RIGHT, I AM NOT SAYING THAT HE HASNT DONE ALOT, I AM NOT SAYING HE HASN'T PROMOTED TRIALS. and by the 'anyway mart, thought you had quit' quote, that is because last year he announced that he had stopped riding trials! and thats second hand info, dont go shouting at me! and to answer you questions mark, i havent been a high up member of the comitee mark, but that is because i am currently busy riding the comps mark, you know, the ones that are wank in a field with no spectators mark. i havent been an ammbassador for the uk mark, and never want to be either mark. but i have been pushing the uk UCI comp scene at many world cups this year, with only 2 or 3 people attending from the uk for the past week, i have been riding at the dirt bike show, at stoneleigh, a four day show with too much other work involved,, that makes a lot more than 168 hours worth of demo'ing and organising, and more than 12 hours worth of driving in the past week also, so doing demos infront of dirt bike fans with there young kids isnt promoting the sport to a younger age group mark? no? and mark, instructional dvd question, ok when your starting there good to watch, but personally would never use my time to prduce one! and im not saying that he hasnt done alot! AND if i piss people off on the internet i am never gonna make it. so the world of trials now revolves arouind this f**king forum, thats full of arguments, then f**k me, im knackered, my aswell nip downstairs and sort me self out with the bread knife now ant a mark? ONE cracking example of a person who pissed off the whole of the uk, and got banned from biu, FOR NO REASON may i add, is danny butler. if you think that if i piss people off im done then why the f**king bollocks has danny butler been 4th in the world cup, in the mens elite catergory, behind kenny,vince and caisso. personally i think the best thing he could of ever done was move to uci, and that came about because everyone in the uk f**king hated him, but the french f**king dent, cus the ride to enjoy riding, AND PROMOTE COMP RIDING. top french riders, train the younger riders how to be better in comps, loadsa people in the uk do that, none!!!!! f**k about!

hello boys, after opening this months mbuk, i was very surprised to see a nice topic about the butlers!! (by the way very well done to who ever wrote that article.) BUT was later shocked after reading the supposed 'star letter, i believe that, that guy is very single minded and i believe that if he was into bikes, he would appreciate all aspects of 'mountain biking'. TOSSER! and i would also like to point out that there was more good riding being done in that arena than there was crashing. secondly, mr martyn hawyes, the guy who is meant to be pushing trials riding and making it as big as possible, and make new young riders want to ride comps, then why is he writing articles saying things like "i've not competed at all this year, preffering to perform shows for lots of dif people from a marketing and sponsor pleasing perspective, this is more beneficial than riding in a wood with no spectators." i believe that this is giving the competition side of trials a bad name, and is very disrespectful to the hard working clubs and also biketrial uk. i thought that mart was meant to be pushing the sport to be as big as possible, and any kids that read his article are gonna think comps are complete balls. this isn't promoting comps at all (cheers mart ) also.... according to martyn aswell, children are going to start riding trials because we are all in fashion and dress smart to ride in etc and not because they are impressed with our riding. I dont see what he thinks is wrong with riding in trackies, they are comfy and practical. AND most riders at the british nationals are actually wearing their nice blue british team kit, yet you are describing them as 'chavs'. so basically you are saying that if you wear trackie then you are likely to be recieving an asbo sometime soon. P.S: i also would like to add that mr ashton also called us trials riders wearing traackies chavs, is there a connection here? from re-reading your interview a few times, i also noticed you say that the two most professional riders in the country, who i know to wear trackies to ride in, both at national and international levels.! Making them the only chavs in the country to not be on the doll. After reading further through the mag, i also noticed the lovely SIX page article on danny holroyd, also saying that comps are not the way forward and we should all start riding bmx on trials bikes. He says that all mountain bikers are 'heavy, 'jerky' and old school'. not bad for some one who hasn't even rode or attended a trial for a good 4 years. it also says that "riders like danny holroyd are taking trials riding away from comps", this is possibly the biggest amount of bollocks i have ever heard. the comp scene is bigger than ever in europe atm. And he goes on to boast about the fact he has never won anything (claim to fame) but still believes he is at the top level. lol They (again) go on to say that comps are not exciting and are boring. P.S: mart i am sure that you have to have your legs fully protected at a national event, and i thought woods were crap, with no spectatots watching, whats the point!!! woith a profile/ free hub, your moving the cranks right, firstly you will gewt movement from the slack in the chain like inur said, then you will get the engaement. with a freewheel, your moving the cranks, you get the engagment then the movement from the slack in your chain, and all this is before your wheels even turned an inch! i have probably had more free hubs and freewheels than most people in this topic, going through three kings in the past year!
