  1. VERY happy with mine , a 2007 in white . It's light and comfortable without restricting field of view . Bonus of me lookin' awesome whilst wearing said protective headgear :
  2. I was considering adding that location to T H I S topic , but the whole Nazi / holocaust vibe is still a pretty big deal where I live .
  3. A magnificent handlebar killed by a poorly manufactured stem .
  4. I guess it was a waste of time that so many of us took the time to write detailled WiKi articles .
  5. Couple 'o my buddies loved it , but say it's all terribly commercial . I didn't know it was sufficiently famous that you folks in the U.K had heard of it .
  6. Oh cool ! Flattery indeed ! I thought some advice and encouragement on via PM might help , but didn't think you'd actually attempt to replicate my bike so closely . Turned out really neat , good luck with the sale . EDIT : Fixed link for you :
  7. Been experiencing considerable lag for a while now in the certainty that it's not my poop PC , spyware running or the FBI snooping my hard drive . It improved for a few days after I logged out and back in at the start of each session .
  8. The remains of Machu Picchu would be a killer spot too : ...except for y'know - the Peruvian Army discharging firearms at unwelcome tourists .
  9. Awfully nice ! Reminds me a lot of Echo's ES series ( yup , I'm that old . ) That thing as light as it looks ?
  10. Great job , is it a Xen ?
  11. Ummm , strangeness indeed . The hidden dangers of recently awarded seniority ? And on topic : Always been Endohopper and do not intend to change , despite having never really mastered the eponymous move .
  12. ...Then spake Adam unto the multitude , saying : And they among the New Members did fall silent in awe of this revelation . I've rarely seen a question so decisively answered , Adam . I guess one of the only variables could be technique - whereby a rider with poor technique is unable to effectively apply his / her flexibility , so must compensate by , as you English say " Givin' it some beans . "
  13. If you botch it , you can always simply dissasemble the whole thing , provided you didn't damage any spoke threads / nipples . Try reading the recently deceased Sheldon Brown's wheelbuilding guide , and take your time getting it right .
  14. Tell me you wouldn't attempt to gap that loading bay ...
  15. If you mean your steerer tube has been cut too short , then there's not a whole lot you can do about it , unless you're currently running an unusually tall headset and replace it with a VERY slimline one . Don't trust any setup that leaves more than 7mm between top of steerer tube and stem top unless you have outstanding dental insurance .
  16. The version you seek is entitled " Witness : Walworth Rocker's dub " and features a killer bassline .
  17. Godamn ... killing a fellow human for daring to express individuality - yup my faith in humans is steadily declining . I work in a prison , and see average looking people daily who ruin another's and thus their own life and they explain it to me in terms of " frustration , envy " etc . Guess what , pal ? That's called being human and these situations offer us an opportunity to constructively solve problems and learn about our poorly evolved species . The f**kers described in that shocking article are welcome to visit our " D " wing , that'll have 'em crying for mommy .
  18. Was gonna reccommend exactly that . On what basis did you reject it as a candidate ? If you're concerned about strength , don't worry - the issues with the first batch have been rectified .
  19. Good on you , fella . By your posting , you're clearly a genuinely helpful , knowledgeable and funny human . May the um...force be with you .
  20. I agree it is kinda pointless to post asking how strong a certain component is , unless there is known to be a faulty batch . When it comes to strength it's pretty much impossible to offer solid advice as variables like rider weight and correct , careful installation and maintenance also play a role in product life expectancy let alone ...dare I say - unsmooth riding / poor technique . Let's not forget also that some companies - Koxx especially , market most of their stuff as intended for competition ( thus neatly covering themselves from warranty claims ) and as such will fail sooner if ridden frequently .
  21. It's really a matter of personal prefference , and shoe " fold " needn't be a bad thing , certainly prefferable to an overly stiff sole . Whether you prefer platform or caged pedals as long your shoes offer plenty of grip and a bit of feedback feel , the only other consideration is a decent design / colour . You could get all geeky and weigh 'em for that ultra competitive edge . Many riders including myself prefer skate type shoes - Vans in my case , and with regards to trials specific shoes Tartybikes offer a good selection .
  22. An interesting take on a contentious debate , well explained aswell . Certainly in the fledgling days of our sport the distinction beteween Mod and Stock was useful and mods certainly had an advantage over what were at the time literally stock XC frames - tall , heavy and with wholly unsuitable geometry . A brief comparison of , say Koxx's current offerings of both types are radically different from back then in that contemporary designs are designed from the start with trials in mind . Now that weight , geometry and choice of materials has matured over several generations both types are largely identical with only small advantages being noticeable for certain manouvres . Because of this , ALL modern trials frames are optimised for intended usage so wheel size is pretty much personal prefference , and aside from small advantages , can be ridden at equal levels by an experienced pilot . As a result , any accusation of cheating is unfounded and can better be attributed to poor technique / timing / heavy finishing componentry . Y'know - like someone choosing to still run a saddle ... well that's my excuse
  23. As trials riders and presumably imaginative people , I expect a lot of us visualise good lines across most places we see . It seems that the forbidden is always the most fascinating , and it holds true for places we'll never ride , too . I work in a Prison whose excercise yard features a series of walls and concrete tables that I suspect were designed specifically to taunt me every time I see 'em , and will remain forever devoid of tyre marks . That's the premise of this thread : Session impossible . I'm certain a lot of us suffer from I.O.E ( Innapropriate Obstacle Evaluation ) syndrome and secretly long to ride over the the gleaming cars in that dealership showroom , perhaps gap the benches in the House of Lords , or hit those rails in the Death Star . What impossible spots beckon invitingly to you ?
  24. Interesting , and they offer a brief technical explaination about the mechanics involved . Possible weight penalty , though .
