Im the same, just keep buying new jeans. Buying strecthy jeans helps though, and dont tumble dry them either.

from the photo it looks as if there are hs33 mounts on it, presumably the previous rider just ran it disc so the mounts should be all good. I think all trials rims are suitable for hs33 and grinding it may be a good idea as winter is coming.

Welcome to the forum! that bike looks really good for £150. Most people are just using bash rings these days, so unless you have a particular need for a bash plate I'd stick with your current setup. Cable brakes are great for the front, but maybe a larger rider may not want one one the back, so you may want to swap the rear brake for a hydraulic disc or a magura hs33, but only if you find it isn't decent enough.

I'm thinking about getting a 125 to learn on, I hvae no idea about what sort of bike is good, probably looking for something second hand, easy and reliable, anyone have any recommendations ?

Welcome, imo the general public mostly love trials they are really curious and will ask loads of questions and watch you, its not like bmx or skating. rushway.fr has really good videos if you translate it from french. http://www.rushway.fr/index.php/technique/#.Veh5gdyfMic

at least they won't be coming out anytime soon, I'm sure there'll be another 5 years of development on these.

Please help with advice on new second hand frame
ooo replied to littlekarlypilkboid's topic in Trials Chat
Hi, i know you are looking for a lighter frame, but if you are riding a t-rex then every part on that bike will be heavier than a more modern setup. So changing the frame will defo save weight but you will find you still won't be that close to a modern complete. I imagine that as you say you are progressing, you want something more like popular riders are riding. In that case I think it would be better to focus more on the geo of the frame, just get something with a +50mm or more bottom bracket and it will feel totally different. this is £60 and a good deal imo http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEON-X-RAY-trials-frame-onza-echo-koxx-monty-gu-street-/361334267168?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5421335d20 and pretty modern. There is also a koxx sky (+65 or +70 or so i think) for about £100 in the for sale section. or look for an echo pure or onza genesis/limey 4 something like that. -
I have no idea whether that is a good deal at the moment, how well a bike has been maintained makes a big difference too; if you have to end up replacing stuff. The bars stem and forks are all good/correct geometry wise and the tyre choice is standard so it will ride like it should, that's mostly what matters. The wheel set is a decent setup too. it won't and shouldn't feel like a DJ.

Ignore the haters! If you are going to be a weight weenie you may as well break a record, looks very nice in orange too. Have you ridden that rear tyre much yet ?

It depends what style you want to ride, my personal experience is that learning trials moves is way easier on a pure trials bike, and learning bmx moves is way easier on a bmx. I think riding a fourplay held me back but it was really versatile and creative feeling, if I could only have one bike its what I would ride. If you want to progress quickly, I think riding a pure trials bike and a bmx will progress you quicker as street trials bikes are a comprimise between two different styles. But that is just from my experience, there are plenty of people who get fourplays first and do well on them. The main thing is you need to ride for a bit before you can decide what style you want to ride. You will also know what is important in a bike for you. If you get a good deal second hand you can always sell it on when you want to change.

Would love to see a decent photo of that, looks well nice.

These are a bit more atmospheric: you might also like the tron legacy soundtrack, its very well made: Cliff Martinez from the Only God Forgives Soundtrack:

Yeah stuff like this tends to have a lot of names because it is just rehashed musical ideas that keep going round in an endless cycle. Its relatively easy to make as well so there is a near infinite amount of it. Here is some more bleepy sounding stuff to try:
-
If that stuff I put up was what you are after here is some more retro futuristic / retro wave stuff:
-
everything on future city records is that 80s synth stuff, sort of like Kavinsky style, also watch a flim called kung fury if you like that stuff, everyone is bumming it. https://youtu.be/XN_RWFspGFM?t=15s
-
also its worth filming yourself and checking that you are actually doing a proper bunny hop and not just hopping, its really hard to get enough height for full rotation if you are just hopping. IMO Trials bikes are well hard to 360 compared to bmx.
-
doing stuff like that fast makes it even more impressive.
-
In your opinions what would you consider tgs geo ? shorter with a lower bb ?

Several times in my life I have seen someone dressed in full neon; and every time i was disappointed by their lac of neon socks. But this guy is all about the details, the sock choice in this video was spot on. Neon spandex and aerodynamic as f**k, just how I like my trials.

There isn't any noticeable difference between isis and square, but i haven't seen much square stuff available, and in my opinion long term there isn't much point in buying square stuff as if you build another bike you'll want isis or splined and it will be hard to sell on. You have to be careful upgrading bikes, because you could end up spending loads of cash when you can usually pick up a decent full build for £300 second hand on here. It would be more sensible long term to replace the back wheel or replace the hub as cheaply as possible and not change anything else. Then if you want to upgrade sell that bike and buy a custom complete second hand. if you can find the same hub you could maybe just take the axle and bearings out, without having to lace the wheel. put up a post in the wanted section, it should help.
