Hey hey hey, Has a venue and definate dates been nailed down for this yet as im trying to sort out a south coast road trip in the summer based around this comp (1/2 weeks before and after it). Cheers Andy p.s anyone wanting to have a few weeks riding along the south coast in the summer give me a shout. EDIT: sorry should have said on the south coast road trip thing, really only looking for the older amongst us for the whole trip (i.e are of drinking age and preferrably who can drive and have a car as i doubt ill be able to fit more than one other person in the car with me), thats for another topic though closer to the time.

They are two seperate members, (well, their IP addresses are different, so unless there on dialup and disconnected between posts - ignore that), they have different service providers by the looks of things too, going a bit too far to get validated if their going to that much effort

No thanks, With all the hardware combinations possible with a pc, the mac drivers just cant keep up, so unless you spec your system very carefully, you'll end up with compatability problems. Would be nice to have a bosh though and see how much more optimised it really is compared to windows.

Depending on what course you do, get a job. Wait until you go and find out what your timetable etc is like, then get a job, even if its only a couple of evenings a week, a small but reliable income always helps stave off the overdraft gremline.

Sounds like wither a dead stick of ram, a dead mobo, or a gfx card. Does the graphics card require an external power connector? Also what is the graphics card (i.e gpu type, 6200, 6600, etc the amount of ram bares no significance compared to the gpu)

Dilema - To Tell Insurance Company Or Not :-s
tank_rider replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Chit Chat
i did a similar thing a while back, except i mainly minced my bumper and broke the other guys (no damage to the boot or anything else), ended up settling without insurance getting involved, but it was a close call. To be honest it may cost you an extra hundred quid for a couple of years, but the price to fix both cars is likely to be about 300-500, so may well be wirth taking the hit. As other have said, wait for them to get a quote, then decide, and remember it's noth just thier car you'll be paying to fix its yours too, whereas insurance would fix both (i'm guessing you have fully comp). -

Useless!! i think not, really interesting to see the big s do thinge the other way around to the majority of manufacturers, the depth of the ratchet and the size of the pawls makes it no suprise that they don't last very long when used for trials.
-
Cheers mate Will definately be doing that!! Once i've graduated ive got a plan to do about 2 months of riding before starting work, so dovor way will be added to my list of places to visit

just got back from a nice entertaining drive, managed to end up at dudwood originally as we followed the first ymsa sticker stuck on a sign which took us to the moto trial (letting us know it was just outside the village of elton, and a reasonable set of direction, and perhaps some advance warning of the moto trials event would have been massively appreciated, oh and while im on the subject, light blue arrows on a dark blue background really dont work, simple black on white is the way forward ) Got to burycliffe in the end but didnt bother going up to the venue as we met john evens on the way back down saying it was cancelled, ticcy then had a quick masterclass in how to pull away on snow on a hill, lots of wheel spinning ensued, but finally managed to get moving with a nice cloud of clutch smell Have just got back to luf now to find its warm and completely dry!!

As has been said you'll find it's due to the human need for acceptance, and the fact that the majority of the population of this forum are under the age of 17/18 and so don't have the life experience or experiences on which to base their opinions. Couple with that their "need" to reply to at least 50 topics a day and you get the "sheep syndrome". I think you'll find that people do express their opinions if they have a decent one, thats why quite a few threads end up in arguments due to people not wanting to accept others views and opinions on subjects thinking that there opinion has to be correct. On the other hand there are people who say things negative and provocative on purpose to try to cause/promote conflict, which really isn't helpful at all. There enough opinion that goes against other peoples in that post? or am i just "one of the sheep"?

i think the designs generally differ in terms of cooling performance, with the thinner, holed versions being better at discipating heat resulting in less brake fade (something avid suffer with quite a lot). I've got the version 3 which seems to work very well and i've not had as many problems with brake fade compared to my old standard 160mm avid rotor. I haven't had any experiences with the a2z pads, i'm currently running ebc reds, which seems to be pretty damn similar to the standard avid pads in terms of performance.
-
i've got a 203mm a2z disc similar to the one in the picture (except with more spikes and holes in them), it works really well, although to be honest should do as its fricking huge!!.

marketting + CAD system usually = disaster It's like having product design people completely in charge of a product, it will look pretty but will be impossible to make/make the working fit inside, they should stick to their cardboard models and leave the cad to the real engineers.

Without a doubt the most enjoyable vid I've watched in a couple of years, sooo varied. Absolutely awesome!!
