Do You Think The Moderators Are Doing A Good Job?
tank_rider replied to trials_pimp's topic in Chit Chat
nail on the head, its in sm chat. personally i think the mods and admin do a good job. Yes they may not spend massive amounts of time validating new members, but they have lives also and prefer to spend the time on here making sure the rest of the forum is running smoothly. I agree with the whole seperate group of people to validate new members, i thought Danny said this was one of the main new features in the new board, might have to bring that one up again. -
i'd say get a set of 80mm travel marzocchis. Also make sure the stack height isnt that high to prevent boosting up the front end too much.

congratulations, i remember being massively nervous when i took mine, but passed 1st time with 2 minors :P it feels so nice the extra freedom it gives you. Now you have to really learn how to drive.

Another vote for the avid here. Simplicity and ease of maintenance get it for me. The performance of both is good, so i guess its down to feel and whether you want the hassle when the hope needs a bleed.

The TA26 is indeed a fine frame for the money. I am currently running a standard maggie steel booster (slightly bent) and a carbon xtr booster. I have managed this by cutting the overly long seatube down. I haven't exceeded the lowest point the slot for seatpost clamp tightening extends to so shouldn't have weakened the frame at all. Mine has lasted 18 months like this to date. My advice, get hacking the seatube down a bit to be able to fit a decent stiff booster on there.

im pretty sure they brought them out at the same time as they changed all the numbering. Not sure on where to get them from, maybe try a lbs who have mavic, and ask them to find out about them :S

thats a bit silly as they havent banned msn  oh well chris once your in a house you wont have any of those restrictions :ermm:

Troy Lee XC What's good about them? Cool in summer, warmish in winter, good fit, good grip. Would you recomend these gloves over others which you have tried in the past? Yes, I've had 2 sets of fox sidewinders, and a set of troy lee grand prix before these, and these are the most comfortable and have lasted the longest so far. How much were they? £25?? i think Where did you get them from? Bike 2004. Wades stand i think.

I was a bit dubious at first what with msn's attempt at allowing conversations through messenger being quite frankly shit. However i was persuaded and now love it. WWW.SKYPE.COM Is simple to use, free and allows funky features like using whatever audio file you want for a ring singnal too (Y) An easy way of chatting to mates without the cost of a phone call (assuming you aren't on pay as you go net access!!) i just use my phone motorolla E398 (Y) although i do have an old animal one somewhere, and a seiko chronograph.

i rehearse the move in my head, just the moves im going to make (not seeing myself doing it), and analyse the risks involved and think of how to get round them.

I used to, but since I have properly poughed into mine a few times I know it can handle pretty much anything, so don't bother any more.

Hard luck about the ankles  I'm not exactly rushing to produce a vid anyway. I prefer to have plenty of footage rather than repeat the same thing over and over.

i already had it chalked into my next vid :( who ever gets it out first now i guess :(

i went out last night for a bit of a play and my god was it windy, it had stopped raining, but as you said the wind makes everything more challanging, especially when its blowing from the side, theres no time to go standing around on the backwheel, up, go land to 2 wheels was the order of the day. Good fun, if a little annoying. I dont mind the wet, as you said makes things more challanging.

No, only one of them does that, and not much of the time any more as the server is virtually full :P

my athlon xp 2600+ is running at a steady 50 degrees C with it running, ill stop it for a bit and see what its like when stopped :S. EDIT: Its resting at 45 now, so about 5 degrees difference.

the socket 754 semprons are just 64 bit chips that there is a fault with half of the core so they disable it and run it as a normal 32 bit processor.

my first should be done by tomorrow, with the second following on sunday, and the old box on the 28th!!!!

James you absolute beast!!!!!! one of the best vids for a while, nice mix of pure and streety trials in there.

Unlucky, It's never nice when frames crack or snap (Y). In my humble opinion, it would seem not to be a manufacturing fault, due to the double failure. Manufacturing faults usually only result in a single failure. The only manufacturing fault that springs to mind is a problem with the heat treatment in that area. This would leave either a design fault, or rider abuse. looking at the photos (as thats all we can do as Brant said) it looks like the frame is in good condition, however this isnt conclusive. As for a design fault, the chainstay setup isn't something i have seen on bikes designed to take the stresses of trials before. Sure its been used on xc bikes (maybe planet x ones at that) but seems to be lacking the large weld area that most manufacturers go for for durability. Also the tube seems to be curved at the welding point which isnt necessarily the best idea in the world as internal stresses are created during the bending process. As welds are usually the weakest point on a frame the combination of these two factors could contribute to the failuer. I guess the final thing is to ask how long the frame was tested for before it was released. Many manufacturers have proven that by thorough testing of products before their release can unearth potential difficulties before the products make it into manufacture. This is especially true for light weight products where optimisation of materials often leads to compramises being made, it is where these comproamises are made that is important. Disclaimer: All the above is purely my opinion, none is fact and therefore please don't treat it as such.

is that a front wheel off a GT I-Drive 4000? looks like one of the tasty syncros rims they had (Y)
