expanding internal clamping chuck for a lathe (not sure what sort of machine tools you have access to if any)

Nice vid there Dan, some sweet moves pulled (N) Was well put together too.

Ti is actually not as expensive as people think, however it requires far more advanced techniques to join it and so these techniques and larger numbers of scrap frames due to the difficulty of welding Ti push costs high. For applications where the Ti doesnt need welding i believe it isnt actually that much more expensive.
-
thats all well and good, but how does it compare in fatigue, and whats it like to weld. Ti is actually not as light as alu if i remember correctly, but it is stronger and so tubes can be made thinner, which would allow dents to form more easily, with xc bikes this isnt much of a problem due to their intended use, however as many people will confirm, thing tubes on a trials bike arent a good idea as they dent and fold rather easily.

first one ive actually done without help  not too taxing, although i never get why you cant accidentally find the door key straight away.
-
i grew out of lego techniques at about 16, when i got into bikes really. I did however build a full sus pedal bike out of a motocross bike kit and a load of spares i had. Both a standard single pivot design and the old gt lts design  Then started tinkering with actual bikes so its been sat in a cupboard since.

it would have to be a load of episodes of the oc for me, mmmmm mischa barton (Y) hows about phone booth for a good film, or a bond movie for a real classic.

right click on my computer, then go to the hardware tab and click on the device manager button, then for the graphics card expand the display adaptors. It will tell you what adaptor it is, and if you right click on the adaptor you should be able to update the drivers through there.

Matt Staples <-- Young up and coming rider Andrew Chai <-- Young up and coming rider Scott Pitcher <-- Young up and coming rider Mr Ashton <-- Wealth of experience and knowledge Ali Clarkson <-- Best on natural and getting better and better That team would have a bit of balance, and the majority being young will ensure some potential gets developed (Y)

well done spoon, looks like youve done a good job there (Y) im glad you managed to get attention of the high profile riders to support such a good cause.

larger hard drives are becoming almost necessary when dealing with and editing mini-dv cam footage. I have 140Gb in my media pc and am forced to put all the footage i rip onto dvd's as i keep filling the damn hd's up. Larger hard drives do however mean that you can get complacent and not back stuff up (as you have plenty of room and dont need to archieve stuff as often) resulting in massive losses if you are unfortunate and the hard drive dies.

nope i did mean wiper seal, and yes i believe it is similar to the one on a standard mag lever. The reason the rb levers tend to leak is that dirt can get to the o-rings very easily due to the lack of a wiper seal, where it then works under the seal causing a grinding effect which scores the cylinder, resulting in leakage. The wiper seal keeps all the "crap" away from the o-ring and keeps everything nice and sealed

chris, sounds like the problem i get whenever i ride someones bike that has the brakes set to bite a long way out. You know how close to the bars my brake bite and i have relatively thing grips, my hands are just damn small. Try some thinner grips, nothing to loose really, as they arent exactly the most expensive part on your bike  Maybe try setting your brakes up to bite a little closer to the bars could also help a little, and is free so may as well give it a bash.

ive had my ronnie for a good few months now and have been quite frankly pasting it onto things. I have previously only had D521's and was dubious about going for a wide rim as i had seen them to not be as strong. However i have been nothing but impressed. I haven't managed to dent it to date and having built it myself, it remains almost perfectly straight to this day. Also due to it being made of slightly harder material to the koxx and viz rims it holds grinds for slightly longer, which should extend the life of the rim.

i have a few mates who play a few gigs and stuff and like nothing more than to rip into him, using his songs, with changed lyrics. sorry for the random post!! yes i have heard of him, not really a fan myself, prefer the version of his songs my mates play as they add a comical touch.
-
from what i have heard they also have a wiper seal instead of a second o-ring that the original design had, hopefully preventing the leakage problems people exerience :)
-
you may want to try and find some really smooth glass paper, and smooth any scores etc in the inside of the cylinder, then fit a fresh set of seals, to see if this helps.
-
i dont think so, i have only had problems popping the bead on tyres when using a narrow rim on a wide tyre. I guess only time and petes riding ability will tell.
-
Mark you may well be right, however these things have only been posted on a forum and therefore havent been used in actual direct advertising (unless im missing something here) and so they can say pretty much anything they like!

YEAH I KNOW, BUT IF THEY ARE TRYING TO DO AN APPLES FOR APPLES COMPARISON THEN SURELY HAVING THE SAME SCALE ON BOTH WOULD GIVE A BETTER PICTURE (IN THIS CASE IT WOULD MAKE THE ECHO LOOK EVEN BETTER!!!!) damn caps
-
more layers of electrical or gaffer tape required to stop the uber bulge of the tube!!!! Anyway, interesting concept, could yield an interesting result, certainly will be different.
-
nice and misleading there. I only had a quick look at two of the tests that are comparisons, and spotted that the scales arent the same. That would have made things a lot simpler to compare!! As steve says FEA can be as much of a hinderance as a help if it is not done in a very careful and considered way. Anywho, time to ride :-

I've already said i like it, and still do having looked at it a bit more. In terms of where i'd like to see it fit into the range, there was talk a while back about a lighter version of the t-rex, but i never saw that come to fruition. My guess would be that this will take its place in the lineup, and be the long comp oriented frame, with the t-rex being their heavier, yet more durable frame. Much like the XTP is in relation to the levelboss in the KOXX range :- One final thing, please please please, produce a 1060mm version for little ol me :- As for price, the detail on the frame such as the extra cnc'd parts would probably bump the price up. My guess would be around £325-375 :- as this would still be significantly less than the KOXX XTP and Coust with which i would think it will compete.
-
i must say that is probably the nicest frame i have seen in a while. The design looks nice and clean when built and i am a particular fan of the colour. Anyone got any ideas on the geo of the frame, as im sure it will be pretty long and therefor not allowing me to get one (Y)

hey don't knock their future, they are going to be tomorrows criminals!! They will be the ones trying to steal your car, in a couple of years :o
