Any audiophile will tell you that 6x9s are compromise speakers bought by boy-racers. The same stands for minis, especially when you are mounting them in a (structural) steel shelf... The way forward is to have front components and a sub in the boot, built into the side of the car opposite the fuel tank for preference. This is what most decent minis have (ICE wise) Even better than that would be to have two subs built into the cabin near the passenger seat (rear) although most people can't do this for obvious reasons...

Nick's got a good point on that one, especially if you tune it at all (a stage 1 kit will give a great day-to-day engine on a 1275) You'll just have to find an understanding MOT tester who's prepared to fiddle with the mixture to get it to pass. ^_^ Do you know what wheels its on?

No you can't, don't be silly. If you wanted to do that you could either get braze on mounts or a v-brake plate. I chose my BMX, as did Bongo, but the best part of trials is the fact that you can have a load of fun on just a curb, without all the effort of building jumps etc. Downside is that you can't get anywhere... ^_^"

Be very wary of rust in the sills, scuttle (under the windscreen), rear windscreen mounts and passenger storage bins, this is costly to fix. Stainless exhaust is a definate plus, but can you afford the insurance on a 1275 (bear in mind that the fuel consumption isnt that great on the 1275s either) Go and take some pics and then post them here and we'll be able to give you a better opinion.

Unfortunately you can't target specific areas to lose fat from (sit ups will tone the abs, but won't do anything to get rid of your belly) Just make the effort to go to the gym a couple of times a week, you'll feel better for it too.

The beast is too far away, and needs to much work. This car hasn't been maintained by an enthusiast, its just been owned by an idiot (hence the hand-painting and the filler!). I like the fact it's standard, bit of a blank canvas just like my last car. :-
