  1. Kinda have to agree here , if you're uncertain which tools will be needed then you're probably better beter off consulting your LBS's spanner monkey . For an idea of what is involved , check out Sheldon Brown's excellent guide . Once learned , it's immensely satisfying .
  2. Exquisite control and smoothness in the worst possible circumstances and he's ridiculously neat at backhovering too . The riding style and line choice reminds me strongly of Felix Mucke .
  3. You're welcome to join me for some killer street in Holland , but sadly we lack any real natural spots . P.S Thanks for the wheel - superb condition !
  4. Failing that , you could simply disassemble a conventional Shimano casette and use the harvested spacers from that . Most bike shops are happy to give 'em away as if it needed to be replaced due to worn teeth , it's now scrap .
  5. Looking good buddy , congratulations !
  6. Deore arms are just fine , though I'm not fond of the levers .
  7. I've been very impressed with the Geman Trial Markt shop . Very knowlegable , good pricing and rapid delivery .
  8. Sounds like you mean a fufanu or abubaca ( is that right , B.M.X fellas ? ) where you jump off while turning ?
  9. Damned right ! If you have time to read , you didn't really need to go yet .
  10. I can't imagine ever going back to Maguras . I suspect a lot of riders fit Vees and reject 'em within a week , whereas I usually find that there's a brief period of " settling in " where the pads wear to the rim's surface and the cable and housing settle properly . Once correctly set up , presuming good cable , pad and booster choice the brake offers oodles of controllable power . It's ashame about the weight penaly incurred by needing an adapter for most modern 4 bolt frames , though . Strangely , I find that while choice of all the components are crucial to a healthy setup , the arms themselves seem to make little difference , like the fellow who downgraded to Promax ones reported . Shameless plugging of my Vees ( Deore arms ) on my new Karbon :
  11. Ye lol triles bikz R gr8 innit ? Welcome ! A refugee from the sadly deceased O.T.Nzzz ?
  12. Gosh ! It's rare that a mod appeals to me , but that looks like a lot of fun to ride .
  13. Commendation for outstanding services to Trials related entertainment . :king:

    Insane!

Dutch television campaign to encourage the ( mandatory ) use of bicycle lighting during Winter .
  15. Once the headset is compressed and held in place by the now tightened stem , there's no reason to keep the top cap on . The cap and it's bolt do nothing to hold it all in place and if your stem's gonna slip upwards it'll do so any damned way , bolt or no . Still curious to hear Mr.Tarty's opinion on this matter , though . Outside of warranty issues for incorrect / incomplete use is there any mechanical risk involved here ?
  16. Brilliant , and with the promise of better to come in next episode highlighting the U.K scene . Thanks for the upload - nice quality , too .
  17. Does no one go out on Saturday nights anymore , or are y'all just now returning to your homes ?
  18. Had anticipated having to work another night shift , but got called off so stayin' awake to stay in rhythm for tomorrow's shift . Had a pretty sweet 2 O'clock in the morning ride just now .
  19. Holland's an hour timezone ahead of y'all , am I allowed in here ?
  20. Working in a rather isolated hotel during the off season with the recession in full swing means that I haven't seen a guest all night and am watching over an almost unoccupied building . There just um , isn't any damned thing I should be doing . Kinda wish I had my bike here , I reckon I could tap the reception desk cleanly . Would make for great security camera footage as well .
  21. Another night shift which I intend to occupy with forum browsing , drawing and an occasional cigarette .
  22. No dude , enjoy unproductive hedonism while you still can . However laidback , a job still requires you to voluntarily surrender your freedom for 8 hours at a time . Fortunately , I'm the only member of staff present and can do as I damned well please untill / unless guests arrive .
  23. Greetings , fellow nocturnal humans ! Might as well start posting here regularly since I'm working night shifts . Hotel concierge during the quiet season means lots of time browsing forums and free food , plus it leaves my days free for riding & generally hanging around my appartment . Life's lookin'good !
