10.30 meeting time then Gets dark by 4 properly sucks! I should have 10 copies of the DVD with me tomorrow so if anybody wants one just come and ask They're a tenner. Jonny.
-
Thanks for all the comments! Should be up online early next week! Just to clarify one thing.. its NOT in HD. Its a normal DVD that plays in normal DVD players. I did shoot and edit it in HD but I down-converted it for normal DVD viewing. HD copy ready for when EVERYBODY has HD tv's and dvd players, few years to go yet I recon! Jonny.

Woah people properly eating dirt! Akkers is mad as always, even though it was 2 second clip lol! Looking forward to it! J.
-
So how many are actually going? Jonny.
-
I recon I might come, see if I can get Goddard etc too. I'll have Our Summer DVD's with me so if you wanna save a quid on postage, bring a tenner with you and you will be the proud owner of one Jonny.

AVCHD is a brand new HD codec, based on Apple's H264 compression. Ive no idea how it works or if you can down-convert to normal definition (DV/SD)... best thing to do would be to check out http://www.camcorderinfo.com and maybe just a general google search? I think im right in saying the AVCHD cameras record to either hard drive of dvd - therefore you should just be able to drag and drop the recorded files onto your hard drive, import them into your editing software and get going that way. But yeah, just have a look around see what info you can come up with... and maybe post some on here for people to see? Jonny.

Upon reading further posts it seems I got confused with the original post. Yea like people say just capture normal DV. In fact most packages have this as their workflow, ie capture DV (25mb/sec - so if you look at the file size you can add it all up and see if its the right kind of file - usually has .AVI on the end of the file name you give it anyway) and then just edit as required THEN export (ie compress). Editing already-compressed files sucks as some playback is limited and can become staggered (on slower systems perhaps) and the end file you finish with will look crap basically. Text wise, Leeds trials you seem to be giving yourself way too much work! Simply go File > New > Title and you instantly have a tool to do text/writing/titles with. When finished it should be in your 'bin' then drag and drop onto the timeline over the clip(s) where you want it and it has an auto-composite mode so the text is instantly visible with no background. Also with capturing - go File > Capture > Movie Capture (I think) then its piss to capture, you just have to alter some settings to suit your project which should consist of something like DV - Realtime Preview, 48khz (48,000hz) sound). All this is just to save time opening/closing multiple applications. Hope this helps people J.

The older TM videos were all MPEG1. Do a search for TMPEGEnc. It was the encoder I used. I exported the video as Microsoft DV AVI from Premiere. I use QuickTime with H264 compression now - only cos I use a Mac to edit. I think I still have the encoder template settings for TMPEGEnc somewhere. Add me to MSN and I can prob help you out. Nice one on getting a camera J.

Jonny Jones replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Videos
Loved it again haha! Your house is soooo nice! I want it haha! I found 'Last of Summer' or something video of yours liked that too. That guy in the car was a complete knob, what if you had fallen back off that wall? I dunno he needed a slap. Loving your stuff Joe hehe! J. -
OK some news. Im basically just waiting for everything to come back from the DVD duplication place. Also, the cases and packaging will arrive 2moz as well, with luck! As soon as everything has arrived I'll upload a new site and so everybody will be able to buy a copy! THANKS SO MUCH! for everybody's interest! Jonny.

Loved it Joe! Its strange as the very first project at Uni we had to make a cup of tea and shoot/edit it as creative way possible. Ours sucked, yours didnt haha. J.

Yeah. I actually learnt that from the Big Breakfast - if anybody remembers it from the mornings on Channel 4 years ago. Both tracks used on the trailer can be found at http://www.myspace.com/simplycryptic There are titles on the trailer that let you know what they are, however I guess they are a little small. Cheers everybody!! Jonny.

Unfortunately that was the only downside of that track, it was great untill they said that in the lyrics. Im out of stock of cookies for the time being, sorry Sorry if that gave off the wrong vibe or what have you... they certainly are not b*stards. Thanks for all the kind replies! Jonny.

:$ Thanks man Its 45 mins long, then about... 20 mins of extras? Jonny.
-
Thanks dude! Means a lot! Yeah I tried really hard to use the camera in as imaginitive way as possible, hopefully the dvd will reflect this. Its great people so far like the trailer! Jonny.

As most of you will know by now, over the summer months I was hard at work filming as much as I possibly could to make a DVD of the Summer's riding. Well, I've done it. The master copy is burnt and basically I just need to get it replicated and the DVD cover copied many times. Here is the trailer: TRAILER.mov | 36mb YouTube Link: Thanks to tv.isg.si for the hosting the full quality trailer! You'll need the latest QuickTime player to view it - as with all my latest videos. If you don't have it or think you may have an out-dated version you can download it for free from here - QuickTime Download Page As I mentioned above, the DVD isnt fully ready, it just needs replicating. I'll be setting up a new website design for the official launch and you will be able to buy it through PayPal. I will also be accepting cheques. The price will be (if everything goes ok) £10 plus p+p. Some of the bands that are in the DVD: The Gamits (from the Evolve and Contact days), Milloy, Spitfire Charlie, Trashcan Darlings, Simply Cryptic (damn fine UK hiphop) and Division of Laura Lee. Some of the riders that are in the DVD: John Shrewsbury, Nick Goddard, Sam Wheeler, James Porter, Andy P, Rob Poyzer, Si Sagar, Ashley Butler, Danny Butler, Ben Savage, Rowan Johns, Phil Feeney... there really are loads! I think that covers everything for the time being! Im really hoping I can sort everything within the next 2 weeks, plenty of time in-advance for Christmas, if this is something people would want as a stocking filler... or just a general purchase! Any comments, questions etc welcomed as always! Hope you enjoy the trailer! Jonny.

Bit of a bump sorry! Wow what you did to your King looks super harsh! OK I'll email Mr King and see what they say. I guess its a relief that im not riding much as its the end of the year, otherwise I'd be super bummed out! Thanks for everybody's help! Jonny.
-
Much preferred this to your first mate. Loved the editing and the track! Liked how you used the clip of you going onto the phone box and stopping on top and having you stack using the same clip at the end of the video was well good! Nice one Sam mate keep it up! Jonny.

Thanks man! Only thing is, I cant get it apart, like I say they just twist, so I cant get into the hub! I'll give it another try later today but I doubt I'll get anywhere! Thanks for the link! Jonny.
-
I admit I havn't done a search but I think I would prefer some fresh answers/help? OK, basically Ive had my Rear Gold CK ISO hub for probably just over 3 years and its only just starting to play up. Few weeks back when I tried to un-do the axle and clean/lube the internals as I normally would the two end alen-key fittings turned the ways they normally would (one 5mm allen key at either end of the hub), but they didnt un-do! they just twisted and I got to the point where I thought they were coming un-done then they would loosen again, and so the circle continues. Sounds like something has snapped to me. The hub wasn't loose at first so I just left it, but yesterday the hub came loose so I couldnt ride on it and so drove home lol. Basically im just after any help! I dont know whether anybody could sort my hub out? Tarty? Mr. Singleton? Ive no idea what's going on these days in regards to CK hubs. Many thanks for any help in advance Jonny.

Petition link doesn't want to work for me? Will suck if it all goes. Hopefully it wont! J.

4got to de-interlace, nasty lines apart from that awesome stuff craig. The thing that stood out for me was the gate! WTF?! I recon you must want to just concentrate on Uni now, good lad Hope to see some more stuff soon though J.
-
Acura RSX u jammy git! I should know this but im not sure whether he has an HD camera or not? Was really clear so I wouldnt be supprised! Really liked his riding style too, super dialled. I have a Raynox 37mm HD lens for my camera (saw the bit about which lens to use) works ok, but if u have the dollar, get a Century Optics conversion lens, they do loads, wont be hard to find one with a 37mm thread. J.

Thanks for the link off msn Joe I thought your previous videos were more involving for the viewer, had more pace and were slightly more enjoyable. I just think this one lacked pace in terms of music and and editing. The riding was pretty mint though dude! 80% of the stuff I wouldnt dream of doing... prob cos i COULDN'T do it haha! Looking 4ward to the 2nd Tarty vid! J.
