what type of casting would that be your using Pete? Sand, die? and how do your metal pads hold up? I would have thought rim wear would have been the major problem!!

in a similar vein a citreon 2cv? one of the old skoda/ladas, or one of the new skodas for that matter. mk1/2 golf (any probs when going through europe and the parts will be readily available) vw beetle of course theres always a mini, estate preferably so you can fit a couple of petrol cans in it. not sure of the engine size, but an old army jeep, or landrover. one of the old toyota pickups like they tried to kill on topgear, they have proved they go forever no matter what you put them through!!

Sorry SMO I'm already taken, although you'll be first on the list if that falls through -
I usualy run between 15 and 18 both front and rear, i can never be sure though as the pump i use guage only starts at 20
-
probably can, but this is easier and doesn't require messing around with all the cabling under my desk (i can't get into the bios when im using my kvm switch).

What speed have you got your RAM running at? My motherboard isn't supported by mbm5 but I've found speedfan can do the job, just took a little more fiddling to get sorted, but has more functionality in that i use it to throttle my cpu fan dependant on temperature, keeping the whole system running pretty damn quietly.
-
nice motherboard, i'm looking to get the S939 version to get the most from this opteron. What RAM are you running? and what sort of temps are you getting? I would have thought a watercooled cpu would be able to get a bit more than a 100MHz overclock, mines currently 700MHz over stock in 24/7 config.

I'm running an Epox 9NDA3+ and it's being cooled by a thermalright XP120 with a low cfm akasa amber fan running at 800RPM and has a gig of PC4000 crucial ballistix. I'm limited by this mobo as it can only do 280fsb for 24/7 running, but i can push it to 290fsb for benchmarks etc, but the cpu is capable of 3GHz stable just need a better mobo which i can't afford. Will have to keep my eye out for an nF3 based DFI. Other benches I've currently run is currently limited to spuerpie to 1M places which my best time is 33.65 secs, should be able to get under 30 @ 3GHz. Am going to run a couple of 3dmark tests later so will post the results then, doubt the 03 and 05 results will change much, but the 01 should get a lot better.

This is mine with the new AMD Opteron 144 overclocked quite a lot. this test seems to only be dependant on the CPU by the looks of things as the gfx card hasnt changed since my last scan which got 13% i think.

oh dear god its good -
Nice guide there Hoot although it lacks mention of the A64 specific setting of the htt multiplier that will limit the fsb (htt speed) to ~ 250MHz. I recently moved over to an A64 system from my old socket A setup and found that the overclocking is very much different, and includes a couple more factors. The guide I found that covered pretty much everything and was comprehensive enough to cover everything and allowed me to get my Opteron 144 up to 2.7GHz (300fsb/htt speed) where i hit the motherboards limit The Somewhat Complete AMD 64 Overclocking Guide In terms of overclocking in windows i found clockgen to be very useful for quickly finding the limits of the cpu and ram without having to re-boot every 30 secs. You'll need ther version specific to your motherboard from here, the once you've found your limits set it all up in the bios and leave it As for overclocking of Nvidia cards i use RivaTuner (i use it to unlock the extra pipelines in my 6800LE as well) to unlock the driver based overclocking function (PM me and ill walk you through it if needed) then use the drivers as Chris said to actually do the overclocking itself.

I don't regret anything i have or haven't done as it's all shaped me into who i am today. -
if its the bios not liking the card reader (it happened to a mates system recently) then it will make no difference if wondows is installed or not. Best update to the lates bios off the manufacturers website, then try the card reader again.

if your doing a degree that is challenging then uni is by no means a doss. I'm in my final year of a mech eng degree and whilst i do have to work damn hard at certain times of the year (read end of term/semester), there is still time to have a good time. I had pretty much the same amount of lecutures as Chris (spacemonkey) with the addition of about 15 hour in the 3rd year (had to do an individual project worth a third of the year) and my final/masters year where i currently have between 8 and 18 depending on labs etc (have a group project to do too worth a quarter of the year). I only get the min student loan and that all goes on rent, my parents pay for my other living expenses (food, bills, books etc) and i have to get the money together for a social life and anything else i want. Working over the hols has just about managed to keep me afloat, with the addition of a paid placement year. I tried a job in my 2nd year and even though it was only two evenings a week i couldnt keep it up. One of my housemates last year was a sport science finalist at loughborough and basically did virtually nothing throughout the year yet still came out with a 2:1. If it's that easy then your selling yourself short IMO. As for increasing the tuition fees, i'm all for it, if you really want to go to uni then you'll sort out the money, and remember it doesn't get added until you finish, so its not like the current tuition fees for those who have to pay them where they are payable every year (I had to personally pay those )

Andy that my friends is why you wear a helmet. Mines saved my life twice now, i never ride trials without one.

£70 is pretty much the retail price. They will always be cheaper as a pair as there is only call for one lot of packaging etc. It's hard for small trials companies as they can't compete with big retailers such as chain reaction etc on price, but if they want to be a complete trials shop then you have to sell maguras.

Ok, nice and childish there guys. Good impression with your first 3 posts Christoph Van Hooger pants, and Boumsong I've already told you once today!! -
With utter tripe posts like that it will be another 500 before you do. Read the guidlines and follow them (you use quite a lot of text talk and write posts that don't add anything or have no detail) and you'll get validated soon enough.

i managed to get some fairly sizeable chunks free by going to a local building supplier (not a chain store like b and q) and asked about buying some, they only sold it in huge slabs but gave me some broken pieces that were layin around
