  1. Leiden , near Den Haag . This site may interest you , and anyone curious about how damned small the Dutch scene is ...
  2. Can probably be repaired as an interesting project , but not in a way that they'll ever be trustworthy for riding duties again . As for half price replacement , I suspect that only applies to frames , and doesn't extend to componentry sorry . Must have had pretty poor spoke tension to allow the rim to separate itself .
  3. Big wheels are 26 inch and small wheels are 20 inch , they are the 2 main classes of competition . Many people learn or begin on a 20 inch ( called a mod ) , whereas a 26 ( called a stock bike ) is just way cooler . A wiser member will now explain the benefits / drawbacks of both types ...
  4. I welcome anything that encourages / welcomes new people to participate in our sport . :king:
  5. Sure is , but given the vast geographical spread they're lots of little groups and it seems that the U.K has more riders than the whole U.S ! Check out T H I S site for regional / state group rides .
  6. Welcome , fellow Dutch rider . You picked the best forum , but the worst country for your new hobby . Holland has one or two trials shops but as advised above , Tartybikes are generally considered the best out there . Whereabouts in Holland are you from ? Either way , this forum will gladly help with any questions you may have and offer you helpful / informative / funny / idiotic advoce .
  7. Use the force ... I remind myself that the calmer and more logical you remain , the better chance of getting it right . But then I don't really push myself much anymore .
  8. He appears to have mislaid his logic as well , or traded it for some considerable testicular fortitude . EDIT : His videos ... it's all special effects / clever camera angles / wire work .
  9. Awww , an extra for you then , Ogre .
  10. I'm surprised you were able to type this topic at all , I would have expeceted severely injured wrists . Tough luck on the rim and fork .
  11. I'm amazed that your services aren't called upon more often , given that some of us like to ride bicycles quite vigorously sometimes , to put it mildly . I won't be attending the event , but can you tell me why my lower back seems to hurt less now it's cold outside , even though I ride just as frequently ? I thought the cold would be even worse for joints / cartilage ?
  12. You're all missing the obvious answer : A handlebar mounted handsfree kit with holder and built in speakers . That , or a cheapo belt clipping holder .
  13. Round about figure , wheel , geddit ? Nevermind , I suck . I think we'll be able to make a better estimate if you mention the colours of both hub and rim and whether the latter is 20" or 26 " .
  14. " Hey baby , wanna make sweet trials ? " Those forks ...60mm travel @ 5 lbs...probably no damping , poor rebound and even if they were half decent , rigid is where trials is at . ( Except for certain American riders . )
  15. Incorrect , surprisingly . I recently opened a topic on the U.S forum ( Observed Trials . net ) and their own estimation of participants at all levels in the U.S was around 1000 ( ! )
  16. Oh boy , that looks like a whole lotta fun to ride . Hope stem ?

Dutch crip reprazentin' da blueness y'all ...
  18. Add one to my score of useless , uninformative posts
  19. Correctly set up , they can easily rival Magura HS33 , and at lower weight too . The key is carefully matching pad type to the rim , and cable choice is crucial . Not sure about using 'em on a Mod though .
  20. I suspect he was referring to the saddle itself .
  21. Neat lookin' build on the Woodstock . Good to just have fun on the bikes and not get overly geeky about pure trials .
  22. Another vote for Base's TA26 frame . Sure , it ain't high end , big name exotica , but for the money it's a killer little frame that seems to meet your requirements . Short back end = manualable ( not by me though ) and stable and obedient on the back wheel . Just make sure you discard the supplied bashplate immediately and deny ever having touched it .
  23. Very well done in a lot of ways , some very skilled riding and I love HDv , looks great . Looking forward to more .
  24. Possible solutions here .
  25. Good work , I'm really fond of videos which capture the vibe of a ride instead of focussing solely on the moves .
