  1. Yes you can use a roaf stem if it fits. No we wouldn't recommend it.
  2. Yeah I use adjustable spanner as leverage on the allen key (spanner has a ring/hole on the end) and when im out I just stand on it n bounce about... seems to be holding
  3. Those are fronts rite? It looks like evidence of stopie's(front manual w/brake)... or up-to fronts?? Been doing much of this?
  4. I got some nike football shin guards for £1 on the market I dont want that...
  5. If you set them up so they are as close as possible (like rubbing on any tiny buckles and scraping a bit but not enough to slow you down) they have less room to wiggle around. Turn around the pad so it can wear evenly.. and try not to use the brake for slowing down ( use disk if you have one or just your feet or just ride slower lol)
  6. Yes thats correct 150 30degree. 2 spacers and bars quite forwards. Im 5' 11.5" (or 6ft if you count shoes... lol Seems good if not a bit.long. Brought bara back a little. Will report more when tested.
  7. My Shimano freewheel was skipping so decided to put on the Try all 108.9 I got off the old red cranks... I went to the garage up the road and offered them a fiver to do it... 2 seconds later he walks out with it all loose I guess I should have gone there in the first place. I will be taking all my freewheels there from now on. Gave him a fiver n a can of coke and went home to set the bike back up. Went out and tested it and it's so much better I now have 108 engagement points and not 20 something lol. Just wanted to share this . Cheers
  8. I understood all of what you said mate. And I know I make a lot of mistakes too need to remember the apostrophe's
  9. No I just wanted to learn someone something - iv been recently told off for my English and im English. Im no way the grammatical police. I understand what you mean and i do not speak any other languages. But if I did id want to be corrected, especially if it helped me to communicate. Regards, Mark
  10. Prize - "wow!, I have won a prize on the lottery" Price - "How much money does this cost?" Not sure on the frame.. I ride 20". Sure others will help you Thanks.
  11. Yeah 3 hours of actual trials would be a lot I guess... like 1 section that took 3 hours minimum lol. But a 3 hour ride going from spot to spot and stopping for drinks and McDonald's isnt that much, as I say you can do that all day if you keep at it your stamina will increase.
  12. Front wheel tap? Like to lift the front say, on a curb? Is that what you mean?
  13. Yeah I actually built a back wheel(koxx drilled rim - dt swiss spokes) onto a Profile bmx hub at halfords over about a day and a half. Usig only there tools and "jig that makes sure the wheel is true" but it was back in the day when there werw a few decent guys there who rode mtb and knew there stuff. And they charged me nothing and gave me all sorts of semi broken stuff that was esily still useable (like a can of oil that was just dented and such)... none of that level of coustomer satisfaction anywhere nowadays. .. Thanks for replys all.
  14. Checked again and looks fine... any more info for me regarding the location of the crack? Searched for the advert again and still cant find anything... Cheers.
  15. Mansfield or Notts guys on 2nd?
  16. Yeh, but solves problem. Function over from. .
  17. I dont see it as being hard to design a thing to tension the wheel from behind also. Infact iv already invented it... anyone good with metal working?
  18. No I mean any additional spacers... if not then its not that
  19. Yeah you can run faster than the bike lol he was like I say about 10 and there are lots of people around. Plus im usually a good judge of character and the guy was harmless if not "trying to fit in with the dicks that live in this area ans smoke n swear a lot.." I let a lot if the kids have a go, just because if they like it they may take it up , or atleast they can see how hard it is On the other hand I had a drunken 18year old (I know because he was banging on about being 18.. probably because despite being 27 I still get ID'd for Rizla papers, and he assumed I was about 16..) he approached, arms swinging sayig " give me a go in that" I said no of course. "What do you mean no?!" As he aproached with arms reaching for the bars... (I was thinking "what about " no" dont you understand, you cretinous lout of an excuse of a person) and proceeded to push him away. I was with a friend at the time and I know between me and him we didnt have a problem, despite him having friends around ( they seemed less drunk and to realise we were not 12, they were saying to him " come on, leave it you dick") Anyway, he turned and was messing with a small bag he was carrying and I immediately thought knife/duster/metal thing and just rode off about 5meters... 10mins later he came riding past on some hijacked mountain bike lol... Basically, Dont just give in if someones trying to get your bike, but dont be stupid either, bike aint worth ur life.... Back to the young youth... If he tried to ride off I would have sprinted up and pressed that front lever with all my fingers, now that would have been an even better storey for here " kid thief faceplant"...
  20. 10year old with cigarette in mouth: "I can do that" Me: "Do what?" "Them tricks n stuff like that guy on youtube" ...hands over bike.. "Go on then..." "Err I cant do it now because that isnt like the bike I did it on.." Me "Well try it anyway" He gets on and comments on "wow the brakes are so sharp.... ! Ouch!!!!! As the pedal struck his shin with his entire body weight... He then handed the bike back and limped off goin "thhhhh... ahhhhhh... thhhhhhh ahhhh..... thhhhhhhhhbhh....." Ahh, am I cruel or is that genuinely hilarious! !
  21. Well I have come acoustomed to being lied to by there staff. I didnt want to pay anything really. my friend used to work there and just let me use whatever tools I wanted. That was many moons ago however. .. I think the overall problem with it was they couldnt be arsed!
