  1. great video to show what you've accomplished so far, I can see a bright future mate - AWESOME vid. Steve
  2. keeping it real, Ian! well done mate! Steve
  3. some silky smooth riding going down. as per usual. I watched the whole thing, enjoyed every second... GUYS THIS IS A GOOD VIDEO MAN. Steve
  4. on the subject of wipers... front blades look so much better when it's factory aero/arms, you're right, little things that make all the difference... so my rear wiper was rusty and blade was knackered so I opted for a new arm and blade, only £10, quality isn't great but it looks alright for the money. again love how it tidy the whole rear end up... before: after: while on the bay I thought I'd splash out on some cheapo centre caps... so glad to have the Golf back after some weeks.everything sorted on it and passed MOT so I'm pretty pleased (and thank seamons for helping me out with some ARB knowledge!), drives sooooo tight. yes I will look into some locking wheel nuts soon, the spacers I run use longer bolts so it's getting long locking wheel nuts.. Steve
  5. another n00b question. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Mk4-1997-2006-Front-Left-Right-Anti-Roll-Bar-Bush-Drop-Link-Kit-/330855346032?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+IV&hash=item4d0883ef70 this the correct droplinks kit I need to fit an ARB? Steve
  6. Thought about commuting Ash? There's a lovely M40 placed conveniently between the 2 cities. Might work out the same as renting out a room etc. depending on what car you run. Sorry I'm not much help. Congrats on the placement. I saw about 6 new mini hatches the other day convoying in their funky graphics! From what I can make out, they look hideous! Steve
  7. 90 with drop links, found an LCR last night anyway so all good now just need to fit it now. Cheers...! Steve
  8. There's an Eibach ARB with drop links on E38 at the moment.... not sure on size etc but will that upset the balance like you said like the 23mm ones? not sure what size they are. I assume that will clear any rubbing as well? Steve
  9. quick question guys based on MK4 Golf. ARB (sorry again I cba to scroll through loads of pages) which ones can I go for lows so it doesn't rub? TT, LCR...and anything other options..? does R32 ones fit? Desperate need to hunt one down. Steve
  10. all the dervs line up formation and create a smoke screen so everyone else behind can't overtake due to low visibility. and nah to track day ahah. not sure about Sept as I may be at Bestival, guess it depends on which weekend it falls under. Steve
  11. THAT DOG HAS A HUGE PENIS. anyway, jokes aside... good video, that is quite a desirable set up to be having in the garden! Steve
  12. if it's everyday/road use then surely just something like Pagids will do? they're more or less OEM but a hella cheaper? Steve
  13. Luke that looks awesome, when a car looks that good who cares if the reals are reps or not! Steve
  14. any electrics tech can help me at all? basically I replaced my headlamps a while back as one side was cracked, picked up a pair of cheap but in good nick and everything was fine until I tried using the Main beam. old lamp + existing old loom = all working new lamp + new loom = 1 side main beam not working new lamp + old loom that was on car = 1 side main beam not working checked the obvious and changed the bulb, I may have been unlucky and got another busted bulb whilst swapping everything over... haven't got round to changing that yet. checked all the fuses they seem ok, is there anything else I should be looking at that I've missed out on? Steve
  15. and people who can't drive post in the rest of the forum... ay Sam? Steve
  16. I'm still game for this, not sure if funding will allow karting or fun activities but as Oxford is fairly close I will probably just dash home for the night or something then come back to join the rest of the social whatever it may end up being. I'll work something out. hard to say when the weather's going to improve judging by what we're witnessing this week! probs best to just decide on a date of some sort and just commit to it whatever happens. Steve
  17. 1. TB Mansfield, ng17 2. Mike, TN34 3. Robin, Chard, TA20 4. Jardo, Plymuf, PL2 5. Spunky, Norwich NR16 6. Jolfa, Cornwall TR12 7. Rainbird, PL4 8. Dan. MK18 9. Steve MK7 ( woop dan it's going to be close to us! yep. my car's nothing to be shouting about, but I'd like to see some of your cars that I only ever see in pics! Is Alex coming? that could really f*ck sh*t up on the meet location! haha. Steve
  18. that audi is my favourite. it's got minimal attitude but by far coolest of the lot. DAMNNN I missed out. Anyone fancy some form of small TF car meet? We can all come together and bitch off/bum each other's cars IN PERSON. Could be interesting. Steve and do it dan
  19. I was going to go stancework but my golfs not got a mot and it'll be pig central there. Cars booked in on Monday though so I'll be at future meets... Shame as it'll be good to meet with some of you guys in person. And madmanmike probably ideal to take you out in my car riding on JOMs so you have a feel of what they're really like! Oh well... Steve
  20. I got some JOMs on my Golf Estate - improvement isn't vast in terms of handling but nevertheless improved over stock suspension, the ride is firm but it is pretty low at the moment, (more than -40mm drop at a guess - check the pics I uploaded around start of Feb) BUT - for road use and purely for the purpose for looks and good value for money it's pretty good. Done a few long journeys and girlfriend and mates think it's not too bouncy. I've known a few people that's had the same set for a few years and still going strong and also some mixed bad reviews out there, bit hit and miss I think with quality control but they are dirt cheap new.. I'd say for road use, go for it, it gives you the flexibility to change the ride height, springs are good mind you, but you'll wear down the standard shocks a lot quicker so depends on what condition they're in? My Fiesta had Eibachs Pro Kit's and they are a real good balance for looks and ride, the ride was hardly compromised and the performance is fairly noticeable, its just not low enough. Then again, it was already a much better chassis then my MK4 Golf so I would think it handles better.... Steve
  21. lambo is outrageous. Ferrari has a stupid name but looks amazing. like totally amazing compared to the F50/Enzo. Steve don't know why but it's reminding me of an old anime I used to watch when I was little.
  22. sweet looking bike! enjoy it mate. Steve
  23. I remember the A3's from the era had a pretty good ncap/whatever it was back in the day rating...? As the Leon and A3 are so similar they probably perform the same under crashes. Glad you got out of it with a light injuries, real shame about the car... On the topic of practicality. I'm LOVING a 5 door, and being a small estate I can put my bike in there without having the dismantle anything, just chuck it all in. I think if a car is originally designed to be a 3 door then yes it looks better in 3 door as opposed to 5, it's a similar thing with 'when hatches are turned into convertables or them CC cabriolets things' just looks weird and off proportion though there can be a couple of exceptions. Steve
  24. get Jonny Jones to make one? ha. mine doesn't get approval of any sort because it's just a golf and it's so oem its unreal - but I like it. Steve
  25. Jolfa what happened to your eyes? It's clearly a Mazda 2 I did warn you guys to look away though if you're not a fan of such 'scene'...... Steve
