Using Fiveten Freerider as well, they give incredible hold on platform pedals... but if you're looking for a very soft sole they may not be the right thing for you (but i think, fiveten make softer shoes as well... maybe just wait for more replies) Peronally, i#m very happy with the harder soles, as my feet sometimes hurt when using soft soles. Grip is perfect though, and that's what counts for me.

This specific bike is listed as a trials bike for kids, thats why it has a wheelbase of only 950mm. I think (not 100% sure) you could also purchase a custom frame from this company. Like the idea of the "integrated rear brake" too, should be very stiff more pics: My link

You can also use 2 piece of wood (blocks of hard wood), drill a hole in each so you can put a threaded rod (bar?) through. You will also need 2 bolt nuts and 2 washers. This way you can press in the first cup by tightening the bolt nuts. Once the first cup is seated, unscrew the bolt nut and repeat with the second cup -> less danger of tilting (canting?) the cups. (sorry for my probably bad english, hope you could understand it)
