Absolutely pointless and adds nothing. Please don't post any more topics like this else you'll end up with warnings and/or being banned.

Keeps me in shape and is personally challanging. It's something i do when i need a break from anything, gives me something to look forward to, and is just generally fun. Progressing is always nice, but just beign free to do what i want it the best feeling ever.

Sorted And no i don't have anyone ignored, no real point, if you see a post you think is BS then just don't read it. Makes more sence than ignoring peeps as then some threads become quite random when half of it is missing!!

true, so true look youve gone and made me cry now!! *Goes and sits in the corner rocking forwards and backwards* If you want a completely out of control forum i suggest you look no further than the fine webpages of the mbuk site.

Already been done, please put any new stuff in here

Sure am, but as nichols_sam said, theres no real reason to. If you follow the rules and are sensible then you won't get anymore. They are as they name suggests, warnings. You won't get any more unless you are silly or purposefully break the rules, the odd slip can be forgiven, everyone makes mistakes, but repeated or purposeful/blatant rule breaking will result in more warnings.

I've just done a test and my psu is as close to silent as your gonna get with a fan turning at all, so if you have any other fans in your system they will be louder than it!! However for the must have in completely silent psu's these are the ones you want. My housemate has just ordered the beastiest version of it. The fan wont even turn on until it hits something like 60-75% load. If you get the 500W version and have a normal system it will never come on!!

As others have said, you can only see your own warning level. It will decrease if you act sensibly and follow the rules. It's a system of giving people a chance to change the way they behave if they are being silly/offensive or blatantly flouting the rules. Behave sensibly and responsibly and follow the rules and you won't get any more

Well I've had my new Enermax installed for a couple of days now and have to say the things pretty much silent. The fan hasn't budged off the minimum speed of 900rpm yet. Thats with my graphics card using the power of a 6800GT and my CPU running faster than an FX-55 and using a little more power due to a higher voltage. All in all I've been very impressed by it and would recommend it to anyone

See if anyone you know has an external hard drive you can borrow for a day or two, and put it all on there, would be much quicker than burning stuff onto cd. As the other have suggested, partition your drive when you re-install windows then you wont have to deal with backing everything up next time you do it. I suggest at least a 30GB partition for windows and programs as games aren't getting any smaller now they come on DVD's, I personally use a 40GB partition for windows and all my programs.

As Mark said, myself and Jon have been added to the mod team. I'm going to apologise for any cock ups i make whilst i learn what all the new buttons do, so please bear with me. If anyones got any issues that the feel need addressing then feel free to lob me over a PM and ill have a look at them. I hope that as one of the older members on here i can be fair and will always have justification for anything i do, so will try my best to make the forum an enjoyable place to be :$ Cheers Andy

i should be getting my cpu either tomorrow or weds, so ill give you the lowdown on the psu as soon as its in. The reason i went for the enermax is that they have an excellent reputation for quiet, quality psu's. My housemate has one of the noisetaker series which is nion silent the entire time, and uses a pair of 80mm fans, so this one with a single 120 should be even quieter. It also has all the necessary connectors for any setup im likely to need in the not so near future, so all good. Your setup doesnt sound that power hungry as it is, and even with the addition of a X2 cpu, it will still be fairly on the low side, its only when you get into multiple high powered graphics card setups that you need more than 400W sustained load and even then this psu is SLi rated. The thing is that you may be able to get a 600W psu for the same money from a poorer manufacturer, but it wont be able to supply that wattage day in day out, it will be the peak output, not the sustained load, which means you have no idea what it is capable of for sustained running, more than likely about 300-350 watts tops, and even then the power wont be very stable. My advice would be to stick with a psu from one of the top manufacturers such as Hiper, Enermax, PC power and cooling, Antec, Tagan, seasonic and OCZ. Read as many reviews as possible (but take most with a pinch of salt as they may well be biased) and things said on forums as these are likely to be more truthful, and ill let you know how the enermax performs when i get the badboy installed.

you missed off a pretty fundamental thing, the spec of your pc!! also a rough budget would be good and if you want a modular one? i have an enermax liberty 400W modular supply sitting in my room waiting for the rest of the bits for my upgrade to turn up, ill let you know what the noise on thats like when its in

excuse my complete noobness, but how do you join a server if you only have the ip address?
-
I think it depends on what the game is, non action games should be fine at or around the min spec, whereas first person shooters and driveing games always generally suffer. Tell us what the game is and we'd be able to give you a better idea if its worth getting!
-
I'm more than up for that, i think my name is [FBM]tank_rider[rip deej] when its get to 9 if someone postsup which server there going for ill come and have a game p.s i can do 1.6 or source, although prefer source obviously.
-
The spec Chris gives above is pretty much spot on for what you want. I'd never buy a PC from PCWorld as anything I've had to do with them has ended in disappointment. If your after a whole package (monitor and everything) then getting a complete pc online will often be cheaper than building one up, however ill have a look and try to do both when ive got some time.

I'm not in halls, in a house with 4 other blokes. I got two small rooms, although we have some pretty hefty living areas too, and my bike is in the hall most of the time (N) Shag Pad Work Room (with evidence of what i've been doing for the past four years in the pic below, some of the 12 lever arch files full of notes ive filled so far  )

Oh well, gotta give some advantage, and i need the extra cpu power for CAE software and the like, which is very RAm intensive, so the extra cache should make more of a difference in there. -
if its the tall blue chipset heatsink then so long as you have some reasonable airflow through your case, you should be fine. I replaced the stock cooler off my NF7-S with one of those and its been fine.

I used to use fudge, but im a poor student again now so had to search for something a little cheaper but very similar. I now use Tresemme reworkable fibre putty, tis nion identicle to the fudge i used (except without the nice smell) but costs £3.49 a pot instead of £9 (Y)

thing is with trials, its all about balance and shifting your body weight around. For all other types of riding this is important too but you can do them withought being that good at the whole balance and body weight thing. I have found since i have been riding trials dirt jumping and general things like that have become so much easier, as your a lot more aware of what you and your bike are doing. I would say its the hardest form of riding to get good at (besides technical bmx) and if you change or ride another form of biking as well you'll find it a hell of a lot easier to pick up.

what venice did you get? I'm thinking the extra cache should equate to about 200MHz more equivilant venice speed, i.e opteron @ 2.2 = venice @ 2.4 -
