Simple question: What is the best V-brake lever? I am tempted to get the XT BL-T780. If you know a better one, does it make a noticeable difference?
-
Yes, the sidewalls of the rims aren't ideal for V-Brakes but the pads wore to the round shape of the sidewalls quickly. The whole brake needs to be set up quite well to work fine for trials - but once it is, the brake bites like hell. What does "smellyment" mean? haha

I have no clue what that is, sorry

Thank you all! Really cool to hear you like it! I bought those on Ebay for just 20€ a piece!! (have two more of hem lying around ) I have a horrible taste then In case you think that rear hub is blue... It's grey with a slight touch of blue (called gunsmoke-grey) and I love that. Especially in combination with the grey frame.

Hmm, sounds like I learned it a little differently. I never used endos to get on the rear, I always used pedal kicks and picked this technique up quite quickly. But it's like driving cars.. after some months you look back onto how you did it months ago and it looks retarted to yourself
-
I'd say don't try to lean back more to get over the rear tyre but try to push the rear wheel foreward with a pedal kick to get it underneath you. You can then start hopping foreward for the start... at least that's what I did in he beginning. and yeah.. practise, practise, practise

Been building my bike up for one and a half years and I'm quite happy with it now. It started as a stock Element 2012. That "Play Loud" sticker originally sticked on an album of The Black Keys I hope you like it

I've already watched the Imaginate videos a while ago and saw the practising with mats and stuff.. would absolutely do it if I could practise like that.
-
would be quite an attracting announcement though gonna have a ride in the heat now and look for something like a loop in town
-
I'll do it! But I'm from germany

Certain bikes and geometries can be really hard to pull up. (I guess a long chainstay makes it difficult?) If you're able to pull it up high enough for a manual you should theoretically be able to bunny hop it. Timing is a big one for a controlled and high bunny hop. Another thing that helps me with getting higher is to pull the handlebars towards me as hard and fast as I can. But that only works if the timing is right!

I personally like the look with the pattern and the three continenal logos. Looks clean and quality! And the orange matches golden bike parts quite nicely.

this have them for some weeks now and really can't say anything against them except they're expensive
-
yeah, checked it too..

I guess it was a Red Bull Silver Edition, wasn't it?
-
Been watching it quite a few times this morning and again now.. and I mean... just look at that line at 2:52 min... no correction hops, no waiting, no balancing moves at all... and a huge gap... he's just riding over that as if it was normal, making it look easy.. thats stunning!
-
It somehow made the atmosphere of the video weird that I already knew the second song. Is it just me thinking that or has Danny gone incredibly BIG in this edit? I like how he just smashes those huge trials lines. Makes it look effortless sometimes. That first clip... so fast and just hops onto that narrow wall

It's online ! http://epecuen.redbull.com/

rip all the little nipples off the tyres! will make them grippier and better looking too! that's a sweet built, man

I think the trailer couldn't be better.. it's a perfect teaser.. makes me want to watch the video sooo bad, without even really showing danny's riding. It's all about the exciting location. Dave Sowerby surely knows how to do the job, nobody makes better riding films than he does, and that makes me even more exited for the actual video.
-
Holy sh*t, this looks like an amazing place to ride! Especially that stuff in the water. http://epecuen.redbull.com/

What exactly do you mean, you cut it down? Just made it narrower? At the moment I'm still running the Element rims.
-
Element 2012 frame and forks.. the rest isn't really Element anymore.. I'll post some pictures of it on the forum, as soon as I get my fresh Pro 2 Rear Hub and have built the new wheels. (The hub shell and flange of my Pro 2 trials/ss 40t broke apart a week ago...)

haha, no I'll just tell you the first impressions and then after some weeks I'll write the review Holy Roller and Kenda K-Rad... more Holy Roller as it's been a while since I've been riding the Kenda tyre My first impressions within about 4 hours of riding them yesterday were that they roll really smooth and feel a lot nicer when carving. I guess that comes from the finer profile and the nicely round shape. The grip is superb, just as expected, even on wet ground. There was only one negative issue I had with them: I had a lot of trouble stopping them from sitting wobbly in the rim. After like half an hour of trying to put them in perfectly I ended up with both tyres being a little thinner at one spot of the wheel. I started using them on 45 psi, so I can't tell you how they feel on low pressure. One last thing: they look pretty cool
