IMO max-t if this shop is going to be trials specific, the person running it needs ALL brands and components with upto date stuff, if they havent it honestly wont be sucessful. Aire Valley is sucessful with Trials but it could not run off trials. Its fair to say Tarty is sucessful for mail order, yes they could poss have a shop but then theres all the insurance and trading policies and stuff, it gets into the nitty gritty and bills like this on top of everything else over comes how much your raking in. The internet is so infront of everything else its old news by the time its in shops. Wayne.

From a walk in point of view, id say that the shop i work in is probably the best trials shop, but i do tend to keep as much as possible in, i know we may not do "echo/zoo/gu" etc etc, but we have most/majority of what people want, and usually have all the new products people want to see, if the shop doesnt have it i personally usually do. its hard to stock as adam has said EVERYTHING in every colour and size and have it in a shop hence why mail order is probably better (ish). im off to try the headtube modification, that would for certain affect stiffness at the headtube. but hey, it keeps all you boys talking about him and his bike i think its different, might be stupid, but again, his dad owns koxx, he can do as he pleases. Wayne.

Paris Or Barcelona? Which Is Better To Ride And Where Are The Spots?
Waynio replied to Rumplestiltskin's topic in Trials Chat
if you fly to barcelona you just have to use the "tube" to get to where you need to be, pretty easy really. always something new and exciting to do as porter said. i am hopefully going to go back ASAP. would really like to go back on the sea defence and also alot of the street i missed out on. Wayne. -
If anyone has got some pictures of ben travis that i can use in an article in MBUK as part of his "Rider Profile" it would be greatly apprecaited, he sent me some before he left to Australia. but between me sending them onto the relevant person they have been lost and i no longer have the e-mail. i was hoping someone who knows ben quite well may have some? Damon? Adam/Dave @ Tartybikes? Steve @ Heatsink? could do with a good 2 or 3, preferably with a size of 1.0mb or above. Any help would be much appreciated. Wayne.

Spot the Aire Valley jersey eh? "diving board" LITERALLY. was quite amusing the diving board. wouldnt have been nice to face plant off it though. Next time theres a comp there (apart from september) we should include EACH master/elite rider a trip down the DH track thats a very good section in itself. i can prove it Wayne.

Paris Or Barcelona? Which Is Better To Ride And Where Are The Spots?
Waynio replied to Rumplestiltskin's topic in Trials Chat
Barcelona, i think porter will agree with me on this one. was so much to go at....... Paris, well its french and its not too good, security is pretty keen. Barce was awsum and really does challenge anyones ability to street riding in particular Wayne -
hahaha he likes his Maccy D's!!!! i dont really like scotland, it rains WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much, and way too often, its ok when your riding a DH bike and dont mind getting piss wrapped and muddy upto the eye balls. but the weather could have shown some respect and been nice. Nice sections, had a bit of a bad afternoon, went early, had a mad drive home, was back and at home for 9pm, so was pretty happy after that. Muddy bank section was awsum section 7 was nice (a bit knarly) the one thing that made my afternoon was, i looked back on a performance that was by far my best, but did NOT consist of a 5 all day. just had rotten luck with the stupid 1's n 2's. wish id have had a 3rd lap for "1" would have been alot happier. Boyes got my trophy, il have to get it off him this week at some point. Wayne.

try getting hold of an SD5,SD7? or even Arch rival? iv got somewhere at home a FULL set of Arch Rival 4 i think, there a couple of years old BUT still brand new, with SD7 levers, you can have the lot for £70.00 including postage, thats front and rear with front and rear levers. OR i think i may have some SD5/7's cant remember which, but they will be brand new and maybe £50.00 Wayne.

they were doing that Ash for a university project they were making 12 pairs of forks in the jig so were "moving" it more frequently. if you ring them and ask them now they probably wouldnt do it altho 400mm would be nice on a set of 26" forks. if your pretty smooth (dependant on which moves you predominantly do) carbon forks would be fine. You tend to know when carbons not too well, it starts to creak a bit. Wayne.
-
oh ye, ash were there a few of them cheap on ebay at one point? 1095???? theres no fun in that though, there should be a trial held each year, where only bikes with a wheelbase of 1065 and below can only be ridden you could call it the "PRE 1065mm wheelbase trial" i bet it could put alot of people that are smaller on a bit of an advantage might have to try organise a fun event like that. Wayne.

un52,53,54 are just progressions of the years of the LX square taper b/b, its just a number really. but it relates to the b/b year etc. 68mm shell 127mm axle. Wayne.
-
had it e-mailed to me this morning. i quite like it, rear disc, horiz dropouts, would be awsum if it was 1070 wheelbase and +30 b/b and rear end around 385ish. 71 headangle too Wayne.
-
There not too bad shaun. Them ones are for sale, as i dont use them any more, iv been there done that and had an extremly light bike, i think them forks weigh around 600grams!!!! the 420mm ones are 670 or somewhere near. mine have 200mm steerer length and from dropout to crown race is 380mm. Wayne.
-
who has been using these for ages? would be interesting to know. its deffinatly not a coust copy? is it? it dont look like 1, and it doesnt look long enough i think it looks nice. its going to be a new Zhi model. Wayne.
-
iv got a set of pace ones, 380mm from dropout to crown (which is quite short) this does limit the flex in the forks. iv got mine for sale if anyone wanted them, they would probably fit a mod pretty well, and a stock it does shorten the wheelbase a little bit (which in some cases works quite well!!!) with anything carbon you just have to be "carful" dont go bashing them round like you would an ally set. mine have been fine after i had a new disc dropout put on as i ran a 200mm rotor when the forks are only designed to run a 160mm. Wayne.

Give us a ring Pat if your struggling or when you get up there. youve got my mobile. Ben is living the life of luxury!!!! as usual Wayne.

Hey ben, this is going to be one thing that i may be better than you at altho by the time you get there i may be in hospital from going down the DH track am off up with one of the sponsored DH lads on thursday so will be having a blast. make sure you take more than your trials bike. Anyone else going up early doors to have apractise and maybe a bit of a do on the DH track? have heard its £20.00 for the "gondola" between 10am and 3/3.30pm it takes approx (without falling off and killing yourself) 6minutes to get down, so runs will be thick and fast. the pro's come downt he track in 5min 20ish (and a bit less) What day are you going up Ian? any chance you can go up thursday/friday???? come on it will be pukka. Wayne.

Does The Trials Forum Create Murderers
Waynio replied to trialschallenger's topic in Member Organised Rides
hahahaha you probably asked for it bongo Wayne -
nice bike buddy!!!! really does look fab, its nice how the colour of the rims looks exactly same as frame, as sometimes the rims and other colours of the other parts can be a slight different shade. Reminds me of my van as it is the same color. Wayne.

Very good article!!! The pic of manning is awsome! Like Jonny said though, read martyns part on the left, that really does need sorting, if someone asks someone how to do it, it doesnt take much to "give em a hand" the write up and pictures (as usual) are great well done mike Wayne.
