Hey All, I've got a problem that started today with TF and the NatWest website not displaying properly. I'm using SeaMonkey 1.1.4 and Windows XP SP2: Any ideas? Cheers

Hmm, thinking that having to leave at 7.30 for work tomorrow after a little pub session tonight is not going to be a fun game (yes, it did take me several attempts to get this post even vaugely legible)

Unfortunately the work one is up at Mira in Nuneaton otherwise I would. I managed to do it today by importing a side-on photo into AutoCAD and dimensioning it from there, not very accurate but it'll have to do! Cheers, Chris

Hi Guys, The company I'm working for at the moment is using a Ford Fiesta Mk2 to crash test some traffic bollards and I'm wondering if anyone has one (or has access to one) and would be prepared to take some measurements for me so that I can draw up the front end for use in a test rig? Long shot I know! Cheers, Chris

I take mine up and its very useful. Only really use it a couple of times a week to go to Sainsbury's or over to campus with my canoe. Still, wouldn't be without it!

Funnily enough I started kayaking when i went to Nottingham uni and haven't done much (any) riding since as it seems to take up most of my time. Still not any good mind although the uni club are a good bunch of guys and the trips to Wales and Yorkshire are enough to keep me amused when it comes to the wet stuff....

For those of us not in the know, how do you go about using private trackers? Any particular sites anyone recommends?

Will be going to the Halomy Hotel in Naama Bay for a couple of weeks, hoping to do muchos snorkelling and Padi Open Water, can't wait I tell you! Whereabouts are you staying? Also anyone got any answers to my original question? Hehe

Very nicely done advert Bongo, one thing though: You can see your personalised plate in one of the pics but you don't mention in the text (unless I missed it) what the deal is with the plates? Best of luck with selling it!

I do realise that I'm dragging this post up from the depths of Chit Chat but probably better than starting a new thread... I'm thinking about getting my eyebrow pierced but I've got a few questions: Does anyone know anywhere good in Nottingham to get it done? I'm going diving in Egypt on the 17th of June for two weeks and then sailing in Italy for another two weeks, would it be better to wait till after this? In the summer I'm working in a factory (although probably not too much hands on work), will this affect the healing and can I wear a retainer to keep the boss happy? Any other observations and tips appreciated.

If you read carefully then Still an awesome deal though (I'm considering that one with a Samsung U600)

Looking wicked Oli, very jealous! You'll have to let us know how you get on with your central locking kit, I've got one that I'm trying to fit to my Seat Ibiza with very little success, they're quite tricky beasts... Keep up the good work lad.

I've got an E900 which I've had for about six months. It's a good looking beast and really nice to text with. The problems are: The cancel button is overly sensitive and does get annoying but once you're used to it its fine. The camera takes quite a long time to load up. Scrolling through photos is quite slow (compared to a SE phone) It can play video in landscape but can't show pictures for some stupid reason! It can't take photos in landscape mode even though the camera button would be in the right place if it could. Apart from that it's great and I can't really justify changing it just yet! Samsung PC software is also pretty good and the camera is good as long as there's enough light. Hope that helps...

Ey-up, Just been looking at the jobs thread and I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with this: I'm a second year student at Nottingham Uni doing Mechanical Engineering (MEng) and looking to do some summer work for the money and my CV... I've applied to a local firm that makes performance powerboats, Toyota in the midlands, E-On and Unilever but does anyone know of any other companies that take on undergraduates that aren't in their final year that I could apply to? Cheers for any thoughts, Chris

I bought a Seat Ibiza Mk2 at the beginning of this year for about £1000 and it's been brilliant. Mine's the 5dr 1.4 version which is essentially a mix of mk3 Golf and mk4 Polo but with better (imo) looks. The handling is nothing to write home about but its quite torquey for a 1.4 and insurance is cheap, will hit about 100 on the motorway too. Starts first time, every time and returns quite a good mpg value as well.

Hey, Long shot i know but i thought it'd be worth a try, please email this to anyone you think might be interested! Three of my housemates are moving out for the next year (2007/08) so I'm looking to fill their rooms. The house is in Radford, on Radford Boulevard, just opposite the Castle Trading Estate (with the ever-famous Aldi!) and is a three storey, five-bedroom mid-terrace. We've got three bathrooms, a kitchen with a dish-washer, tumble drier etc. and a separate lounge. We also have on-street parking without the need for permits and a good sized, secure bike shed. The house has a passageway through with a locked gate which makes getting bikes in and out nice and easy. We’ve got 4mb NTL wireless broadband and cordless phones on each floor with free weekend landline calls. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to Jubilee and 40 minutes to walk to main campus, although it only takes me about 12 minutes on my bike. The rooms we’ve got to let all have double beds, a good sized desk and a wardrobe and are quite large compared to most houses. Two are on the top floor and the third is on the ground floor. The rent is around £55 (varies between rooms) a week and the bills work out at around £25ish a month per person. Currently living in the house for 07/08 will be myself and my girlfriend, Nathalie Mason. If you’re interested please PM me or email eayzct@nottingham.ac.uk Tis the second house in from the right... All the best, Chris

It works for me, goes straight to TF. On 2mb NTL. Is this what's been causing the slow load times recently?
-
Cheers Waynio, although when I say car industry I mean the design/manufacture stage rather than retail I'm going to apply to a local company that makes racing powerboats to get some composite experience i think...

Hi Guys, I'm in my second year of a Mechanical Engineering (MEng) degree at Nottingham and I'm attempting to look for some work experience or an internship for the summer of 2007. Have any of you had any experience with applying for this sort of thing? I think I want to be in the car industry ultimately so i'm considering applying to Toyota in Derbyshire... I can either be near Nottingham or near Southampton and i'd be looking to work from July to mid-September. Any help/thoughts appreciated!

I think it's something to do with the server because mine has been doing that recently. I noticed that it loads "bike-forum.co.uk" which is what takes the longest... Not a particularly useful post but at least you know it's not just you. Edit: It seems to have sped up now... Oops

Aye, that's a maybe but i'm in Nottingham at the moment without a car which makes finding a good LBS a bit tricky

Luckily my bike has thumb shifters on the downtube so no indexing I'll send you a PM in a sec pauloliver, seeing as the bike shops near me are a bit crap... Cheers guys

Hi People, I've got an old Elswick racing bike that I use to get to and from lectures and recently the deralliuer got sucked into the back wheel and bent... I ordered a new Sora one from CRC but the fitment is very different (see pics) Basically the mech-hanger is part of the mech and bolts to the frame around the axle, its very odd. Any ideas how i can get a new mech on? I've only got one gear at the moment... Any help appreciated!

Why don't they make the new Nanos in any decent colours. A burnt-orange or a deep red would look class on that shape... Fools!

Ethanol should do the trick but i wouldn't want to go swallowing any... The paraffin taste can't be that bad, otherwise how would the proffesionals do it?
