  1. I considered typing out a huge essay on encouraging enthusiasm among the uninformed , community spirit and nurturing aspiring riders , but I settled on this spectacular piece of photomanipulation .
  2. See , if you were to marry said athlete and then indulge yourself with afforementioned "fit girls " , Mr. Tunnicliffe would suffer emotional trauma at your wanton betrayal and his once legendary riding would suffer as a result of spiralling depression and low self esteem thus destroying that which attracted you to him in the first place . " Behold how thy adoration casts down the Gods ye worship . "
  3. Yep , that's the answer - if the question is : How can I induce severe cardiological problems , violent mood swings , ruined metabolism and pathetic egotistical arrogant behavior . On the other hand enjoying riding a bicycle and appreciating every incremental improvement is actually good for body and personality . Disclaimer : I am bad at sidehoppin' , but my point stands .
  4. Just to clarify - the grinding disc is laid across the rim , and if correctly done the edge never even touches . As such it's impossible to actually cut through .
  5. Always were good lookin' bikes especially with Vees and what seem to be spanking new tyres . Are you sure that's a on the back ?
  6. Wow ! Classic trials bike , ridden to great effect by Mr.Akrigg back in the day . I expect it accepts a regular 1 1/8th A-headset .
  7. A fine lookin' bike indeed . What kind of tensioner do you intend to run ?
  8. Smart marketing to mislead uninformed people with big numbers .The Hi Fi industry does the same at the low end - quoting huge RMS power ratings whilst neglecting to pay any attention to the circuitry and components that actually deliver the signal .
  9. Neat logo , and I vote this one : ...for the prevailling triumphantly . Full album out soon ? Hotness - keep us updated .
  10. " Do you know Tony Hawk ? " Yes really . Not even have you heard of or are aware of , but meant as in do I personally know him . An American Skateboader . Admittedly 't was some 15 year old Dutch kid that asked , but come on - radically different sport and geographic location , dude .
  11. Was the reflective cowl( silver conical thing) destroyed ?
  12. Folks posting links to photos / videos presuming that we have an account at Bebo / Vimeo / Obscuresite.co.uk .
  13. I habitually consumed vast amounts of weapons grade ganja when I lived in the U.K , then quit when I moved to Holland . Yup I stopped in the land where it is cheap , legal and governmentally regulated good quality . Go figure .
  14. Good show ! You can save quite some weight by removing the bashplate , given that you're running a ring . I was always worried about the narrow rear triangle preventing a fat rim being used with a V brake , but you've put my mind at rest . In this photo : ...it looks like your crankarm is warped slightly ?
  15. Facebook is kinda handy for keeping in touch with friends and family in distant lands , but a little wisp of my soul evaporates everytime I'm informed that "someone has invited you to join a zombie penguin mega funwall cute gift poker quiz club ."
  16. Perhaps more / better photos and a description would yield more replies . Does look good though , and I'm a big fan of these frames . I'm interested to see that you're running a fairly wide rim with what appears to be a well setup V brake . What rim is that and are you still able to achieve an O.K pad alignment ? I've been considering going wide rim too ( instead of the current Mavic D-521 ) but am concerned about the brake arms protruding excessively resulting in leg impalement issues . Either way - looks like a lot of fun to ride .
  17. Call me a trials geek but the first idea that occurred to me as illustrative of overcoming adversity is the by now infamous "buckyinleeds.jpeg." But seriously , Googling terms like adversity , determination , overcoming etc may yield some results .
  18. Similarly , I think the Republic of Ireland does the whole dots vibe as standard ?
  19. Is there some way to encourage posters whose queries have been resolved to share the answer ? As opposed to a " sorted , can be closed " post which leaves anyone reading the thread with an anticlimactic end , and is frustrating for anyone hoping for the same info . So , uh ... share your solutions , humans .
  20. Whoa ! Sick 360 from static .
  21. Very impressive level and variety of riding . I'm surprised there hasn't been a mass exodus of members abandoning this forum for the B.M.X one .
  22. Pah ! The internet was little more than an experimental project at C.E.R.N when I went to school ! Damn , I'm old

    Risk

We should welcome innovation , but in this case the absurdly large disc would be prone to damage / warping whilst probably adding a considerable weight penalty . First footage of this I've seen , though , as there was a picture circulating of a ( horrible ) bike thus equipped literally years ago . I'm not entirely certain which problem this is attempting to solve , because existing conventional rim and disc brakes already offer huge , controllable stopping power , let alone with modern trials specific pads / grinds . I seem to recall a recent thread asking if we even need such excessive stopping power at all . Also both the rim and brake mounts need extensive modification and the rim needs to remain perfectly true . You never know though , we may see Mr.Tarty stocking this one day , but I'll stick with a carefully set up Deore V-brake . EDIT : The caliper seems to be at an inconvenient ankle snagging location , too .
