    Car Rental

not an answer with an actual place, but just a word of warning, be prepared to pay a very high price due to only being 18. I was enquiring about hiring a car for a weekend away in wales and it was going to cost upwards of £150 for 4 days, that was when i was 20. You may find that some places wont even let you hire a car  Have you looked at avis, hertz and all the usuals to see where their nearest points are?
  2. what calliper are you trying to use? it seems a bit silly to put brake mounts on for 24" forks if you cant use any/many brakes with them (N)

    New Video

I'm in the process of downloading the video now, but thought i'd say that i really like the site design, everything is really clear and easy to navigate through, and the colour scheme finishes the whole lot off nicely. Top effort
  4. the bearings are fine, shame the axels have a habit of snapping though
  5. why not wait until you have it then tell us what its like? If you have already bought it then its a bit late if everyone says it sucks.
  6. mine does me fine although i must admit the picture quality isnt mindblowing, its fine for internet vids, as for the wide angle, thats why i have a 0.5 wide angle lense.
  7. I have one of the cheapest cameras from the 2003 cannon range, it was about £250 and has virtually all the features that are standard on most cameras, and has reasonable picture quality for the price as well as a decent zoom and easy of use. the MV700 found here is the newer version.
  8. looks good, although getting a gfx card with 256Mb RAM on it at that level wont make very much difference but will cost more, if they do a 128Mb version of the same card i would go for that.
  9. as Raud said, i think the white dots are slightly smaller where the writing is. When you are close to it your eyes cant focus on enough of the image at once to make out the difference, however at a distance your eyes start seeing the image at a more consistant focal depth and so the different circle sizes become aparant and the writing appears.
  10. George, we for well know i'm a geek, but more for the fact im doing an engineering degree rather than computery stuff (Y) As Tic, said, play around with your current setup and try as many different setups as possible. I used to run a long normal stem and risers, then switched to brisas on a 26" and much prefer the Brisas.
  11. Good point, although without jumping up to the radeon 9800 there is no real benefit, as the 9550 can be overcloced to the same speeds as the 9600, as they use the same gpu and ram.
  12. motherboard: ABIT NF7 V2.0 Processor: Athlon XP 3200+ Heatsink and Fan: Speeze Lightowl RAM: OCZ Premiere Graphics Card: ASUS Radeon 9550 Hard Drive: Maxtor 160Gb Most of the componants there are of a decent quality and so should form a good fast reliable system. Total of £342 for the above from ebuyer including postage. if you want to cut a bit off the cost then maybe consider cutting down to 512Mb of ram, which should shave roughly £50 off the price, but try to go for something other than ebuyer value ram, as it is pretty shite.
  13. Your right, but it wouldnt be noticeable unless you are measuring everything extremely accurately. This change is sooo small that all the fluid mechanics i have done so far at uni has treated fluid flows as incompressable.
  14. I'm guessing the cheap prices have something to do with the introduction of the new lighter bashguard, making the old one obselete :(
  15. that wont really run true, as even if the pads move all the way to the rim, the small amount of fluid in the system wont be enough to cause a higher pressure than is caused when you yank on your brake lever.
  16. i think i was a newb to t-f either late 2001 or very early 2002, 3 years on here (Y) oh how things have changed!!!!

    New Hub

the two pawl design could be a problem, if there wasnt a whacking great bearing in very close proximity to keep everything straight and in line. Looks pretty well designed to me :ermm: Seeing those pics has made me want to pick up the hub i was designing a while back, hmmmm we'll see.
  18. i'd say get tarty's but they arent available yet  As others have said, have you given the heatsinks a good snad down?
  19. Same as what i drive when im at home (mum's car), the one i drive is also a 1.3 and is virtually identical to the one in the pic, excepts its an 02 Reg. Cost around £600 extra for me to be insured for the year as its insured in london, although should be cheaper next year as i'll have been driving for 3 years and am over 21. When i finish uni i'm still not sure on what car to get, i will probably end up with a skoda though as they are unbeatable value and well built since VW took them over
  20. My MAD has sus on it, but i live in loughborough, and use it as a get to uni/street bike.
  21. true, except gt-85 also has pfte in it which will try and stick to surfaces inside the brake and will go sticky, wd-40 is the way ahead for thin oil in brakes. I am still running water in mine, and have been for 2 years with no problems.
  22. sorry bout mine mate, it is a really ol shitty cam that we had when i snapped the frame :(
  23. as i said, they have definately done this in my area, we have 1.5Mb/s which would have previously been the 1Mb/s service.
