Freeridetrials - Possible Competition 2
spunkey_monkey_boy replied to freeridetrials_club's topic in News
phil i knwow where your coming from and i've watched as many videos of other comps as i could but to run a comp miles away from where we all live is going to be costly, once we've run one and know how things work then we can start to be a bit more adventurous but this venue is good, it'll be a great trial because it'll have a great atmosphere and some fun sections, i'm sure it won't be up to the same standard as the tykes etc but this is our first one and it's sure to be very different from other comps :shifty: we'll look into the pass for next summer etc :shifty: -
ducko might be coming too :-

not definately but more than likely, so long as we can get the go ahead from the harbour master. alex - how the hell did you become a member :P you must have titied up your act, well done  oh yeah and you can use the add reply button at the bottom of the page then you don't have to quote every previous thread (Y) -
i haven't read the whole post because it too damn long but you could end your week in north wales for the comp and do a day at ogwen the following day...
-
it was only a one off because he was the only person to have one built. clive has taken an order recently for another one and he's quite happy to make them if the demands there because i'm considering one when i get my student loan in september :-
-
hehe you know the bike you started with was photoshopped. i'm sure its actually a black mumba that got shopped to look like a pitbull. 2nd generation photshopping :-
-
thats him, he's got steve's leeson mod, currently the only one but soon number 2 will be built and delivered. yeah dave85 is sound.
-
just phone him, he's appaling bad at internet anything, last time i spoke to him i told him i'd emailed him and he said he'd have to get kris to check the emails because he didn't know how to :- give him a call tommorrow afternoon (Y) and i'm sure he could make you a comp beast no problem :(
-
hmm scary stalker!!! :-
-
which is the excact reason i suggested a steel leeson, your less likely to snap it and if you do clive'll fix it. speak to steve a about his leeson mod, i can't remember the TF name for the guy he sold it to but he owned it first. also you can have any geo you want so basically clive could build a frame with the same geo as your levelboss if you wanted... anyway thats enough rabbiting from me, speak to clive about it and he'll tell you what can be done :-
-
well in that case why not do that to your rim and run solid plastic pads made out of the backing???
-
coming from a guy who rides for koxx!!! attitudes like that are what splits the trials world in the UK in half, sorry fletch when i met you i thought you were one of the few koxx guys with any sort of personality and i thought you were a sound guy but shit like that makes me re consider. yeah maybe leeson aren't parts of your long low silver uci bike club but they make damn good frames, have amazing customer service and are a small british company. buying something that does what you want it to and supporting british bike companies is a good thing, having a f**ked up attitude towards such companies is what ruins this sport now kindly shut the f**k up and retreat back under that rock you crawled out of because i don't wana hear any more of that kind of shit!!! keep trials for everyone and keep attitudes like that up your arse!
-
have you tried sand mixed with emulsion? that might work...
-
thats it guys and gals - june 29th yes i know its a wensday and we're not expecting a huge turn out but theres going to be a ride, maybe explore a bit further out of the city than we usually do. whatever happens it'll be a phat ride as always. see y'all there tom erm meeting time and place - we'll sort that out nearer the time
-
iolo your the master of home grown, why don't you start doing it for us all
-
yep £400 in whatever colour you want. if it gets fidely and you want anything extra special then it may increas the price a little but £400 is the benchmark. call him and talk your needs and wants over with him, his customer service is unbelievably good. i've just ordered a booster off him and because my frame is the first ever one he's not sure if it'll fit or not so he's sent it to me to check and if it does then i'll pay him. can't see anyone else ever doing that!!! craig - i'll pm you his number
-
or get the geo you want and get clive to build you a leeson mod, that way when (if) you break it you just post it back and he fixes it

there is also the possibility of putting some nice sized gaps and drops in off the prom and although i've never seen an elite route in the flesh i've riden with phil alot and i think we could find routes that he'd have trouble cleaning  i would be more than happy to design the elite route so long as you dont hold me responsible for the mentality of it :'( -

hey all i'm back and its cool to see stuff happening without my input  few comments i have: 1 - the pics that matts taken of the rocks do not show the true pottential, there are some much much harder routes there and i wouldn't like you to judge the quality of the riding on those pics, maybe we should get some more pics and also continue with the idea of mixing the natural on the rocks with some man made stuff to give the comp a nice mix... 2 - craig - i have spoken to you a number of times on this front, you want to be involved thn give me your email and mobile numbers but what you have to realise is there are about 20 people locally who 'might' be interested in turning up to meetings and i am not going spend the evening getting in touch with them all one at a time, i have better things to do. your right communication isn't great within the club, maybe you'd like to sort out a telephone tree or set up the email database so that communication is improved 3 - to clarify this is the comp i was planning for the weekend before (july) but been moved to make it clash with even less and give us all an extra week to make it an extra specil comp :'( 4 - matt - good on you lad i'm well impressed with your work on this, maybe we should just set in in stone and organise it though, worry about who will/won't turn up on the day, we'll have fun regardless... -
i ride in salomon XA pro'sthey've got a mesh upper which is really cool and they dry really qucik, they're really comfy, get good feel through the sole and they've lasted a year of everything from freeride, trials and MX to kayaking, climbing and walking. i have worn these shoes for probably 300 of the last 365 days and they are just starting to wear out. RRP - £74.99 buy them in a sale and you'll probably get them for £45 or if yoyur a lucky f**k like me you'll get them for £12.50!!!
