looking at that camera it seems to be a digital-8 camera which dosnt produce the same sort of picture quality as a mini-dv camera. The sony cameras are indeed very nice. My advice would again be to go for a mini dv cam, and to go into a shop and try out as many different ones as you can, don't just go for something cheap because its on ebay, it may be worth waiting a week or two for the one you have identified as the one you want to come up.

just a quick update, my hub is still running sweet, with no probelms at all :- fairy elephant, it sounds like one of the bearings has broken, if thats the case, buy a replacement from a bearing suppliers, press it in and bobs you freakily young uncle. as for the really light hub on tartybikes, that would be the micro 68, i would steer clear of those as they have a reputation for the bearings not being the greatest. However if your in the market for a cheap light hub, check out the 120 sus hub, same weight as a hope mono, but for £26 including skewer, how can you go wrong!!!!

that looks like the facelift version of mine, with all the same features. refurbished cams should be ok, to be sure though make sure you get a warranty with it. some cameras take photos and store them onto a memory card like normal digital stills camera. memory cards like SD, compact flash, memory stick etc.

so we dont even have to click on any links or phone up or nowt :- bonza, so long as there is no download limit!!!!

the one i have is the MV600, i think there is one below that in the MV700 range, just the plain mv700 (without the i), that doesnt do dv in as well as out. That just means you cant put things back onto the camera from a computer. The stills are pretty dire, and so any cheap digital stills camera is better. I think this is mainly down to them being stored on the tape, i don't know if a camera with a memory card would take better pics, i would imagine it would though, but they usually cost more. I would advise going into a few shops and trying to find the ones you are interested in to have a play. Any decent camera shop (and sometimes some of the high street chains) will let you have a play and take some footage/play with the features.

i had this problem with my media pc making it about as useless as an underwater hairdryer. I tried absolutely everything i could think of including switching the sound card to a different slot, and re-stalling all audio codecs, but i just couldnt solve it, and so ended up formatting and re-installing xp. Sorry its probably not what you want to hear :-

i would say the mustek will have a pretty poor picture quality. The cannon is the model above the one i have and seems to do me fine for riding vids etc for the net. The only thing is that it has quite a long focal length and so you will probably need a wide angle lense for it, but you can get those relatively cheap from jessops or similar. I have no experience of the JVC though.

I had a dog and his name was BINGO, im pretty sure thats where it was located in b and q when i bought mine (and yes it is the thick clear stuff i have)

would a plea to those with ftp accounts to delete the old vids they dont need help, i just went through my account and deleted several vids that i no longer want up there. Also i have one waiting to go into the archieve too (Y) (not sure if its been downloaded recently, just not one of my two most recent ones)
-
in that case you need to change the criteria ^^^^^^ up there for last time downloaded. If the majority of the files are being downloaded once a week then surely they will never reach the 30 day limit, and those that have reached the 30 day limit are highly unlikely to be downloaded much/again as 30 days is quite some time when compared to a week. Maybe having an archieve feature for those with an ftp account, so that we can shift our older vids into the archieve. I know personally that im only really fussed about my latest couple of vids being easily available for download, and that if people really want the older ones then they can put in the effort to log in/register for the privalige (Y)

ive been bitten by the new greenday album, just something about nion all the songs that puts me in a good mood (Y) other than that, i managed to listen to one song on repeat over the three weeks of easter, and still wasnt bored with it (bare in mind i was spending between 8 and 14 hours a day at my computer listening to it), the song being The Living End - Staring At The Light. Other bands that i am currently listening to are razorlight, radiate, grand theft audio and Pink Floyd (P.U.L.S.E album)

can i ask what the advantages of removing files that havent been downloaded in ages is anyway? surely if they havent been downloaded in quite some time the likelyhood of them being downloaded is small anyway. I imagine its a bandwidth limit problem you are having rather than a storage limit problem, or does that somehow contribute to the bandwidth? Anyways im not too bothered either way, that reminds me time for another donation (Y)

dual monitors effectively give you a larger amount of room to work with. I have 17" and 15" CRT monitors setup on the same pc and find it especially useful when using CAD and whilst computer programming where is is necessary to have either numerous toolbars open, yet still need a large central or work window, or where you need lots of windows open and viewable simultaneously. Most modern graphics cards such at the ati radeon 9xxx range and the Nvidia 5xxx or higher range have dual monitor support. This will mostly comprise a vga out (standard monitor connector) and a digital output (for high end flatscreens) which with the use of an adaptor can also be used with a vga monitor. i have also found haveing two monitors helpful when doing manotinous work, allowing me to have a film playing on one screen which stops me feeling like i have done many hours work without a break, yet i find i am actually very productive. A film you have seen many times is best used here to prevent major distraction from your work, i watch james bond movies or the oc all of which i have seen in the past.

and the people riding them if you happen to go near anything remotely moist  i get through between 2 and 3 tyres a year (minion supertacky)
-
thats the sort of thing you only learn with lots of hours of driving, i had way more lessons than i actually needed, but flet safer and more confident so when i took my test i was prepared for pretty much everything.
-
not a bad vid at all, some nice riding. i think you need to get a bit more footage though, instead of showing the same move on the same object from loads of different angles. At a guess i'd say your using a stills camera to get the vids, so unless you go for a mini dv cam the quality will always be the same. It was definately watcheable though (Y) Look forward to the next one ;)

grant, so long as you turn your wheel over and use the same technique on the other side you should have a great brake in both directions (Y)
-
hmm not exactly true either, my brake works pretty damn well, makes the swooshing sound and doesnt slip, might be something to do with the frame, booster, rim and tyre combination too.
-
i think the slave cylinder are the same, and that the levers are just different, but dont hold me to that.
-
i just literally brush over the rim surface with the grinder as close to 90 degrees as poss (in reality more like between 60 and 70). About 10 - 15cm strokes, and make sure all the rim has been got. Ive only done a couple but they have both turned out well. As for holding the wheel, i put it on the floor, put one foot on the rim to steady it, then grind the opposite bit to where im standing.
-
i think it actually can depend on your technique as well, as to which disc works best (Y)
-
it would help if you told us what hub it was!!!!
-
why not try getting a new/different disc, they arent exactly expensive (about £1.50 from Band Q tops) My grinds on a ronnie rim are pretty deep and are seeming to last a nice long time, not as well as my 521 and im using softer pads too.
-
stone cutting for me too :turned: how many grinds do people get out of their stone cutting discs? and is there any way of putting a flat perpendicular surface back on the edge of the discs?
