I'd say my post was on par with yours! You expressed yourself, I viewed your expression and expressed myself in return Why is my expression any less valid than yours when you understood my point? And thus my main opinion on the matter, that as long as you understand what somebody is saying, do you have to make much of an issue if their spelling is bad? Or that they use an alternative form of communication/dialect? I don't use textisms but I have no issue with them; they are usually very similar to english and so usually very easy to understand. Perhaps though, maybe some people do struggle with them? Even so, it makes sense in my mind to let people express themselves in the form that they wish, be it bad spelling or textism. That only make it right for me though. You're also right in your expression, relative to you. Isn't it great that we're both right? edit: Just noticed, i thought you, small gear big style, were the one who created the topic. My initial comment was aimed at seaman. Don't really have much to say about your post apart from I liked it

yawn Or was that just an attempt to show the brains capacity to decipher meaning where an obvious meaning lacks, regarding "official" words and their structure?

Well done poopipe. Master creationist

Absolutely superb. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to see that

Yeh, getting angry is the bit I feel embarrased about. Sorry about that James. I just felt a bit uncomfortable whilst standing there mostly naked :$ It's okay when you're running though.

The power of words eh. Personally I think the whole PC thing is a bit silly. Peoples intention when they say Merry Xmas or something similar is, I would assume, not to cause offence, but to celebrate something they appreciate. Doesn't it make the most sense to consider that part of somebodies word/expression usage? Rather than the way somebody might interperate it which contains an infinite of potentials. Additionally, giving words such status can actually empower them, because of the consensual value placement that people then relate to those words. Such as 'swear' words. In regards to people being 'racist', I think, again relative to myself, that people should be allowed their opinions, even if some of us disagree with them. After all, the best we can objectively say about racism is that the view is incorrect in varying degrees; that a generalisation or claimed behaviour regarding a social group is incorrect. I don't think you can say a feeling/emotion, in itself, is wrong. Basically we can't really say that racism, objectively speaking, is wrong per se; only that it is wrong to me as an individual. Of course you're more than welcome to say that it is completely wrong, but I'd say that, in a sense, just like the racist and their rationale, I think you'd be incorrect. I think that censorship is not a good thing, regarding anything. It can impact on 'progressive', or not, minority view, where censorship is claimed to be doing a 'positive' but where that minority view may one day become a majority. Look through history, this is a seemingly solid trend. Maybe racism is 'right' for the majoirty of humans. I don't know. Can any of you say, to an absolute, that it is or is not? Also, when opinion is censored, it can't be communicated with. I would personally like to know about what the people aruond me think, even if I disagree. Communication relates to social change, censorship relates to social stagnation. My 'paki' girlfriend agrees with me on this (she told me to write this part ).

That was quality. Certainly haven't seen it on here before.

I use ultrasone hfi 650's which I find to be superb. I found them to have a really good simulated depth of spacial sound and to be very colourful. They've had very good reviews which always makes me paranoid about what I truely think about them Only thing is they cost £99: http://www.relax-uk.com/product.asp?id=192&sm= Thought I would mention them even though they seeminly overstep the mark of your price limit just because I was so impressed by them.

I really didn't like the filming. Mostly because it was too close and too rider centred. No real consideration of the parts of the environment that the riders was tackling. Shame really because the riding was blatantly very good.

Wouldn't the more accurate contrast be something going into his bum rather than out?

arf! hehe. looks like a good idea though.

It makes sense, in my mind, that understanding the "fundamentals" of our surroundings is inseperably linked to our well being. The more fundamental we get in our understanding of things, the wider such understanding can be applied because of the pervading nature of that which is fundamental and uderlying. I think learning to trackstand first, or having an initial ability of trackstanding would be of great help to all other trials activites? Science and information will make and has made a hugh difference to our lives, in what I would personally consider to be positive way. So besides the fact I find what they're doing fascinating, I also appreciate the advancements they are attempting to make, in regards to the human condition.

Good pics. I wish I'd gone to that ride I especially like one of the warped pics with nick to the far left side and two wooden doors at the centre. Seems a bit trippy.
-
Good stuff. I really enjoyed that and i'm really impressed with the riding.
-
Well done. That sounds like one of those dream jobs. Being creative is superb buzz. Perhaps if the urban riding is a bit poo you'll find some good natural riding? Anyway, good luck.

Cheers guys. I shall take that all under consideration. Perhaps, like you say mod rider, the physical tension is caused through mental tension, although I'm a lot more relaxed that I used to be. I think my gf is getting me a profesional massage for my b-day in just over a week. Hopefully like you say, that'll be with an attractive lady Bound to help in some way. I don't really go on trials chat so never saw that sticky before, so cheers Rich, I know where to go next time.

Hello there chaps. Have any of you suffered from, or are in a position to give me some advice regarding chronic muscle tension in the upper back, neck, head and eyes? Basically I had a lower back problem at the start of the year which became resovled or perhaps actually just moved up my body into the aforementioned areas. The affected areas are perminently tense. I've been told by a physio that I use the wrong muscle groups when involved in movement and tension is the result. He seemed unable to actually get me to use the right muscle groups though. I spent over £300 on physio and acupuncture before deciding that it wasn't helping. I'm about to start yoga and am hoping that will help but was hoping seombody might have gone through this and managed to resolve it? Or, without having experienced the problem might know a good direction to rid myself of the headaches, dizziness, nausea and of course the painful, chronic tension? It's really starting to interfer with my studies and frustrate me. I also seem to have developed an addiction to perscription co-codomal in the process of masking the pain. I think I've found some relief just through complaining about my ailments. Thanks, Ben.

Yeh I share, to some degree, what you're saying. It's mostly when I feel down about something first and then the weather just tends to make things a bit more difficult. Saying that though, the winter has its qualities. Just the way it makes things look. How the air feels on your face and in your lungs. And also feeling comfy indoors when its cold and wet outside. You may suffer from S.A.D which is seasonal depression. Basically the sun stimulates the parts of your brain that relate to happiness in some way thus its absence can make you prone to feeling down. There are ways of combating it with special lights that give out similar "stuff" to the sun. I always wonder could you overdose on the "stuff" and become manic? Probably not.

I see what you mean. Hmmm. So in a sense, black is completely a construct of the mind seemingly "switched on" through external events or lack of? Whereas colours are the amalgamation of object/value communication through photons to your eyes and your minds interpretation of that communication. But is it neccesarily so that you need that contrast of stimuli/no stimuli to act as a switch for the experience of black? In which case perhaps the potential for blind people to experience black is possible? Maybe black is always there for blind people to experience but it's difficult to find with the minds eye seeing as it's basically devoid of stimuli. Especially when the other senses contain stimuli. Or perhaps they experience it but can put no meaning to it because it's all pervading. Humans seem to make sense of the world through dichotomies. Although that takes us back to the switch, in a sense. In regards to thought, I don't think you need words. Some of the confusing problems with thought exist because of words, like certain sematical paradoxes: "if god is omnipotent, can god create a rock too heavy for himself to lift?" - a good one to give to christians A lot of practises like buddhism, yoga etc. are designed to help you stop viewing the world and your thoughts through words because of the difficulties they cause. Also general semantics considers words and their relationship to thought and psychology and reccommends not talking for a year. Supposedly this does a lot to your interpretation of reality, or your perception. In your development, thought came before words. Thinking about it, isn't the abstract concept "nothing" giving us all a bit of confusion? There really is no such thing as nothing if you think about it. Paradox Hehe
-
Is it possible you think black because thats what you see when your eyeballs are looking at the back of your eye lids? Maybe you consider this not to be stimuli? Black is still a signal of some sort though. No signal, no black surely? When you listen to music and your attention is away from your eyes, effectively you're not interperating any info from them; you don't see black, you see nothing which is not black. I think this is something of the same to not recieving info through your eyes. In that instance, your attention will just naturally fall on your other senses and sight will be a "nothing".

I'd say the word visualise, despite what it seems to denote, actually means to "generate" whatever it might be that you are generating. You can "visualise" spacial awareness/movement etc. without seeing that awareness/movement. You probably all do this when riding.

Dreams aren't exclusively limited to visual construction. In them you can experiencce immitations of touch, sound, smell, taste etc. I think the dreams of people that have always been blind will be composed only of those other senses that they have actually experienced. I think it's unlikely that someone whom has never experienced visual stimuli would be able to mimick it in any sense. Has anyone ever experienced in their mind/dream an animals sense that humans do not posses? I find it unlikely that they have, but who knows. Perhaps that analogy isn't very good. Perhaps sight experience is only one part of the visual process, as seperate from external stimuli, and the mind has some "internal" visual generating capability? An interesting thing about people who gain sight but whom have never experienced sight is they have a tendency to get depressed with what they see, when sight is given to them. They have some abstract idea of what sight is like but when they acctually exerpiencce it there's a tendency not to like it. People even commit suicide over the conflict between expectation and actuality. I can understand this being that touch and sound usually have a relatively smooth and clean feel compared to the sight of things. If those are some of your main senses, you're probably going to expect sight to follow a similar line. Does this suggest that they've created an abstract "visual" idea of actual visual experience? edit - saying that though, I have read about people being involved in certain practises such as yoga, astral projection, buddhism etc. having experienced things that were completely new, regarding sense experience of sight, hearing and touch, that were not extensions of what they have externally experienced before but entirely different and apparantly indescribable. Perhaps the brain generated these? Or perhaps it relates to other processes that might seem a bit far out to most.

I think maybe he drank the spiked drink by mistake though.
