panaracer cinder front tyre in 2.25 is sumot like 500g they do do a 2.1 which is about 450g and a 1.8 but would be too narrow. the 2.1 would be best then on the rear use the "OLD SKOOL" favourite, IRC el Gatto.......... now thats a light rear tyre but id be expecting a few punctures :S :S but is deffo the best compound and lightest put together sort of thing. i think there around 700/800g Waynio............................

if the bike has a 20" x 2.5" tyre on its a 19" wheel as it will have a massive depth tyre sidewall, if its one of the 20" x 2.4" it will be the standard 20" wheel. Waynio...................... id upgrade the cranks,n not worry about putting the freewheel on the front keep it on the back. bars and stem to upgrade?

an even better pair than that and are £5 cheaper than that too are the new "Thor MX" gloves, super thin and great for trials, the colour ways arent that good but they are absolute dogs nuts. they are exactly the same as those race face gloves yet White on the back with a bit of black and the palm and thumb area on the forehand is brown. well comfy and extra thin. seen as though there MX style gloves there sort of designed to be thin for our use aswell as moto cross. its not about the weight of the bike! its bout how you can manouvre it about...... Geometry adds alot to how a bike will ride, your bar and stem setup also adds to making the position feel great or not so great. ignore the weight issue and just go for durability and see how you get on, as i was always told you'll never get bigger if you dont put the effort in, so i build a bike using heavier but more durabel bits instead of lightweight bits that break the piggy bank and pocket then break after a few days or even weeks. you tend to notice after only a few days when your bike is heavier you feel fitter and better for it..........i did any way when i first build the "Waynio Mk1" as that was a steed, steel frame steel forks, big rims big tyres. ;) :S Waynio........................

it will need to be a LONG talk. lol cos it will take some organising. for the people interested in going to france i will let you know you will need to let your insurance know that you are driving abroad.............this can become a problem with some insurance companies............ but the english stuff we just need to puts dates to places and not make a ruish of it take us time and chill with the still. Waynio........................ il see you later this afternoon bucky...............were off out street riding somewhere new tonight if you fancy it?iv got a belting place instore.

i dont even know how to get there ali, all i remember when i went with mark was going up all the back roads. Can yuo get it it by using one of the junctions of the motorway? and if so could someone give me the directions? cheers people. Waynio....................

what bike do you ride? do you have a long or a shortish bike? if you have a short bike try taking off from two wheels to two wheels i found in the past that with a small bike you can really get into throwing it around as yet with a long bike if you go onto the back wheel preload tyre then jump up at the same time you will find you can nearly go to the moon!!!! the tyre compression part is a big part as well as putting the jump in there too. TRA - advice is needed here and CLS & Tunni :) :S a good one to do is watch Tunni's rear wheel when he takes off its as if the tyre is flat and all the height comes from the compression then his sharp snappy pull up on his bars. Waynio.................... ps if you wanna go bigger you have to go longer!.............its a well performed art and it has been proved.............the end :D" :) :P

im with zoojames, the heatsink blue pads on a normal rim no grind would work immense, purely through the softness of the compound the lever may feel a tad soft but i dont think many people will have any problem with it, if you want a brake to work you have to sacrifice something..........to me the lever being spongy isnt really a problem you've just got to think that the pads lock on and feel great when they do, then its spongy cos the pads are so soft and working to hold your brake. Waynio............................... it never affected my riding when using the blue heatsink pads but when people got on my bike they noiced that it was spongy straight away? but isuppose if there used to a rock hard pair of pads its a different matter, at the most it would take you 5-10minutes to get used to. :) :S

i deffinatly wouldnt be using a JJBspecial or even a asda/walmart special full suspension bikes to do and trails.............i put some suspension on the zebdi and ride trails on that would be really nice too as it has a short wheelbase and short top-tube so would give you a really quick and easy to manouvre trail bike...... yo dude, if i was you id just turn up and ride their!!!!its the best trials/street place i have ever been to the sections are made out of street style obstables with mud and clay and allsorts around it...........personally i think most of us will see you there in september as you wont be dissapointed how good it is if you enter. :S :) Waynio............................

Mike i dont think riding 24" would be a problem the categories are mixed now i will bring it up at the next tyke trial AGM meeting and sort it out for you. it would only really really matter if it was a british round as its tykes and fun and a great gathering of different riders i wouldnt see it a problem for you. surely there is some "younger" members on the forum? what is their opinion on the "Start" of this topic? as its the younger lads we need to get into it more as when lads (usually) get to the 17-20odd mark they tend to find booze girls and rock n roll!(you can have rock n roll ne way it just fit in with the words :) :S ) so i think this is why some of the lads loose interest when there older, younger lads i was just curious in what they would like to do? and what they can do through the competition scene? There is a possibility that we will be going here on sunday? the other alternative was to be going down to porthcawl on saturday night and spending a full day down there?on the sunday (edited) peoples opinions. i will edit the post with the correct place etc as soon as i find out after i have made a couple of phone calls to people when i get to work. Cheers Waynio....................

O yes! sounds like a plan to me, if you seperate the 2 into say a "France Roadtrip" then an "England Roadtrip" it make sit easier for people to arrange instead of arranging 1 lot of 2weeks which could be tricky we can arrange 2 of 7days or whatever it will be. i can deffiantly drive and if you wish if we wack 80% of the bikes in my van we should be radical for everyone else getting in the cars? if people agree with that? i think we should preliminary book the roadtrip in england sharpish to get more people interested? when i get to work il look@ me dates and check me stuff out. see what sort of dates we have to play with. i know July/August are good through no trials due to it being the worlds, :ermm: :( but that might be too late for some people? Waynio..............................over and out..............

yo dude, the stems are probably made in the same factory yet one says zoo and one says viz aswell as there being different rise and lengths there wont be much between them. lower rise would be ok if you use a higher rise bar?always try keep your riding position similar as it will make you ride and your bike (if chainging frames etc) ride very very similar and then you dont have to keep adjusting your position of bars and stem etc. Waynio.................. do you mind me asking what set up you have at the moment?
-
yo tim, put Tyke trial and send your ACU and a Tyke trial form off and you'll be sorted mate. if you want the form il upload it to the forum? or even into theis thread so people can print it off? Waynio......................

i knew it was something like that barbera couldnt remember exactly how it was..... so personally for £10.00 it covers you completly in case of injury and due to time off work, iv got some kind of policy with my bank that if i get whip lash in a car accident i can claim alot more benefits as i have complete 100% full health yet if i was to claim only £60.00 per week on statutory sick pay it may not be enough for me to live on so i think each week i would receive £350.00 instead of just £60.00 (statutory sick pay) so its something that obviosly the bank dont want you and hope you dont use, as it would be something that could affect your life in theory like disability etc etc. but its there JUST in case kinda thing. it costs me something like £10.00 PER month........... but is a good example just like the ACU stuff. does anyone know the link for the cad program that at one stage was going round in which you could put a few measurements on a frame to see what it looked like i remember doing one and thats what i used to design my 2 frames but have lost the link to the site? help is much appreciated. Regards Waynio.......................

yo dude, im only 5ft 6ish and iv just got an 1100 koxx levelboss. and to be honest if i was you id maybe get something that is a little bit longer you can find that street riding is harder (Bunnyhopping mainly) but gapping and tyre tapping pedalling upto and up stuff is far far easier! like a 1065 Levelboss a Marc Caisso frame is 1065 my personal choice i am sponsored by koxx uk but in other ranges your going to struggle to find something that has the perfect geometry and is light, the woodstock is very light but the geo metry has to be set up in and around the set up of bars and stems etc. a base/ashton are great but look what martyn has done he has gone to 1060 wheelbase as everything on a longer bike without going stupid is made soooooooooo much easier, i thort i would look a bit out of place on a long bike but to be honest it doesnt matter (i dont think i look out of place) but it sure does your confidence in doing things alot of good and the geometry plays major part!!!!! you get on any koxx levelboss and have a go! they are the nuts strong as hell, not super light but ride light due to geometry design. that is what 10 world champions do for you (if thats right its near enough that anyway!) Waynio...................... hope this helps.

the rohloff one that Xdream is using i will second that its the dogs nutts! as iv had mine about 2-3months and waked it and bashed it, i aint taking ne pictures cos its absolutly raped!!!!! and i havent broken a hanger with it, only when landing straight down on it has it done any damage as going side ways on sidehops its inline with the drop out therefore not bending hanger but if going far enough up then wheel slipping off edge all weight over one side i have bent 1 hanger like that and thats what raped the tensioner. but its still kool. Waynio........................ expensive but worth every penny as Xdream will probably agree?
