  1. It burns the oil away, i just took them straight out and held them with some tongs. Worked perfectly for my avid, might be best to ask someone with a hope mono trial to know whether its safe or not...
  2. I did pratically the same thing (although it was a friend with greasy fingers) yesterday. Just whack the pads over the hob for 5 mins, wash the disk with fairy liquid, and then water to remove the residue. Bed the disk in again, and off you go (Y)

    2005 Control

Pictaaaares dont work! They do now, Looks a million times nicer than the one on OTN, but still unsure about the holes. Wouldve looked better brushed.
  4. What are you lot banging on about, disk for modulation, pah! My avid has immense power! I cant handle the crapness of maggies anymore, it makes me sigh that people still use them. But eh, each to their own.

    Star Wars

I thought the older ones were a bit poopy, i like all the new funky effects n stuff. Pod racing is actually wicked. ^_^
  6. Well i shall be there, weather is set to be quite nice, hope to see people there!
  7. Hah, love the owned pictures. But, i dunno if it annoys anyone else, why do you always sign; Thanks, callum Thanks for what!?
  8. Someone didnt quite get the game "
  9. Well if the weather is good how about saturday the 21st (two saturdays from now) at 11:30! Heh, well even if you are shocking, ability doesnt matter, its just for a bit of fun, just dont listen to any of guys derogatory arrogant comments. (N)"
  10. I think he rebuilt it, not really sure why as i swear i built it right, (but hey, hes got 20 years experience under his belt).
  11. Luckily he managed to do it without replacing nipples :S and it only cost 17 quid. Nice and fast though.
  12. Well, the nipples were fine when i built it, spinny smoothly, but it was taken to the lbs, where they fiddled, and couldnt do anything, so maybe they screwed the nipples. (Y) Lube it is next time :-
  13. Would lube make a big difference? Its at a local wheelbuilder at the mo, apparently needs new nipples, and a complete rebuild, at the price of 30 pounds. :-
  14. Onza ronnie, it was brand new.... High spot was at the join indeed.
  15. Sorrying for stealing the topic, but i built my mates front wheel; laced correctly, right size spokes, everything hunky dory, but theres a nasty high spot which wont go away. Basically, no matter how tight the spokes are, the spot just will not go. Any idea whats wrong?
  16. Yeah it is, im liking it at the moment, still getting used to it, but ive always had quite low bars. Think they're about 35 inches at the mo, but im quite short so suits me fine. The CF risers on bikedock are the real deal, i havent a clue why they are so cheap. The extra wide ones are only 44 on there too. (Y)
  17. Wheres these rocks lol, (Y) i know the ones by rock a nore, but near a train station , meh. Yeah, i havent had any bother with chavs when ive been riding, normally just give em a backhop or two and they're happy.
  18. Well, i would say its pretty good, but then im not a great rider, theres quite a few CLS esque lines, which are do-able if your pretty good, and theres a few spots for the average riders, i would say a good days riding could be had if people were willing to give it a proper go. Us hastingers would lead the way, but we dont know all the best bits to ride yet, as were just getting into rail gaps etc.
  19. Looks like a beginner bike. I suppose it could be better, but oh well, we dont all have thousands to spend on Zoo's. I started on a t-bird, at the time, i loved it, i suspect i would love that if it was the bike i learned to backhop on. As long as it gets someone into the sport, then good on it.
  20. Zoo stem, onza carbon risers, loving it! Felt really weird at first, but now i cant handle high bars, just feels well dodgy. Get the onza risers from bikedock, 35 beans (Y)
  21. How can you not like smoothness? Surely thats what everyone tries to achieve anyway, going big whilst making it look effortless? I know i try. We have some good riders, but just take Koxx days 05, it blew us all away, i love ze french.
  22. Wedge + Hammer + Meaty bashing between crank and bb shell = Crank off fairly safely.
  23. Avid all the way, they rock!
  24. I much prefer 160mm cranks over the 170's. It gives the gear ratio a much more solid feel which i like, if the cranks spin too easily, it just feels weird. Saying that, 170's make gaps feel easier, but blunts harder (i think). You could always go for the middle ground ie. 165's. Mod cranks typically come in 158, (monty, try all i believe) but i would always go for 160's.
  25. I was running four stackers. Im worried for my new pair....
