Anyone Out Around Royston Or Surounding Areas Any Time
Rabbia replied to dpbayly's topic in Member Organised Rides
Ahh sorry i missed this I'm free this sunday (4th) i know where pallets are in st ives and I'm just a noob so can't do much but still like to learn. there is a guy in st neots aswell can't think off his name (ill edit once I've checked) that's after people to ride with maybe we can sort out meeting together for a ride edit: crazy drummer is in st neots there is also euljeune from cambridge who's a good rider to learn from he was very patient with me even when i got a flat and had to go back to my car to sort it there is james aswell can't think of his user here that was willing to ride cambridge untill the snow forced a cancel. in short there are a few of us dotted about I'm surprised that its taken this long to get a response -
I think all saving is out the window at the minute but my way of thinking is that now i have found the limit of the blacks i must be improving as they were easily holding where i wanted when i wanted before so i must be pushing what they are capable of
-
Ok my blacks slipped last night lol roll on the “told you so“ comments end of the day I'm a noob and am just commenting from my experiance so far and untill last night blacks had held fine

Are There Any Riders Near St.neots ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Rabbia replied to Crazy Drummer's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I live in st ives and seem to be the only one riding trials here. i agree its always better if you ride with someone else what you up to this weekend? -
Probably can't ride. i know I'm no pro as I'm still trying to get pedal hops but they hold fine for me. if anything they hold better than my adamant a1 running hs33 greens on an old grind with a bigger massively stiffer booster end of the day its all opinions. i can run around all day shouting the sun shines out of my ass. just because i might be mad enough to do it doesn't mean its true you might think its bull and that it shines out your ass. makes no difference really. blacks and a smooth rim work for me that's my opinion
-
I'm using new blacks on a smooth rim on my onza tbird and with my 14stone bouncing about on them they hold fine
-
Lol definate conversation killer with the postbox lol i might have to try that
-
The only problem with riding is people presume that riding is both wheels on the ground all the time usually at speeds unknown to trial bikes going some sort of distance
-
I've always wondered this aswell as there has been a few people that ask what I've been doing and the out on my bike comment has caused major confusion and when i say its a trial bike they look at me weird and say they haven't heard of that name then i simplify it and say its a trick bike and they always seem to start going on about distance riding and scenery untill i finally click and realise they heard trek not trick so i give up
-
Yeah I've met max a couple of weekends ago he's a good rider and was really helpfull ill try to make it but at the minute I've been collared by a mate who i owe so depending on how long I'm helping him will depend on if i can get across to cambs
-
Would u be alright having a newbie ride with u as i might be up for heading cambs if there's people about. I'm wanting to ride with more skilled people so hopefully i can get better. I'm not one of this people who annoy with the “we have the same bike can we be friends“ crap i genuinely want to learn from better riders. just be prepared for a whole new level of newbness lol i can hop around on the back wheel and sidehop but I'm trying to get the hang of pedalhops but failing misrably at the moment, just to give you an idea of my level
-
Could be up for cambs or peterborough sat or sun
-
Hmm in house trials - its all s***s and giggles till someone giggles and s***s. don't think the missus will take kindly to me bouncing round the house
-
Nice bit of riding done today in cambridge just a shame about the wet and my pinch flat
-
Yep I'm going for it just need to get the louise biting better i managed to get it to stop when rolling but can't seem to get it to lock out
-
yeah £200 is what i said to him and im thinking i would strip service and rebuild it as it has been stored for a while and i would look at a different way of tensioning the chain because the current one is a rear derailier for gears that has been locked in position with a bit of wire plus i would want something thats a little more out the way because thats the side i hop and ive already hit it a couple of times
-
i cant seem to find the thread i thought was on here about drilling rims is there anyone who can advise on how to do it im looking to try it on an old wheel so i can have a go following the wheel building guide on here aswell as making my own drilled rim hopefully a win win situation but i can see me running headlong into a big mess without some sort of guidance
-
Ok here's the spec list Adamant A1 black frame drilled Tryall gold rims with grind on rear red Hope pro 2 rear hub red Hope front disc hub Maxxis Highroller 2.35 rear tyre Panaracer firexcpro 2.1 front tyre shimano 105 rear mech as a tensioner Adamant red 4 bolt clamps for hs33 with chunky ally booster Zoo bars Echo stem Echo forks Fsa Orbit Extreme headset Magura Louise Fr disc Echo bb unknown cranks Wellgo pedals as he's a mate he can't decide a price as he doesn't want to rip me off but at the same time i don't want to either and we both know its not a 50p bike but we don't know what to say price wise any help on this guys?
-
Just wondering which you guys would sugest i already have the t-bird with a hs33 rear brake, maxxis creepy crawler rear tyre and truvitiv hussefelt crankset but I'm wondering if its too small as I'm 6ft3 and fairly well built at 14stone so i have found that a mate wants to sell his a1 and preferably to me but I'm not sure i can't see myself using both. and i can do everything (granted not much at all) i can on both bikes bar sidehopping where I'm better on the t-bird but I'm thinking that this just falls down to familiararity of the t-bird. I'm liking the setup of the a1 aswell. the only thing the a1 needs is a full strip clean regrease and rebuild as its got a bit stiff in places. I'm currently borrowing the a1 to see if i can adapt to it and maybe progress a little. but because its not mine I'm not pushing like i would with mine so i think its holding me back on my choice. what do you guys think would i find trials better on the bigger a1 or should i learn on the onza then think about a bigger bike?

What's happening this weekend anyone roding cambridge?

Front Or Rear Brake Mounts For Forks....pros+Cons?
Rabbia replied to trialsguyperth's topic in Trials Chat
The only difference i can see in having the brake behind the forks is that when the wheel rotates forward and you grab the brake the brakes grab the rim and are forced into the fork so it might aid with stronger braking compared to having the brakes infront of the forks where they will be pulled away from the forks. can't say from experiance as ive never ran brakes behind the forks but that is my opinion from looking at the setups.
