Certainly can, I am the proud owner of a 307 2.0l TDi (in my gallery if you wanna look at it). And you dont need to heel and toe when driving a car normally, or even a bit faster than normal... its pointless... (Y) No smoother than just moving your foot over from the brake to the throttle to get the revs up, and anyway, you shouldnt need to get the revs up that high for the next gear down unless your driving like a twat. And even if you think Jeremy Clarkson is an idiot, he has still driven all the cars known to man, whereas noone on this forum has. Also I use the topgear site a lot because it is actually very useful, and the whole thing isnt written by Jeremy Clarkson anyway. So na

Myself and many others would probably disagree with you there, having bee attacked a number of times for no reason whatsoever.... like being distracted by one who came right up close and started shouting in my face while the others stood around, and the biggest one, who was about four years older than me comes up from behind and punches me in the back of the head... I was just waiting for a bus, and they came over. I hadnt said a word to them, I apparantly "looked" at them. Chavs will have any excuse to stop themselves feeling insecure about their tiny dicks

That statement alone shows that you dont know what youre on about... heel and toeing is useless if your approaching sharp corners at any less than 100mph. The car that you are driving wouldnt be able to rev enough for heel and toeing to even do anything anyway. I would like to hear what you think heel and toeing is, primarily so I can tell you that you know jack shit and then laugh at you

Not mine, but the Beatles, "I am the walrus": I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together. See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly. I’m crying. Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come. Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody tuesday. Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long. I am the eggman, they are the eggmen. I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob. Mister city policeman sitting Pretty little policemen in a row. See how they fly like lucy in the sky, see how they run. I’m crying, I’m crying. I’m crying, I’m crying. Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog’s eye. Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess, Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down. I am the eggman, they are the eggmen. I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob. Sitting in an english garden waiting for the sun. If the sun don’t come, you get a tan From standing in the english rain. I am the eggman, they are the eggmen. I am the walrus, goo goo g’joob g’goo goo g’joob. Expert textpert choking smokers, Don’t you thing the joker laughs at you? See how they smile like pigs in a sty, See how they snied. I’m crying. Semolina pilchard, climbing up the eiffel tower. Elementary penguin singing hari krishna. Get loads of random colours and just spray it into a big mess... it'll look good :(

Oh, It was just the stats on the VXR compared to the 911. You can search for the exact car you want, for all its stats, all the way down to the 1996 models, so its pretty good. When are you thinking of getting your dream car then? I want pics! :)
-
The tyres on the 911 will be much wider than those on the Astra VXR, expecially the rear ones seeing the as the Astra is front wheel drive. Are you going to give any other cars a test drive, because i will be interested in your opinion on them as in about five years i will be skipping merrily down the silly car route too. check this out
-
Rear wheel drive powersliding been creeping into your mind, hmm? Have you checked the prices on tyres, because the rear ones are over twice the width of normal car tyres, which would make them rather expensive... I agree-stoney grey looks rather nice. The £5k extra for the peace of mind knowing that Porsche have checked it out and it is deemed as good as new, plus the warrenty, is definately worth it! What do you want satnav for!? Ruins the look of the dash. Use a map you lazy sod! :( You should be right on the 18'2-i was looking at the bmw z4, and nearly all of the approved models had been upgraded to 18's too- i guess if your gonna spend that amount of money, you want it just how you like it. The 18's may give you a bumpier, harsher ride though.
-
I never knew that :( I thought they would be the same... seems pointless really! So... are you getting an approved one? What was the one like that you checked out yesterday?
-
Good man, manual gearbox all the way! I walk past a Boxter every day, and I've never even noticed that it has rear seats! Try and get one with a removeable hardtop rather than a soft top, if you are getting a convertable. I dont quite know how porsche do their convertables, but a hard top is always best! I could never tweak with such an expensive car! everything is designed in it like it is for a reason- stay well away! Did you go looking for Porsches in the approved porche dealears? If not why not!?

Check out the buying second hand guide on topgear.com, gives some good tips for checking out cars and history and stuff.

Unlucky dude :) On an related topic, when does the Zona Zip come out? A heard it should have been out about a month ago :) EDIT: Slower than a paralysed slug... :P

The laquer dries a lot more solid and knock resistant than the paint, hence the reason for using it :P

Has anyone read the descriptions of products on the Yaabaablacksheep site? It seems like it was written by Deng whilst he was taking copious amounts of LSD... :P

Its all a sign of insecurity. He needs to show everyone how big and hard he is when he feels threatened. I mean, how many people wear sunglasses in the dark :-

Audi is just as expensive as Mercedes you tard, and Audis are overpriced VW's, they share the same componentry just have a flashier interior. If a Porsche is what you want, get it, you can't go far wrong with Porsche. Only buy one if your entirely happy, if theres anything slightly wrong with it or something you don't like about a particular car you are looking at, don't buy it, get one that is perfect for you. It'll grate on you forver otherwise! Approved buying means gauranteed faultlessness plus warrenty, so make sure you buy approved! Really do take a quick spin in the in the rival cars before buying, if anything to make you feel even more strongly that you are making the right decision. As for the SLK AMG being a poor mans SL55, yeah, I guess so, but then the 911 is the poor mans 911 Turbo, which is the poor mans GT2, which is the poor mans GT3, which is the poor mans Carrera GT. The SLK AMG is the equivilent of the 911, NOT the Boxster, and the SL55, is about £100k making it the equivilent of the GT3. Just to finish off, I can't stress enough how much peace of mind you will get by buying an approved second hand car, so, please buy an approved car!
-
This one, although this is the normal version, not the badass AMG version:
-
IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The SLK AMG is what im talking about. dear o dear
-
Yes, thankyou for your well backed up insight, again I'll say to you that i'd rather trust the opinion of Top Gear testers over you, who probably isn't old enough to drive a car. Its funny how a "shit" car can have absolutely no faults at all over 12000 miles no isnt it???
-
Oh, sorry to hear that. :- I know I keep quoting Top Gear... but the SLK AMG thats just been released is nothing like the SL55, and the new SLK that the had for 12000 miles didnt have a singal thing go wrong with it. As for the gay thing... well gays must be rich or something to all own SL55's :) The SLK AMG is cheaper than a 911 at £50,000 new, check it out on the Top Gear site... its definately an option over a 911. I'm not trying to persuade you otherwise, the 911 is an amazing car, but if you are spending that much, you have got to try everything to avoid dissapointment at a later date
-
Are you married, or with a living with your girlfriend? if she has a clean record, put her on as the main person and be added onto her insurance, it will be a lot cheaper that way! give it a try. nationwide are very good with cheap insurance and will give you an online quote on www.nationwide.co.uk And obviously you get a boxter if you cant afford a 911... thats just obvious. top gera reckons the boxter s is 3/4 of a 911 for half the price... and the caymen looks pretty nifty too, although second hand will obviously be out of the question... But seriously... will you ever need the extra firepower of the 911? would you really be driving it to its potential? would you drive a boxter to its potential? for the price of the 911, you could have (in a few years time when they get a bit older) the mercedes amg slk! which top gear prefers the the 911!

I have to say, that skater guy is really cool
-
Oooh, ooh, just thought, visit www.topgear.com, and look at the road tests for the 911. They would have had one for over a year, and can tell you the average running costs per mile too.
-
Make sure you buy from a porsche approved dealer, warrenty is a must have when spending that much on a car. Check out here. It seems that you can pick up a 50,000 mile 996 from 98 for just over 30k. Servicing will be expensive, as with all sports cars, particularly tyres. Be prepared to be spending close to £200 per tyre. As I say, getting an approved car may cost a bit more, but the warrenty it will come with plus pre sale checks are worth it, you dont want to end up with a very large, expensive paperweight. Have you considered the Boxter S? Still good performance, but will be a lot easier on your wallet!
