're relatively new? give it a chance to soften up. plus your old trainers will have 'premade' holes that your pins have been digging in for a long time so it might sit better in the shoe, also depends on sole pattern... a lot of riders use the waffle type sole and find them super grippy. steve
-
tried the search and found nothing these are relatively new, its designed for more freeridey riders out there. just look simple and not like really over the top trials-specific shoes.. comes with extra padding at tongue and ankle area (not ankle protection) and velcro strap to keep the lace together..obviously will be grippy for platform pedals, but whats the thickness and stiffness of the sole like? just wondering if anyone have tried them for trials? steve
-
hahahah! better off keeping it as spares... steve
-
narr not that 1, those anodised mavic rims are freaking old skool and they should definately make them again maybe double the width too.... the guy i know still rides a cracked british racing green zero with snowflake lacing on 521 rim i think. steve

imo still the best looking bike/mod out there.. you're a very lucky person to own 1.. steve
