  1. Great weekend. thanks for putting on such a good event. was pretty good observing on the saturday and then riding the sunday, nice and relaxed and went round with me old lil friend Tommy Oliver, i think we were both as bad as each other, we both had a hard day for 2 laps, but got our fingers out on the last lap, it was all down to tommy, he inspired me to keep going, depsite 8 crashes 4 in a row on my 2nd lap, i thort satan was after me. was good to see the 2 old boys having fun and there was deffinatly a more competative edge in that class John, i am sure Neil will be back for a win at blackpool so watch yourself. hehe. Congratulations to all the winners, specially Ben who managed a lap of 2 on his final lap, i thort i had done well with a lap of 6 on my final lap and still thought i could have got it down to around 3, but big respect for such a good ride. Fred, Mick and co for marking out but also for observing too. anyone got the picture of the bunnyhop to log in Fred's section which i managed to clean?!?!?! was the only section ALL day that i wanted to get through clean. Waynio PS im a qualified first aider, i just didnt tell you how many crashes and wounds i had sunday. i have actually never woke up on a monday morning and laughed at myself so much with how many bruises and war wounds i had on my body. was good fun though, all in the name of the sport, you dont get better if your not falling off, think im covered for 3months now. shouldnt be falling off for yonks..........................NOT!

  5. can i change my ride to an observationer???? as i will be coming down, but i wont be competing at the world championships in italy. therefore i see no point me taking part but will be at hook woods and blackpool to observe??? if you require observers. Wayne.
  6. might have a space in the van for the lift down. i will see how it runs this week. just got it back this morning and as you could put it, shes a bit rough!!!! haha. if someone or anyone wishes to share fuel costs thats cool. Wayne.
  7. congrats to the boys for qualifying and doing so well. a big shout out goes to Dr Drei!!!! on cleaning the qualifying, cos most of them sections were insanely hard and pretty tech. goes to show, he matched Comas top dawg. hopefully see most of the guys next weekend at hook woods. Wayne. i was their to "train and play" just wanted to get an idea of what i needed to practise.i think the best description is : learn to ride a bike with a blind fold on and count to 3 quickly and hope you dont bash your balls on the stem/top tube or in the rear brake. hehe. really tech n balancy stuff was good to see/learn from.
  8. i was going to say, the log section was set out differently this year also. more or less the same place but the logs were erected differently Wayne.
  9. kool. see and speak to you tomorrow ash hopefully see anyone and everyone else there too. Wayne.

  13. just got my bike out of the car to box up to go to Bercelona. will take some snaps and try post them up in the next 30mins. Wayne.
  14. what would have been funny is if you had accidentally fallen off there and we would have won the competition then am glad i had you and neil on my team on sunday john, i felt i fitted in well with the "older" guys my ankle is stronger than ever now (my left one) but i seem to be getting an odd twinge in the right one. im sure Si the physio can advise me i was going to start adding a couple more pallets to the top of that drop just for the old laugh, would have been funny to ask if people would pay me to drop off higher, i wouldnt have cared how high it got, i would have done it just for the money to raise for cancer research. Wayne. PS Barabara, any news on how much we managed to cunjour up and raise on sunday?????
  15. i think you usually dinf that in your back.................(i think) hes laughing that much it is going down his spine. us northerners dont know how to talk you see. but we sure know how to have a good gaff. Wayne.
  16. inspirational and something to watch and learn from...... probably one of the best videos iv seen in ages, just generally ripping it up and just riding for the pleasure of it. aint seen you in ages rich, must have a meet up in bristol or london, or even down your end some time. really enjoyed the whole of them few minutes. Wayne.
  17. have i been there pat??? i cant remember. hahaha @ Rob when i went to dan/daves before xmas, i did think dave was well under 25!!!! as rob says he comes across as one of the lads, all he needs is a bike and a helmet and gloves. Wayne.
  18. hahaha you cheeky sod ben!!!! iv been doing it since i was 16 when i started part time at aire valley. am now 24 (25 in sept) FORK! its 8 years still not as old as you are eh hehe. ye, you can owe me that hug next time i see you luv. iv heard scottish hugs are pretty good. nice and caring Wayne
  19. there better than Rohloff's there thicker and stronger, just how we like em in yorkshire TRUST me, i should have broken 5 hangers this weekend, and i still havent broken one, thanks to this little beaut. Scott, grind or wap off the bit that sticks out, IT deffinatly does not then get caught on sidehops and such forth. Wayne ^^^ LMFAO @ Andy MBK rider post. i was just thinking half link chains and no front teeth myself.
  20. after reading a hand full of posts on the 1st page i find myself thinking. WHY a pic of a tuck???? why dont you try ride straight up half these jock off walls your sidehopping up??? or try upto front wheel???? just something different to the norm.......theres more to trials than sidehoppping. and i think THAT is where it has lost alot of its style, Akrigg cant sidehop 50" but everyone likes to see his riding because he isnt sidehopping his bike to death. PLUS its much harder to get up something straight on than it is sidehopping, no matter what anyone says, the power used in a sidehop and technique is no where near as hard as working out your pedaling technique and massive power required to jump up something face on. or even pulling a massive hook. PS i ride natural and street, so i wouldnt use that as an excuse or something against another rider, i just feel that you have a bike with 2 wheels, use the 2 frigging wheels to ride at things as opposed to using you bike like a uni cycle or pogo stick. just my opinion on the matter, sorry if i come across an old moaning git, but iv been in trials for 7 years and iv seen it go from, MTB frames to trials specific frames and yes its good to see progression etc, but sometimes it just needs a bit more "riding" at things as opposed to hopping your t!ts off at things. Wayne.
  21. i think it will be interesting. and i think also that stock bikes/riders are becoming more technically minded riders like mod riders. Just look at Cesar Canas, he looks as comfortable on his stock as he did his mod, the advantage and disadvantage of Stock Vs Mod is the weight. at the end of the day each rider adapts to his own machine/bike. he rides that bike to the best of his ability. i think blaming a section for not been "set" to specific 20" or 26" is something that is mind over matter. No matter how good or how bad a rider, you can ride at everything and anything, weather your bike fits in a gap or not or a 20" does and a 26" doesnt, its horses for courses. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. i think some people wont travel to the worlds as in the top class elite/master they wont acquire a position that they feel happy with because they are down the pegging. this is fair for anyone and everyone who turns up, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. i wouldnt care if i rode in a competition that had 30 entrants in master and i came 30th at the end of the day i have took part and put in 100% (or i would have hoped to have done) therefore if iv enjoyed myself and done my best and i came 30th, il take it with a pinch of salt and get on with it. Wayne.
  22. oh, i created a post in the chit chat section about how well this tensioner stands upto a good old yorkshire beating!!!! cant believe how strong it is, landed on it a good few times with ALL my body weight on that and the mech hanger and neither budged or bent. Top product and i can see it been extremly popular, IMO much stronger than a Rohloff, ok it might not be them few grams as light, but there sure dammit stronger. iv got 2 Rohloff tensioners that are bent all over the shop on the main arm part, as there only 4 or 5mm thick. ALSO just as an "option" i modified mine, if you look on scott's picture from behind, where the prong sticks out to the right, i have cut mine off perfectly flat and inline, and it doesnt catch anything. Wayne.
  23. Alfie lampkin won the limbo competition (yes, thats dougies young one!!!) he was on a push along bike but still managed to duck low enough...... It was good to have Dougie, Martin and Harry Lampkin there too, was good to have some local famous people there, and the hard work that these 3 people put in was amazing, Martin giving out all the orders and all the lads listening and doing as they were told, he even asked me for pointers of what should go where and how well privelaged. Thanks to all who turned up and rode aswell as all who turned up and spectated, i had a read through an article my good friend neil raven wrote and it just literally sums the day up even with the atmosphere we had in there, i dont know HOW he does it, but what neil writes just makes you feel like you were there and gives a crystal clear idea of the atmosphere. Wayne.
  24. as pat says ^^ ^^ ^^ you dont get sponsored to walk around with your hands in your pockets and not do owt. id rather look like an odd job and a spare tool and get noticed than not at all i have to admit though, i was a bit cold half way through the ride, had to have a big hug off big pat Wayne.
  25. Hi All, just thought i would let people know how pleased i am with the tensile tensioner. i modified mine so that the adjuster arm doesnt stick out. (il take some pics later and post them up) Just a comparison to the Rohloff tensioner, its loads stronger, stiffer and doesnt bend as much, iv had a rohloff on my 26" bikes for some time now and just get annoyed when i do something and just catch or land on the rohloff it bends and moves. Not sure on price and not sure on how the other onza riders are getting along with those, but i fair knocked mine about yesterday at the easter bunnyhop on the 8crate stack and it just didnt bend or budge at all. il take some pictures soon. Wayne
