  1. the vid also hosted as kettlehasballs.wmv??? crazy fooker
  2. bet he had a full down suit with him and jumped out of it filmed that and then jumped straight back in the car and f**ked off home to the warm, he then emailed the vid to mike and said 'mike will you post this up so i look like a hard b*****d rider even though i wear lycra' and mike said 'sure bigboy, see you next weekend x' secrets and lies, i know the truth...
  3. you cheesy mother trucker, image 8 is soooo you...
  4. and your such a twat your never going in my signiture
  5. cool, scrap the prizes, we'll do this as a fun only and i'll keep the free stuff
  6. you dont need to ride it clean, you just need to ride for two minutes. no where in the rules does it say you can't crash and then get back up and try it again. that shows progress... or maybe people dont have the inventiveness to use what they do have. you dont need anyone to film you and you dont need great urban area, you need creativity and a bit of flair, maybe we're asking too much for people to make the most of what they have or maybe people would rather find an excuse why not to enter rather than a reason to enter. this video comp seems to have far less interest than the curb comp and yet this one has a far bigger prize fund...?
  7. maybe if you read the f**king post you'd see i don't even ride a leeson anymore... nope, most do but some who actually give a shit about their customers and their impact on the environment try to do things a bit different. howies.co.uk - thats the way to run a business...
  8. did i say a word about leesons? i've spent the last year on an echo and am now on a monty. what i was saying was that i'm f**king sick of companies releasing new parts just to make more money, the whole industry seems to be going profit orientated and it shouldn't, yes we all have to make a living but at the same time we should all be able to buy decent products and lets face it 50% of the trials parts that are out there are shit and are only available because the company who makes them decided 'that'll do, we'll sell it now and next year they'll be back for a new one'. and lets face it, all onza are interested in is the profits and thats come pretty much from the horses mouth... i dont care whether your bikes alu or steel, british or taiwaneese but if your going to make a bike build it so it rides well and doesn't break, worry about the looks afterwards...
  9. congratulations, how long did it take??? this one is a good post though
  10. your welcome to come and try help organise a comp mark, or for that matter turn up and help support the club instead of knocking it back down... if people dont want comps then i'm sure all us organisers will be happy to have our weekends back... back to the topic now maybe???
  11. or maybe they should all stop producing shit parts just to push up the profits and start building bikes that ride well and dont die... i know onza do a great job of filling their place in the market but you have to admit theres alot of the same old crap being produced by the majoirty of trials companies atm...
  12. surely if you can ride 2 minutes straight at a comp you can ride 2 mins in a video. everyone who did the North wales bike battle managed 2 minutes continuos riding... feeling rather let down at the lack of interest in this comp, am i going to get any entries or not???
  13. nice vid, not a patch on do the goon again IMO. something i did notice which i thought was wierd is how mat's style looks great on film and i really liked it, mike's on the other hand (sorry dude) i didn't like on film at all. both of you are great riders no doubt but the style is very different. anyway, nice vid tom
  14. to be fair everyone knows i prefer steel bikes like leesons curtis and iolo's but thats not what i meant. it just get me the way bike companies now seem to be bringing out new frames just to look different, if they spent half as much time worrying about how it rode and how long it'd last instead of how it looks we'd have some much better frames available. this onza may well ride amazingly too but why the need for the stupid bits of excess metal on the headtube, whats wrong with welding the downtube and toptube straight onto the headtube like the rest of the MTB world have done for years. look at DH bike, about 6/7 years ago they started doing silly shit with the visual design of the bikes adding big CNC bits etc and what happened? the bikes looked great and either rode like shit or snapped. now they're back towards a more normal design and the bikes ride better now than ever before. i'd like to see onza make a frame that looked like a bike instead of an art gallery exhibition and worry about the geo rather than the looks. oh yeah and i think that one 'looks' great at the front and shit at the back but to be fair i still wouldn't own one even if it rode brilliantly because of that stupid excess styling. go back to simple, 8 tubes all welded straight onto each other and leave the CNC machine to make ornaments...
  15. to be honest i'd steer clear of anything like that. as a begginer you dont need the geometry that an experienced rider does, you'd be better off buying a more normal feeling bike and learning all the techniques on that then when your good transfering to a more advanced frame. there are alot of not very good riders on top end bikes and they dont progress very quickly because the top end bikes are harder to get used to. i've been riding for 11 years and i've just gone back from a long control to a shorter monty because i was having trouble handling the length of the bike. dont follow fasion and buy something that looks great, go buy yourself something shorter and more normal and learn to ride first...
  16. is it just me or are bike companies now designing frames just to look good? what was wrong with the classic old tubes that were welded together? why all the cnc crap???
  17. to be fair i see this from both sides because i both ride and organise events. the way i see things: £20 is alot for comp entry however there must be a reason for this price. to be fair i start to feel like its too expensive once we get over £10 and over £15 its gotta be a bloody good event to make me go. however the fort bill comp last year was £20 and it was an amazing event so i didn't mind paying it. i am now however starting to feel the price of comps, the last couple have ended up costing me over £200 when you take in petrol, food, entry, membership, natty tyres etc etc. however if i want to compete i gotta find the money so its either cough up or ride street... membership money: £10 a year is bugger all for what your getting, i've just had to pay up my BMC (british mountaineering council) membership because i'm training to become a mountain leader, thats £66!!! and it'll be another £35+ every year for the rest of my life so i'm more than happy to pay £10 for club membership. running a club is not cheap, freeridetrials club hasn't run many events becuse we dont get enough riders coming and paying entry fee's, the first event we did we only changed £1 entry and that was a mistake, it left us with no money to run future events an the club is now out of pocket big time (no club money at all and about £200 out of my own pocket gone - for what?) i think both sides can help the issue, riders - dont whinge and think about why the prices are as they are, clubs - see if you can keep event entry fees a bit lower and maybe bump the membership up a bit or look for outside sponsorship to help fill the void. if i can afford it and i'm in a fit state to ride, i already have membership and BC license so thats all good but it'll still end p costing me well over £100 for the weekend, thats not a complaint towards anyone its just the price you gotta pay to ride a well organised event that will be an amazing laugh... my 2pence tom
  18. i've just had my weekend cancelled on me so i'm now free... can i enter on the day? cheers tom
  19. sometime last year i found myself adjusting the way i look at life. one of my mates was involved in an armed robbery a few weeks back and when he told me the first thing i thought was 'well thats a new life experience not many people have, use it to your advantage and learn from it'. thats pretty much the way i see everything now, its very easy to be possitive when you look at life like that. i got injured out of all my sports earlier this year, was off the bike for 5 weeks and still cant kayak or climb. however during that time i found an amazing house to live in next year and got together with a great girl so maybe being injuried out was a good thing... just try and see the possitives in life and how the shit ultimately makes you a better and stronger person...
  20. that is brilliant news, i'm coming back from france on the saturday but i'm gonna be there for sure, this is going to be a hell of a weekends riding, i think its excactly what the sport needs, a bit of a mix up with the rest of the mtb world. see y'all there
  21. will this be a uci or biu event? any idea on entry fees etc? sounds good, shame it clashes with a tyke trial but then joining up with other disciplines is a great idea. look forward to it tom
  22. it is legal for an english man to kill a welshman so long as it is done within the hour of midnight on the eve of the full moon and the englishman is stood on chester town walls and the welshman is stood in the grounds of the cathedral. oh yeah and the englishman must use a longbow... *off to find a longbow...* oh yeah and burton upon tweed is still at war with russia. when it was part of scotland, scotland went to war with russia, then england took over burton u t from scotland. scotland subsequently ended the war with russia but burton u t has never got round to it so they are still officially at war...
  23. my mate has one with similar geo to an echo stem that you could have for £5 plus postage...
  24. stretch your ham strings 10 times a day by standing perfectly staight and then reaching down to touch your toes, i can only get just past my knees and dont push it til it hurts because that will just do damage, for gods sake dont bounce and hold the stretch for 20 seconds building to 30 seconds once your used to doing it. within 4 weeks you should notice a difference, pm me if you want any further info tom
  25. ok starting to get slightly concerned by the lack of interest in this. i'm not going to blag £300+ worth of kit to hand oput as prizes unless theres actually going to be a few entries... can you pop a post up if you intend to enter the comp?
