i'd use whatever you plan to bleed it with...otherwise you'll contaminate the fluid..? i used water...

as above...i love the hold on my vee...but it's really taken getting used to when taking off on a downslope! EG: on a rock...facing downhill, getting it up onto backwheel can be a bit scary with the lack of bite still...love it...and its so quiet
