I have a friend who developed cannabis psychosis. He was just unfortunate that it was more the way his brain reacted to the substance rather than doing excessive amounts. Anyway, his friend went away on holiday and when he returned my friend was telling him about how he had been protecting his house from the bunny men who had been trying to break in. He also threatened his mum with violence. He suffered brain damage from which he'll never completely recover. He used to be a very confident outgoing individual and he's quite opposite now. His mum said she would have prefered it if he'd been a heroin addict because at least it wouldn't have caused such irreprable damage. My friends brother has also developed schizophrenia which was at the very least accelerated by smoking cannabis. We should be told why this is a reason to potentially not take a drug. But we should also be told an accurate percentage of the people who it does go wrong for compared to the percentage who are alright with smoking. I bet you we are more at risk from leaving our house and crossing then road or some other common risk than we are from any adverse effect from smoking cannabis. I'd like to say that alcohol and ciggarettes lead me onto smoking cannabis and other substances.

Would it matter so much to have heroin users if the context in which they did the drug changed? Like I said, it's them not being able to fund their habit which causes them to behave in ways we don't appreciate. I don't know that the users would increase. People generally know about heroin as a drug to stay away from. I think it's just going to be the people who were going to end up in that situation anyway that will use the drug, certainly for the most part. It becomes a vote winner if the people want it to be. It's upto you and your opinion. I'm seeing many cliche opinions. The establishment has done well.

Yeh my education on drugs was poor. South parks parody was spot on. It was just the process of brainwashing through repetition. My experiences with drugs have been extremely different to what I was told in school, on the news, governmental propoganda etc. I also have the experiences of other people whom I have talked to who have used drugs, whom pretty much follow my own line that drugs are fine if used sensibly. I do know of people whom it has gone wrong for however. That's just unlucky though and it's a minority. I think people should have the right to find out what drugs work for them and what don't even if it is a gamble. What isn't a gamble? I have also read, watched and heard very different scientific views from the establishment view that says drugs are some sort of demon thing to be feared. You've always got to look deeply into why somebody might say what they are saying. On the one hand I could just be ratioinalising my drug usage because I'm a slave to it on the other hand, how might it benefit somebody else to say otherwise? Perhaps a scientist sponsored by a government who deems drug use in society not to be beneficial to some reason besides our health? Can anyone see how a scientist might follow a certain line of thought or practise when there's a large salary waiting at the end of it?

Heroin is extremely cheap to produce. I can't give a more recent idea of the cost but I can only assume it's less than it was given the general trend of cost production. Anyway it was about $0.50 for a "hit" in the 1970's. Consider the idea that heroin users, when their lives are not revolving around getting the drug from a position of what is most likely poverty, can actually function in society. I have a friend whose Dad's friend, a doctor, wrote himself perscriptions of heroin or it's prescribed equivilent and was able to function like this for many years with no adverse effect on his ability to perform his job, until he was found out, and rules, laws etc. got in the way of something that was actually not so bad. Also consider that one of the other problems that arises from heroin use and it's very addictive quality is that users usually end up behaving in ways which we do not like in order to sustain their need. Like mugging, violence (this happened to me), stealing etc. I don't know how much this costs society but I suspect it's a lot especially with the addition of the costs towards the process of dealing/punishing such people. Now with this in mind, what do you all think to the idea of legalising or decriminalising heroin? Or at the very least continually supplying heroin/equivilent (not methadone which is currently used to get people off heroin and which is far more expensive to produce) to people who are already addicted? Can you see how it might give somebody the chance of a life? Perhaps some people are just going to end up being users from being born into a crap social situation, so isn't it worth trying to make it as easier for them and perhaps easier on the rest of society as well? If the cost of supporting users is less than the cost of not, through the aforementioned reasons isn't that better?

It certainly is Mark but I think we can make generalisations about acceptability based on law and assumed majority/sizable opinion. Social opinion is never absolute. I agree with what you're saying though.

Hello People, I was just wondering if any of you have an opinion on the subject of drugs? More specifically I'd like to hear what opinions/knowledge you have on individual drugs rather than viewing all drugs as one and the same. I do mean drugs that are either illegal or appear to be socially unacceptable. I would like to hear, if you do have an opinion, why you have that opinion? I'm still interested in all opinion/information, even if you are unable to find a strong justification for it or it seems insignificant or whatever. I just want to know what pops into your head at the mention of the word "drugs". Mucho appreciated and hopefully this doesn't drop straight out of forum sight Ben.

Doing lots of drugs then robbing old ladies to do more drugs later on.

14 years old eh? I remember looking through the Kays catalogue, I think it was, at the women dressed in underwear trying to get a peak through the transluscent material. Must have been about 8 years old. Those were the days!

"YOU C**K , any thing to do with killing is utterly wrong and should not be encourage" look up, look down. "I do gaming myself but also agree that it makes you violent and agressive" "you need to differniate between reality and films" - I thought anyhting to do with killing is wrong and not should be encouraged? Reality or film? "hmmm films are completly different to real life discussions on best ways to kill someone" - And why is that then anyway bearing in mind that it was meant to be satirical? In fact I think satirising killing is better than glorifying killing which occurs in both film and computer games. Killing as something ridiculous or killing as something that is cool? What do you think? My tone isn't what I would like to be but I'm not in a good mood so apologies for that.

Should I not say something when you are contradicting yourself? I'm not having a go mate, just think about what you're saying.

I can't believe they are suspending children of that age. I wonder if these kids have been exposed to corporate sexual advertising but been denied a decent sexual education?
-
The irony of that advert. Making gap leap assumptions derived from one element of an individual just as a racist does about somebodies skin.
-
You best not ever watch another violent movie then mate. If you hate violence so much it's best you don't help fund an industry that glorifies such a thing.
-
Look the word satire up mate. I bet you watch and enjoy movies with killing all the time. Your form of communication isn't doing you any good. And perhaps if the industries weren't ripping us off the situation might be different. I download music and have absolutely no problem with what I do. I still buy cd's of music I really like in a bid to support the artists. I'd much prefer to be able to support more artists through being able to purchase cheaper cd's or having some method of donating money to artists I appreciate. I don't however think that artists should get rich from doing a job they enjoy and I certainly don't think the amount of revenue that goes to the large record companies is deserving. Don't let the piracy propoganda fool you.

That was sweet. A happy video, nice and chilled like i like it. Did you edit this Dan? Also Seans riding has improved loads since I last saw it. Liking the style. Good stuff all around

I'm fast moving away from the idea of democracy and shalln't be voting. If I were were happy with democracy though I think I would choose the Green Party as their views are most alligned to mine. I think our political structure should be moving towards one of anarchism. This is the point where people start to realise themselves as free-thinking individuals non-reliant on rigid lines of thought that are predominantly set by minority structures with self-interest. Do any of you think about the fact you are born into an unvoluntary association with our "state" and it's rule? How free thinking do you think you all are by the way? Do you ever consider the boundaries of what's acceptable to question? What are your reactions to questions and ideas like if I were to say I don't believe in a legal justice system, in punishment and prison, what would you say to me? Sorry for going off on a tangent I'm just highly interested in opinions.
-
Perhaps. I'm not totally on the ball with maguras as I haven't used them for some years. I was a rear v-boy for the most part of my trials riding. The tpa won't adjust, the lever's spongy, returns to the bars which my big hands really don't like and there's a gap of no resistence in the lever before the calipers push the pads toward the rim. I may see if I can get someone to bleed it or I may just purchase a new one. Looking fowrad to riding though. Do you keep in contact with Jon Granger anymore Mark?
-
Well the first is slightly incohherent because i was drunk. Don't think I can be bothered to ammend it. The second was a response to what Mark asked me. If that's what you meant Alan?
-
That was a drunk post last night. Anyhow, yes I'm back and different. My life has always been sccrewed up but then it got much worse and I gave up riding but things are better now and my new/second hand trials bike arrived today actually. Although the rear brake seems to be shagged in contradiction to how it was advertised I may have a video on here at some point if I make a habbit of "borrowing" my mothers camera as I got rid of mine. What I said before was a joke by the way. One of you guys has ownership of the forum and is totally entitled to control the operation of it as you see fit. You get too tyranical though and I guess the natural result is everyone leaves. Not that you are tyranical. I personally think everyone should be a bit more slack toward each others individuality as expressed. That's just me though. Which two of you runs this forum again?
-
My topic was satirical. Sounds like the dustcap one was as well. This is the problem with moderation, it relates to a few individuals idea of what is right and wrong even when perhaps fundamentally there's no difference the percieved right and wrong. I think we should have an anarchistic forum rather than an oligarchy. Shall we have a revolution and cut off all the heads of the moderators?

You've all got issues. I've got intoxication.

Hate. Good job. You're already involved in the religion of capatalist/atheism. There's no espcape from religion, only the different forms of.

Snappel for the win.
