they will be the koxx red pads maybe? i cant remember the pads he was using at koxx days. but id be pretty certain they would be koxx ones. Waynio......................... from looking at all the different compounds as we have now started to stock koxx in the shop the pads in particular the blue, red and green i think it is are quite a soft compound for anyone who is wondering what the different colours are for. but going off feel and bite " there is a difference between a couple of pairs.
  3. that was a hydro form tube that they thort lets run a weld down it kinda thing. lol. Seam welded stuff mark is really swoosh!!!! its like 2 supa dupa lite tubes (on the marin full sus anyway) welded together. so both pieces are more or less identical. Waynio..........................
  4. yes it was!!!!!!!!!!!lmao it was bout 20mm thick or summit!!!!haha.my mates work at orange you should see the new bloody jump frames MsIsle n Sub Zero!!!!MAHOOOOSIVE downtubes. but look so sweet and sexy. Waynio........................
  5. am waiting for a trials frame to be SEAM welded like the marin full sus frames probably not too strong on the down tube unless they made the tubing thicker but sure would have the nicest looking about it. Waynio......................... wish i could weld and id have hours of fun messing around with making bike frames. cutting and shutting.
  6. cos it got copied that many times.hahaha. its still one of the nicest looking from my point of view (monocoque tubing :) (Y) ) i think they have just made it better phil, seen weaknesses and made it better. We could all say the same about Echo like 2-3years ago when they did the ES range, i think everyone broke, so they made them better. if you look through the koxx range i think only the Caisso hasnt been attempted copied, the XTP has been literally copied by the new HI-FI from the headtube point of view (obviosly geo changes) the levelboss has been copied a million n one times over (so that gets a new look too and i have to say most people may not like the new one but i think its awesum its a change!) vinco has been copied geo wise by too many people (companies by that i mean) Waynio.................................. EDIT: Am biased towards the monocoque tubing as our best selling brand @ work is the Marin Full sus bikes and there so nice. purely because there monocoque and anodised frames.
  7. you also have to push the front wheel across and not up on bigger taps. the bigger you go the harder it is to go straight up, i find it easier like rolling my hands on the bar so it goes up to start with but half way through going up i try push forward and down more. Waynio......................... 60" the coustelliers were tapping that iv heard. maybe i seen my mate lovatt tap about 58" he only learned it the other day................... :) (Y) (mmmmmmmmmmm now i smell something dont you?)
  8. just think if a warranty problem came around? the uk have no intention of sorting it and they shouldnt have to. JUST like the chris king scenario. Waynio........................ you have probably bought some from uk which is a good move and is deffinatly going to make your life easier if you ever have to make a warranty claim.

    New Pedals

Joe you dont need all this shit so the following applies! if someone walks upto you and says is it a good idea to make something that wont break like normal things and are alot nicer and stronger? "err no mister its not worth doing just fforget about it and go home!" i dont think so, the chap had a word with Joe's dad who does motor bike parts and then said good idea you should make em for bikes, pedal bikes, he called into where i work and i gave him 3-4 different pairs of pedals VP club roost etc etc. and he knows just how SH!T those pedals are. the titanium cages WILL be replaceable (if produced) and should be on a sealed cartridge (bearing) system. magnifique. but if your pedals was to weigh like 200/300grams and your a weight freak i think you would actually buy a pair weather it be £200 or even £1000!!!! people have to be different! and have different things that not many people have. if people dont want them they wont buy them but we have to get a rough price to start with and the guy said maybe around £200. the foot rests are worse they are like £100 n odd quid and are tiny! at least ours will be more significant. Waynio........................
  10. Why have more pick up hence less reliable? when you can have a ood old Hope Mono with like 24 pick ups? and it doesnt blow up in your face? Stick with things that are proven young boys and girls,it really is simple, a good old fashion saying comes into it, "DONT FIX SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN!" Waynio........................ in other words you dont need to improve something thats good, strong and reliable already?????? most people wopuld say the same about chris kings people dont need owt better than a king? (i personally am not a fan of chris kings and wont be ever again!)
  11. ye, straight from the importer......... soooooooooooo people check to make sure your decals are right way up and read ONZA not AZNO (Y) :P" ^_^ weve had a few in the shop which have had them upside down..............is pretty funny actually especially when a new customer comes in and says "wots that bike?" pointing to a t-pro and the onza is nealry spelling GZUO quite amusing :S Waynio....................
  12. people are scared of hitting the wall stephen. the best way to go at it is this: DONT BE SCARED! the wall is only a wall at the end of the day you aint going to die on it. make sure the front wheel hits wather it be 5,6,4,3,2,1 inch below the top of the wall itself. push bars up and forward and make sure you bend your arms and legs (Y) :P Waynio................... you will then have tyre tapping to a tee. when i tyre tap now i try break the move down to show people how to do it, a bit like other moves such as sidehopping and stuff.
  13. ye same thing if he can do it fair play. but i think people are missing the point, dont be put off by what other people can tap and for this matter just go out to enjoy yourself and have fun! never ever take the TF tape measure with you it lies to you!GUARANTEED Waynio............................
  14. Trials forum tape measure out some where here i can smell it :P" i dont tend to measure how big they are in inches i stand next to it and see where it comes to (Y) i was doing 50" with a push (in auz last year when i was learning to tap on my Ashton) Now my 1100 koxx will probably do that most of the time, but i dont know what 50" looks like, i just ride upto something and try do it, i dont really measure it unless i do it and it takes me like 100 goes and i think jeez that took some doing i wonder how big that is. like the tap in auz i couldnt get it and iv got probably 20/30minutes worth of tyre tapping the same wall in which is 50"! but got it in the end then measured it approx 1,000 goes later and extremly tired arms managed JUST to get the tape measure out and measure it. Waynio................................... Does anyone have a tape measure that has these sizes missing? 53" 54" 55" 56" and 57"? if so please call me as iv probably got them. you can all have them back if you like?

    New Video

S!CK! cant wait for next week fletch! id best bring my balls with me, it seems someone is taking some serious street action, that is the sweetest vid iv seen ina long time! music went awesum with the explosive and extreme style of trials riding going on!!! thats gotta score a good 10/10! A* work the fletch Waynio........................
  16. hahahahha "all try-all stuff is crap imo" that makes me laugh............... have you ever ridden with any tryall cranks? have you ever ridden with anything to do with tryall? if so no probs but i very much doubt you have ridden with the try all cranks. the ones that dont bulge look awesum! iv got the bulge cranks and there still as hell. the only thing you have to do (with VP caged pedals) is grind the edge off them. but to me they have the better looks. they have gone through some pain ne way! to give you an idea on how stiff the try all cranks are, my frame flexes far more than my cranks! and iv got a good 3-4mm clearance each side of b/b and my cranks touch the frame (right foot, mainly when im gapping and putting very extreme pressure through them) the power transfer is excellent on them. now someone say that about some square taper cranks? the new monty ones are isis so maybe the same but i cant say anything bout the monty 1's?the best person on monty cranks would be Chris walker as he has ridden them for the last 2-3years! Waynio.............................
  17. medium grind suprises me? (Y) its either got a grind or not, if the grind is worn off then nowt will work. if you use a different disc you will either get a good or a useless grind simple as. give them time like DW@hulltrials said. Waynio........................... either give it a bashful grind!so dont be shy with the grinder and then they'll work! You can always buy a new rim but you cant buy a new life!so hit that god damn rim hard with that grinder :- :S it'll keep you smiling all day and you'll wanna gruind it the same again! dont forget METAL CUTTING! and put it over like a bin or something, and let it vibrate around it adds to the fun of the wheel jumping around :(
  18. i was going to have a word with martin hawyes about the 6 gear rule as last year id say at least 50% of riders did not run gears and its stupid?EDIT for us 26" riders to run gears when if your in a section you dont ever think wait a minute, lets change into 6th and get some speed up or even 1st as its a bit steep up there.EDIT You only get done if you get caught with them. its more adement at the worlds as far as im aware but to have the rule put in place it has to go through Japan (Y) so as delegate of tyke trial i might give it a miss in going into all the effort for getting martin to try and then they say no :) Waynio...................... i think iv filled my entries out just gotta pack em and send em off. hopefully today with 2 cheques too.
  19. id still say they are the strongest fork about at the moment, there is also the Lite guy forks with the one piece alu steerer that would be as strong id have said. Ashton forks are spot on too, i aint had a pair snap around the disc mounts altho they are different to fatty forks bigman. My koxx forx have done great too, i was a bit weiry of going back to steel steerer and bonded into alu legs but have tapped harder hooked higher and literally battered them alot more than the average joe could do and there still straight as a dye and mint, i dont think there much either £70-80ish. Waynio..............................
  20. chainstays are best (Y) :) you can higher the b/b on them by doing sidehops to the left and right for a day.... you could go plus 10-30mm if you wish. at the time they were a great bike but now witha ll the new technology of frame making and design there is so much stuff better out there. if your a light rider then ye, but if your a heavy street rider id be saying no. Waynio.......................

    Manitous

more sounds like top out, the little bit of travel at the top of forks when ther yunder no pressure at all, then when compressed fast a little bit make a knocking noise. on fox forx its due to oil not being around the sponge seal in the top usually a night upsuide down is ok for them BUT manitous and such forth as they have poorer seals you cannot leave upside down, try preloading the fork a little bit?or pumping them a bit and seeing if when the oil circulates around the fork that it may stop, its not guaranteed to but its worth a try. the only forks to have in this world and especially england as a country is Fox OR Marzocchi :( :) by far the best in this country, due to good seals and quality of materials etc etc. manitous are made of plastic :) inside any way, rock shox might aswell be the same :( poor build quality. yet the fox forx assembled in america and Marzocchi in Italy :) :D top bannana, just as we have always said its an italian job!" Waynio.............................
  22. kool :( are they both stock bikes? or is yours joe_b a mod? i just remembered from about 5-6months ago seeing some pictures of Joe Mahers XTP long with blue decals looked PIMP! Waynio............................ Am a rough boy for an XTP :) would be nice to have one but i dont want to trash such an expensive and nice piece of kit. il stick to the Levelboss and Bealay (hopefully going to get a bealay soon)
  23. pete the trial brake is amazing! cant get over how much power it has. have a go on it when i next see you. hopefully tomoz to sort your wheel out. Waynio............................. Joe have you still got your XTP?
  24. no not much joe.......... after 2005 bikeshow on the monday i contacted fred and he sorted me out a deal. i was extremly happy with it and the new bike is amazing! love the 1100 am going to try a shorter one i think too maybe a bealay frame. everything is so much easier with longer bikes. Ben savage convinced me and i personally think that going from a 1040 bike to an 1100 some things are harder (ie street moves like bunnyhopping) but the main things that you need in comps there so much betta for. Waynio........................ Pete bring bike in to have tomorrow (Sunday 7th may) and il sort it out for you. then we can go riding after work too. im sure everyone else will be out too bucky and co......................lovatt flash etc etc.
  25. they may take some tiem to load up as there is quite a few of them (Y) (Y) but i can see them.i think there is about 10-12 of em. Waynio......................... i could do with some of those piccys for the tykes website bucky, but il probably steal them from here to use on the site.
