  1. i think thats a 68mm though...seeing as it looks exactly the same as my echo, the trialtech etc...
  2. i don't think you actually have much choice with a 73mm shell...the truvativ is a good choice otherwise- i used an fsa platinum DH on my woodstock which lasted a good while..and has the shimano tool style.. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=5593 edit- truvativ BB + this tool is cheaper
  3. ahh noo! please don't give up...i'm moving to swindon for 3 months in 3 weeks time and it sounds like you're the only rider there! see you there... adam
  4. you're going to need to get the other crank off and take the non-drive side out first. Then the drive side comes out "EEEEEEAAAASY".
  5. i personally can't imagine landing in a hook with the front brake off..i don't think i'd get anywhere! Most people do pull it I think, but i remember ben travis (i think) saying that he didn't pull it, then realising he did, then thinking he shouldn't... something like that...pull it i say
  6. phwoar.....looking at your tyres and thinking does he ever actually use this bike!! top
  7. did you just call me a f**king horse
  8. you may laugh...but that reminds me of a jet engine failure I read about where the pilots heard one engine making a nice whiney noise as they flew along... They decided to try and make all of the engines make the same noise by angling themselves into the wind slightly...suddenly all the engines failed due to the vibration (very fast fatigue cycling) and they were f**ked. so...next time you're on a plane...
  9. that's because the weld shrinks as it cools...which pulls on the material around it...increasing the stress in the frame (everytime you do something you are adding the this stress that's already there) that's why re-welded frames don't usually last long...if you can get the frame heat treated after welding (PWSR) it will last much much longer. Temperatures needed aren't that high, and if you can actually fit your frame in your oven..you can do it at home..! but then..most people can't fit their frame in the oven when buying a new oven- take your frame along
  10. you're nearly there...! you can only know certain things at certain times, like the location of electrons, spin etc...it all gets rather confusing... the whole probability thing is a strange concept at first. There's places where electrons should be, like..really really..should be, but might not, and others that they just cannot be at all...these theories don't apply on a bigger scale, and i think thats where alot of confusion starts...the microscopic world and the macroscopic are soo different. Atoms don't behave the same way if they're arranged in different ways- surface textures, electronic properties just completely change! you probably saw that on Hawking's master of the universe...10 dimensions mate..10 freaking dimensions!! get your head around that... found this on wikipedia- sums it up quite well: adam
  11. great looking pics...reckon the last one is best though trails biker and..that's the first time i'v ever heard someone say "down in Glasgow"

  14. that's the zhi...before I got a more suitable stem (the pazzaz)...was just a bit of a mismash of colour looking back! i think the bionic looks very neat... bionic is supposed to have the same geometry as the zhi but it feels pretty bloody different to me! hopefully won't take long to get used to...will have a good session tomorrow after my exam hopefully thanks for comments.. craig- which continental would you recommend? i'v not really looked at them before.. adam
