That's because of the limitations of dualistic knowledge which is essentially conceptual knowledge - all conceptual knowledge IS dualistic. The act of breaking up the world into parts or bits (this and that) is false and thus inherently limited. There are no divisions between things, only an interconnected stream of difference - what is not existence? Quantum mechanics shows us that the subject and the object are NOT separate (despite the success of much dualistic science) and you can't understand one without consideration of the other also. Any attempt to measure quantum phenomena simply causes us to disturb that phenomena. Consequently the measurement is truly in terms of both the subject and the object. So then we try an attempt to include the subject in our measurement of the object, however this creates the same situation over - subject vs. object - with the new object representative of the previous subject-object relationship. Thus we need to create another subject vs. object, wherein the object is the previous subject vs. (subject vs. object) - in other words, subject vs. (subject vs. (subject vs. object)) whereby each bracket is symbolic of another object. This process continues, ad infinitum. Dualistic knowledge can seemingly never be proven to a complete end - you would have to be able to step out of existence in order to do so (clearly not going to happen). The famous mathmatical work of Godel supposedly revolves around this idea, that ALL systems/ideas/models must have an unprovable assumption. Interestingly, individuals such as Schrodinger, Eddington and Heisenberg, essential figures in quantum physics talk of a second type of knowledge which is non-dual and transcends the difficulties previously mentioned. Their statements looks VERY similar to the statements of mystics - I'm pretty sure they are both refering to the same situation. This knowledge, called "prajna" in Buddhism, or "Brahman" in Hinduism, "Day-break knowledge" in Christian Mysticism has been attempted and supposedly attained by mystics. Their terms are often synonyms for "god" but don't take the word too literally or you'll miss the point, which isn't a word and isn't dualisitic - it certainly doesn't mean the experience of a bearded chap sitting on a cloud. Instead it represents an experience, or higher reality, in the sense it's not distorted by ideas (dualism) whereby there are not things, just an ineffable connected experience.

I think that you always take a gamble with any conceptual idea in the absence of first hand experience. You need to weigh up the variables and calculate a likelihood. From my position I wouldn't ever say definitely that the world is spherical, simply because I haven't seen it as such apart from a slight indication on the horizon from a great hight. I'm far more inclined to say it is than the idea of it being flat however! The thing is, he has a point that we do take for granted many ideas as common sense. We need to do this to a degree in the sense that life would be unmanagable if you questioned everything on every occasion but at the same time being open to revise our 'common sense' seems sensible in that what consitutues common sense continually changes as we 'better' understand the world through scientific means and otherwise - the future society will probably mock us for a great deal of our common sense just as we do to those individuals that hunted witches. Most of us just accept the programming of a society and our development and don't question or change it even though we might be constantly suffering from it. I think the point is that not many really understand that they are programmed.

Perhaps that's just the way you come across unless you're currently being sarcastic? I'm stuck with the standard trouble of trying to deduct from limited information what the intent of the words mean. I suppose also that maybe the internet is the place where we vent certain feelings that we might otherwise hold back in the 'real' world. Perhaps you're quite different in the 'real' world. Of course you might be so used to being angry that it's become the norm for you. In other words you could possibly be like a fish in angry water

I'm glad I don't share your reality. Disliking so much stuff must be pretty shit/stressful. I'd also rather be a fence sitter than hold a limited and confused, either/or mentality that loves the nonsensical based drama. Being sincere though, what's up? You always seem so angry at the world and I'm curious why that is?

I have had many an interesting conversation with the colour red. I can't deny that. Anyone ever considered that they just love a bit of drama and that this whole thread is just a drama game. TF's own (cue music) trialsenders? I suspect that's what underlies the appeal of disagreement and "hate"red between riding styles as expressed here.

I really don't understand any of you that try to push one another into their own style of riding. People do what they do clearly because they enjoy it, yet some of you would want people to lose that enjoyment just to subscribe to your "better" style of riding. Perhaps I should listen to the chap that once told me to play football instead of riding because football is "better"? This is, again, one of those nonsensical discussions. "Blue is better", "no green!", "no blue!", etc..........

Like a (f**ked off your face) nude late night webcam "chat"?

Will it include nudity?

Always good to see Nick's riding. Loving the quality of your camera as well Andy - you seem to have done a lot better on the compression front than I managed. Great camera work also. I added you to msn the other day Andy but I'm not sure it's working?

I've been trying to remember what the tunage is all day and was about to give a partial memory when it came to me: "DJ Yoda - Perverted Disturbances" from the "How to Cut and Paste Mix Tape Vol.1" album

That was the second vid comp and I think Nick did win?

I found Adobe Premiere very easy to use, certainly in terms of just making a basic video with transitions or simple effects such as b+w. You simply pick up a video, drop it onto the timeline where you can cut it up with a tool or drag and drop a transition or effect. The help part of premiere is pretty good for extending your understanding. I recommend giving it a go

The video features, Matt Burrows (1st), Max T (2nd), Mike Singleton (3rd), Ben Rowlands (4th), Luke Rainbird (5th) and James Porter (6th). In terms of sponsership, I only know that James is sponsered by tartybikes. I wouldn't be able to give any more details except to say that myself and Luke aren't sponsered. I've no idea why it was taken down. If someone would be kind enough to upload to tvg or whatever it's called that would be appreciated otherwise I will try and sort something myself tomorrow evening.

Probably my most favourite trials video ever. Love nicks editing style - seems to know exactly when to place an effect and when to leave it be. Chilled hiphop paired with varied riding It's a shame Tim Pratt seems to have dissapeared.

Thanks for the positive comments chaps. Besides the riding of the other fellows in this video I wasn't expecting people to enjoy it so much. To be honest I'm unhappy with a good deal of the editing but glad you enjoy. Regarding the camera, besides rolling shots, it's mostly my preference to use a tripod. I love moving shots with a fluid head. Furry muff if you enjoy something else though! Music is "Tycho - Past is Prologue" from the "Past is Prologue" album. The codec of the vid is .wmv (if that's what you mean?) or else I've used an mp3 to encode it to .wmv. I lost that vid Max! Sorry, I have no idea where it is I think Mike may have take a copy though? Might be worth asking him. It's the same footage in this video or was the interest because of the different music?

Bottom right. I think it looks loads nicer aside from streaming.

I'm using a raynox fisheye and a sony wideangle. The raynox lenses seem to be pretty good value in terms of quality. Are you using premiere and what codec are you exporting with? Regarding glasseye, myself and Nick created it when we were going to make a DVD together but I pulled out of it.

I'm pretty sure you meant to say masogynistic which pretty much sounds the same as masodonistic. It means a man who hates women. Perhaps you're suggesting that the riders in these photos are girls? Anyway, I have no gripe with the fashion of others. We all end up in one social group or another. I'm awaiting the day though when it becomes cool to wear t-shirts for trousers and vice versa. That'll be interesting.

Yes, I'm struggling to sort this. Sorted, use link in first post.

Hello, New video filmed on my HDV camera. These are mostly clips that I'm not all that happy with due to my filming technique - camera wobble and exposure. Has given me a chance to practice editing with HDV though which I find slightly different and odd compared to DV so I need the practice. I've had lots of problems with exporting but have achieved something kind've satisfactory with the .wmv format. I'm working on getting flash video to work which I prefer in terms or contrast and depth of colour but at the moment I'm unable to make that run smoothly. Saying that though, the .wmv in converting to vimeo has become very jerky and to be honest I'm finding a dislike with how blurry movement is with the .wmv anyway. I definitely recommend downloading the file over streaming it. Sorry about the stupidly high file size, I hope to better that in the future. Anyway, ramblings aside, the video features myself (Ben Rowlands), Mike Singleton, Luke Rainbird, Matt Burrows, Max T and James Porter. Thanks to Rowan and Boon for filming a couple of scenes. Enjoy! Ben Edit: and of course, the link! Second edit: vimeo has seriously raped the quality, please d/l!

Oh, Luke.

Actually, universities are typically looking for a fairly similar form for which an individual should place a personal content. Providing you can differentiate between the two, looking at other peoples statements (those that were successful) can be of help.
