Getting Rid Of The Stupid "automatic Updates Are Off" Warnin
Spikenipple replied to JTM's topic in Chit Chat
Find the download/install settings and set it to 'prompt when new updates are available' or whatever, then just press cancel. That will come up less often than if you have them turned off altogether. -
Well I do agree with your points but the fact that the bike was sold 'in working order' led me to assume that there was nothing wrong with it when it comes to the basic function of the bike. The brake cable adjuster thing has been replaced by me although the thread in the brake lever itself is a bit shagged, but it's the principle that counts really.
-
Try the CKY series and Haggard. Also the Jackass movie and watch the 2nd one when it comes out!
-
Thanks, couldn't have been put better.
-
Well if you didn't make a fuss when you got something that was far from how you expected it, you're an idiot.
-
Yummy The blue hub on the rear wheel seems a bit out of place though!
-
That's 30-40 pounds i'm not willing to spend on a problem that wasn't caused by me in the first place and wasn't mentioned when the deal was being arranged, even though Nicky knew about it. Why don't you read the thread and then try empathising with me?
-
It's a 48 spline type, but i'll get a picture in the morning to clarify. If it's suitable, what's the length? The DK ChopStix on this bike are 175mm long and as i'm sure you can understand it's preferable to have the same length of crank on either side Fair enough Simon, I don't know if your example is real but if it is at least you were told that there was a clicking in the first place! Ooh and Trialsboy if it's the right jobby and you want a bit of moolah for it, i'll pay for it and take up getting money back from Nicky so any difficulty with money isn't moved to you Thanks
-
Well I'm not interested if they can, because so far Nicky's being only reasonable about it as he's been looking for ways to get me another set of cranks, but whether anything materialises is yet to be found out. Violence is far from necessary so far
-
Well you'd be annoyed if you were told that it didn't have any cum in it, but it did when it arrived wouldn't you? I'm only doing this because this bike's un-rideable because of something completely out of my hands, which I think is only fair! Why don't you find something constructive to do other than trolling?
-
Hmm ok. There's nothing quite like being perfectly honest.
-
Yeah we're having a bit of a chat at the moment and we're gonna work something out, so I guess i'll post back here when progress has been made

Black writing = me Blue writing = Nicky [attachmentid=5831] *cough* Here's the second bit. [attachmentid=5832] Believe me now?

Well. After Parcel Farce f**king up for a few weeks, the bike finally arrived here (on Wednesday). It's a nice bike, everything's in fair condition, other than the two things that Nicky failed to mention. The cable adjuster on the left hand brake lever is f**ked, like bent and the thread is stripped, which means the adjuster wiggles about and the feel of the brake is absolute wank. The brake's still useable, so let's move onto the next and more major thing... The right hand side crank arm is f**ked where the pedal screws in. It was a bit dodgy when I first rode it, as there's a gap between the bit of the axle where you put the spanner on and the crank arm itself, which produces the effect of making it feel really weird when pedalled. On the ride home this morning from a friend's house, I noticed the wiggling of the pedal getting progressively worse until about halfway home the pedal simply....fell off. The pedal itself is fine, although the thread is covered in a paste made of metal shards and GT85.. Upon inspection, the inside of the crank arm where the pedal screws in has absolutely no thread left in it, completely. It's just mashed up bits of metal and angled lines where the pedal was obviously screwed in at a funny angle, causing this problem. Now these problems with the bike itself are of course solveable, but the thing that's pissed me off the most is that Nicky didn't even MENTION these problems when negotiating a deal with me for the bike. Due to the pedal problem, the bike is now un-rideable until a new crank arm is sourced, which of course I hope Nicky will be doing... I'll be having words with Nicky when he comes online a bit later, but I decided to post this here now because instead of typing this all up later i'll just point Nicky to this post. *sigh*

Get either a Seagate Barracuda (up to 750gb), Western Digital Caviar or Samsung Spinpoint, all of which are fast, quiet and reliable in my experience
-
Having not used it myself, I can't say for sure but I think you can pick what quality you want and download movies between 500mb and 1.5Gb depending on quality. Don't quote me on that though.
-
Well it is because they put movies on the actual channels to a schedule, whereas you can download any movie you want, whenever you want without any extra charges to your account, and you can watch them more than once, whenever the hell you want.
-
Do you have Sky TV by chance? If so, Google Sky-by-broadband and if you have the details of your sky account you'll be able to download HQ movies for free

As has been said before, go for a well known brand but don't spend more than £500. For a vehicle that you'll likely only have for less than a year, it's a hell of a lot of money to go wasting, especially as you won't get the full price you paid back when you sell the bike. I bought a Honda C50LA (google images it) for £50 which needed a bit of restoration, and so far i've spent £20 on an MOT (fail) and £75 for parts for it, which i've almost finished fitting. Once those parts are on it, it'll pass the MOT for another £20 and then i'd have got myself a decent working moped for £165 in total... Don't forget to take into account buying a good helmet, jacket, gloves and a nice thick pair of jeans for when you go out. Insurance at 16 is f**king stupidly expensive, so make sure you've got a fair amount of money to waste (approximately £250 for a year on 3rd Party, Fire & Theft). Try Bennetts for a decent price. Taking your CBT test will cost you £70-£120 depending on variables. When you arrange your CBT test, make sure you use their bike otherwise you'll have to insure yourself on your bike for a month, which when applied for without a valid CBT certificate will be even more ridiculous than insurance at 16 anyway. It'll cost you about £20 extra on the base price of the CBT test to use their bike, which is a lot less than you'll pay if you insure your bike for one month without a pass certificate. I hope my rant helps

ASCUK is by far the best Airsoft forum out there for the UK. I advise against posting about air rifles though, as you won't get the response you're looking for. ASCUK is for Airsofting (funnily enough) so air rifles are rarely mentioned, but Airsoft guns are just as fun to be honest as you can skirmish against people without bleeding/dying

You can get around WGA by unticking the box when Automatic Updates pops up, simple as. I still get other updates that Microsoft release that aren't WGA, but it's not really going to affect me when they stop releasing them to un-certified computers because you can just find the code of the patch and download it as a stand-alone file from websites found on Google, which is also how I got hold of SP2 and DirectX 9c.

If Ur A Trillionair How Much Money Do U Have..
Spikenipple replied to Davetrials's topic in Chit Chat
The 'illion' numbers are named after the Latin (i think) numbers, like Mono, then 'Bi', then 'Tri', then Quad, etc etc. So it goes Million, Billion, Trillion, Quadrillion... Or at least that's what I think it does anyway (I couldnt' be bothered to click the Wikipedia link, will do now actually)
