Technically 110×35° hahah, but i did ride throughout the week and the bike just feels perfect, more rear wheel × front wheel control and the height makes the bike feel much more familiar to me so i think I'm gonna stick to this, the stem feels pretty solid too! Forgot to add this, surprisingly the spinny moves feel easier too maybe it's because of the height..
-
Update on the stem situation! I wanted more height and couldn't stack more than 2 spacers due to the forks coming pre-cut stock, so i got a 120×40° giving me the height of a 130mm and reach of a 110mm stem and i took the current spacers off and reduced it to one so now it acts as a 110×35° stem so no worries about the steerer tube being pre-cut either, now the bike feels just right and much more comfortable, gotta go on a proper ride tomorrow to actually see how it feels! Bonus points the stem i got from control-tech is lighter than the 90mm trial-tech but I'm unsure about the strength as it's not a trials specific brand but we'll see how it goes in the future haha (nervous laughter)
-
I still haven't ordered a 110×35, I've still been procrastinating over it lol.. Ah okay, im just used to the extra height on the front end as i rode a DJ bike as my trially for a long time!
-
A Christmas gift maybe? Lol I'm running my bars quite vertical aswell, rolled front never feels right. It's just that whenever i ride something for a while a tinkering demon in my head says it's time for some change haha.
-
Glad to hear you're doing better, that seemed like a pretty fast recovery! I'm contemplating on if i should try a 110×35° stem, the 90×35 feels comfortable for me but i think a little extra height and length should help, or maybe it's too much. (I'm 5'8 btw and preferably ride in a more trialsy way)

How's the wrist doing Dan? Hope to see you back on the bike soon!
-
I think a identiti rebate xl 1420 forks would be perfect for this bike, check it out!
-
That's sad to hear, sounds pretty bad. :/ Wishing you a fast recovery!

Wow, now that's a proper broken frame haven't seen a inspired like that in a while! Usually steel frames do look quite skinny and sleek like the arcade for example and i rode a steel DJ bike as my trials bike for years and it kept up quite well with a 203mm rotor aswell so i have a lot of trust in steel haha, but yeah we'll see how it goes in a while. I agree with the cable guide mount, it's pretty dumb to place it there but the fork was initially made for the 24" silex i suppose and they slapped it on the 26" aswell, so maybe they didn't consider that? I used a thin black ziptie to maintain the cable and that seems to work fine.
-
Awesome build, looks clean! I felt the exact way with how it rides too, the read end feels really nice and stable on the backwheel. Should last longer aswell being steel, so that's one + point! And do you mind sharing what happened with the hex? In the sense where and how it broke, curious to see where it failed!
-
Thanks Mark! Seems like the new 24" silex has a integrated headtube aswell, i think they followed inspired's path to integrated like on the arcade?
-
Thank you! I did consider a hex but inspired doesn't sell frame kits so that was a bummer. It felt safer to get a steel frame over alu anyways and the geo of silex appealed a lot to me!
-
Thank you! Probably it was to do with production of the frames maybe? A standard press fit would've been better to be honest in case we wanted to switch forks to a tapered one..
-
Thanks! It feels really stiff for a steel frame which was quite surprising and the geo makes it really nimble in the front with the 74.5° headangle while at the same time it feels extremely comfortable on the rear wheel during hops or manuals. So far I'm loving the transition out of a DJ bike to a legit street trials bike. I'll be posting some clips soon over Instagram, here's a link! https://www.instagram.com/tharun_shiv/?hl=en
