Ha ha, yeah, I don't get it but I'm not really going to start that debate here.

God I wish they'd do gumwall Aitkens in 26". Just out of interest does anyone do decent 26" gumwalls? I'm not mad keen on the DMR supermoto tread and the Halo twinrails are a bit on the heavy side even for me.

So tempted to jump in here and make my case for everyone to ride cromo forks.

Yeah, I figure the head angle is about 71.5 now. Like I said it's okay. It was never meant to be a pure trials build. More an allrounder for a bit of street/trials and also to be able to go for a hack down the woods. If I get right back into the street trials thing I may look at something else.

You'd be surprised. Forks are only 40mm taller than most 26" trials forks so head angle is still okay and the bb is about the right height with this setup. Only down side is a bit of a lack of clearance up top which I can live with for now. Ha ha, hadn't even noticed. That is a bit trippy

Quick update on the rocket. Got the gusset filed to the shape I want. Just got to get the money together for the clear coat now. Meanwhile I've managed to blag a lend on a rear wheel from my mate Dave who's already been good enough to let me use his rocket frame, til mine's sorted. Just got to paint the bars and the front end's done, short of a brake but that'll come later.

Got my Magura fitted today with the white hose. Heat shrink idea was a total winner. Cheers Adam. Just got to sort the rest of the colour scheme round it now. Next priority is painting the bars black I think.

Finally dug out some pics. I'm gonna call best shinner with this one unless anyone else reckons they got better. Gotta say though, after all this calling bull on no pics I've realised I don't have any of my worst shinner. One above took three stitches. The bad one was five and three for two seperate lacerations. Oh yeah, that IS the bone in the middle one.

Fair enough. Just out of interest, you drill the head tube yourself? I take it you've not had any problems with it? Thinkin of doing something similar but with s custom head badge in the middle.

Yeah, I've thought about just running a tensioner and shifting manually but I think I'm gonna want to change between the two quite a bit. Not all the time but it would be nice just to flick a thumbie and be in the right gear to cruise to the next spot. Main worry with running a shifter is that the 5mm gap between the sprockets is gonna knackered my chain.

Anyone tried this? I've got a 16t already and a 12t on the way which I was going to use separately but now I'm thinkin I might just chuck a 14t in the middle with a short cage mech and a thumb shifter. Only problem, I'm gonna have a 5mm gap in between each cog which seems a bit big maybe?

Looks rad. If it was mine, i'd go for a higher rise bar and loose some of the stackers but still think it looks really nice.

To be fair, so does riding from spot to spot in a stupid spiny gear. Pros and cons to each I reckon.

Started running single speed on my trials bike in the late nineties and I was the only person I knew who didn't have gears on a 26". Now I've just put a new bike together single speed and I don't know how I put up with trying to get anywhere in a trials gear. Think I'm gonna put together a 3 speed cassette now. Prob 12, 14, 16 I reckon.

I learnt to do wallrides from a bank first and then from the flat. Found it easier that way.
