Awesome . Is that the same chap from the " sub ponte " vid from a while back ? Love the music credits - Chris King +XTR :- . The guy really is too dammned smooth . Edit : He seems to have that whloe " Kenny Belaey turning on the back wheel " vibe . Smooth as .

Sure I've heard of 'em , German I believe . Largely extinct nowadays though and their website seems to be down , too . Found a pretty old skool photo , though (Y) .

Allright , thanks for your opinions , folks . With a bit of filing and lubing , they seem to sit nearly as they should and are offering excellent stopping power , but still squeal like a herd of constipated banshees . Gotta love T-F for exactly this kinda thing .

Yay ! A fellow Base rider . Tell your mate that throwing / damaging a bike is counterproductive , making it more likely to fail , thus causing further anger . Also , no sponsor will want to see their equipment abused , totally unprofessional .

I seem to recall one of the seniors posted a screenshot of their own forum , but with details pixellated out . Was like declassified official secrets act document .

Well done indeed , folks . Definately keepin'that one . Whatever happened to the T-F Video Competition 2005 ? Oh well , I guess the "kerb" comp was pretty entertaining .

I'm hoping that some of my buddies who DO attend will be filming , if so I'll post links to any Belaey footage or generally good riding . Belaey = t3h RoXXorz!!!11!1. Unbelievably gutting not to be able to ride with / against him . Talk about outclassed ! :)

I should probably apply for a patent and sell it to NASA's experimental propulsion laboratories . Either that , or expect to see an unusual modification posted in the bike pics thread .

Larger pictures would help us to judge better if the paintjob is well done . How did you prepare the frame ? Stripping , primer etc ...?

Now , if cats always land on their feet , and peanut butter sandwiches always land peanut butter side down ... What happens if a peanut butter sandwich is strapped to a cat's back and then dropped ? Any theoretical physicists ? :P

Indeed yes . These tyres are unbelievable for pinch protection . Look pretty neat too and I believe team MAD used them for ages if that's any reccomendation . See picture in sig .

Afternoon , folks . I don't expect many of you run XT V brakes , but I'm hoping someone can help me here . My new XT's dont seem to fit all the way down onto the canti bosses at the fork , and at the rear brake . I thought that perhaps when I tightened the mounting bolts they'd kinda seat the brake correctly , but there's still like 5-7 mm between the base of the brake and the frame / fork 's posts . Had to use a photo of my LX V's , but you get my drift . The brakes seem to work fine , but I'm sure they're supposed to sit right the way down on their posts . Any ideas ? ( other than " dude , get some Maguras ." )

A correctly set up V-Brake can match an HS33 for stopping power and modulation at a lighter weight . I'm currently running XT v's , but as suggested above by Fairy elephants , Shimano's parralel push linkage adds unneccesary complexity to the brakes , and their pivots tend to wear out fast .

Congratulations on your new bike . I was once infuriated and mystified by a creak that occured seemingly randomly . Having stripped the whole font end , I realised it was a brake cable ferrule moving in the frame's cable stop . Check and grease any possible culprits .
-
I'll continue to run my funky anodised blue ones 'till they perish in a failed sidehop attempt , then go back to tried and trusted Shimano .
-
You know its Love when... She encourages you to continue riding . ( bicycles.) Crappy one - liner aside , I could extoll the virtues and characteristics of true love endlessly , but ultimately , one simply knows and believes it when it happens .

As stated above , the TA26 is plenty light with the bash removed , and lighter still once the now redundant mounting posts are sawed / grinded off . Nice frame in black .
-
Shimano's Deore V-Brake is pretty darned light , and does away with the uneccesaralily heavy parralel push linkage of LX and XTs .
-
Funky flashing dustcaps are where it's at . Except they're not visible from the rear especially with wide rims and add tonnes of rotating mass . Apart from that , they're where it's at . Actually , don't bother .

I wonder if the likes of Koxx will be discouraged from further development by the increasing number of new manufactures on the market , and perhaps " similar " :)" designs like the CZAR frame .

You're right , Rich 87 . The sucess of this event will determine if this becomes an annual thing . I should just randomly select people on the street and encourage 'em to go with promises of free beer .
