You are right, the app overload has nothing to do with Facebook in particular.
Facebook is in the same category as many other modern com apps like WhatsApp or Snapchat
in that their business model is based on algorithmic behaviour prediction.
With email, one can have an own server, which is good practice in the industry I work in, just to reduce
the amount of analysis white-collar criminals can do. Therefore, I use email in private as well, so I don't
have to check any other accounts.
This is why I incorrectly mixed in the 1000 com apps argument.
Nevertheless, there is the time-consuming trend of checking a 1000 apps amongst many young today,
and a waste of time on digital com is what the thread starter complained about, although in a more
