When we're talking about complete bikes, there's not only a geo to be compared, there is also at least: -cost of other parts (brakes, bars, drivetrain etc.) -strength and quality of frameset If I have to choose from this variants, I'd choose Fuse. And swapped in future rear hub to hope pro2, bars to Arcade/TTHR and brakes to something better. And also I can't ride with cut steerer tube. Ozonys bikes are too streety. TMS is too rare to talk about (no info about reliability) and too high BB i think.

A video of my friend. Awesome Street-flat. He can do absolutely everything.
-
Have no issues with threaded BBs for over 15 years.
-
Why you don't want to set Pro2 right now? It's really bombproof, I spent so much money on freewheels I could buy 2 Pro2's.
-
What difference between them instead of ability to set XC cassette? They are same reliable as PRO/SS? New QRs also 40T. Is it OK to use them in trials?
-
The video was great, one of the best (imo just the best) vid I've ever seen. I can spend $500 on MT7 but Ali already ruined a lever so fast, that's make me doubt about getting them. No doubt they're good in terms of braking, they handle Ali's riding. Also there are: Hayes Ace and Formulas but there is almost no info about using them in trials, but they must be at least not bad brakes. Also guys, what do you think about Hope levers? TECH 2 EVO or TECH 3 with trialzone caliper or just buy trialzone as it is(with trialzone levers, that is very similar to race levers).
-
A would rather say it's "hard to find" than not available. I don't get one thing, is it really no other brake that is close to saints/mt7? If Ali is running 180 rotors then there is must be some extra power margin. What I've tried: New BB7 - total crap. (maybe old ones are good) Old BB5 - pretty good brake. Avid Juicy 3 - just doesn't brake. Echo TR - maybe can be used on mod. Hope mono mini - obvious, it's so XC... Hope M4 - Better than brakes I mentioned before, but I can't even go over bars by pulling my front brake with 1 finger. Hope V4 rear - better than anything from what I've tried ever, but still I cant trust this brake my life even with 203 rotor (hopo mono6 saw). It may slip at huge gaps to rear. So I have no idea what to buy. Maybe M820? Maguras are far too expensive.
-
Seems like truth. Also Danny ride maguras too now. Same you said about saints but without alternative. Maybe you right, but maguras are really funny brakes. Most(?) expensive serial brake ever and not reliable enough for trials (weak levers). I remember days when you were trusting your life to BB7s, kek. Brakes, brakes, brakes. I know only one thing, I still can't find a brake I'll trust my life to.
-
Why not Saints? I've read somewhere on TF that you can trust only saints M810 and they're the best brakes ever made in the history of humanity.
-
Is it magura MT7 in video? Rear rotor is 180?
-
GUUUUYS, please help me already. I saw some good riders even using DEORES and it's make me totally confused, because they costs almost nothing compared to HOPEs price. I just want a good and working well brake.
-
I think there are no freewheel except of ENO and no freehub except of HOPE.
-
ОMG. What? How? Impossible.
-
This thread is f**king stupid. Interesting question: What difference between new hope and old one(instead of engagements)? New has more rolling resistance?
-
OK, I get it, if mech then BB7 with avid/shimano rotors. But what about saints and slx vs BB7? And what about "SHIMANO>HOPE"?
-
Are standard hope pads so bad? And what rotor would be best? Floating or 1-piece? Or maybe some 1-piece/icetech shimano? I'm asking because I suspect ECHO rotors to be a really bad combination with avid brakes. Or maybe ECHO rotors are just so bad by itself.
-
ОMG, man, just get HOPE/KING. There are no other hub that working so well in trials. If you want to test some and throw away a bunch of money - ok, your choice. But as Ross said it's really STUPID.
-
Well, I like BB7 and I can set it up accurately, my setup is: FR5 levers Odyssey linear cables Echo TR 180 rotors Standard pads And I've bedded them in (few weeks). But still hold and bite are disgusting. I can't trust my brakes even 1.5m gap to rear. Maybe this is unlucky combination of rotors+pads? The thing is I don't have much time and desire for all this.. I just want the best and 100% working setup (even if it would be expensive), this is why I'm asking what I'm asking. ____ I have some expirience (FR bike) with: Hope M4 / 180 and 203 - complaints of riders about bad braking power seems to be real, because you can't even block front wheel at low speed by one finger. Hope V4 / 180 and 203 - I think it may be good enough for street-trials but only with 203mm rotor. Seems to work better than M4, especially with Tech 3 lever. If I'll choose hydro I already have one rear V4 and may buy one more (or TrialZone). Or go for shimano? People praise them pretty much (most of the people I've asked said that SLX=V4 by braking power). Yep, hopes are fancy but I don't care about it, I just want reliable and powerful brake that I can trust. If BB7 can do the work I'll choose them, but I can't get why mine doesn't work well. *I'm also have an experience of using BB5(standard)/180 (with some avid rotor) and they was way better than my current BB7s. **Pads and rotors (front and rear at the same time ?) can't be contaminated because they was the only thing that is brand new on that 4play.

One of the best vid's I've ever seen.
-
But in street-trials weight doesn't matter as much as in "pure" trials?
-
I don't get one thing about BB7. If they're so good why no one (except of few riders) using them? I like "ascetic" and simple, but working well mechanisms, and we almost don't need any modulation in street-trials, but why top riders using only hydro brakes? As far as I'm not so good in trials and love huge gaps to rear I need best brakes ever, because I trust my life to them. Thank you for detailed reply. What hopes you're talking about in your comparsion?
