  1. sooo, i'm in the market for some new rubber, already decided on a front tyre. my main question being, what have you run width wise? my nokian 2.3 fits with a little room to spare, but all tyres are different on the shoulders and don't want to buy one that doesn't fit. bit of a think back for some, also what rim were you running with it? (echo urban on mine? 44m) suggestions are welcome too. cheers
  2. cheers for the reasurence regarding trialprod's ability to trade guys, they seem to have some stuff that tarty don't and i'm always going to be dubious of shops in a diff country. was thinking of an ashton pretty cheap frame kit at tarty, but i'd rather have a zoot after a quick comparison, don't think i'm the only one either. uk needs more shops to stock trials bits.
  3. thats a good point, cheaper, in the uk as a frame kit and has a much better positioned disc mount
  4. right - o so was having a look around and stumbled acrosss this , I wouldn't mind something to use for the local commute to work and have a fart around should I feel like it. my question is, has anyone had any experience with trialpod? hows their postage to uk and such? or are they another trialsparts.net type?. or if someone has one kicking about they want to see the back of........ cheers
  5. caustic will strip paint easy, I made my own stripper with pottasium hydroxide flake (caustic potash). only used it for small stuff not much more than a bowl full, a frame wouldd mean filling the bath (the missus wouldn't be too pleased) and will be asking for troubble with that much corrosive liquid sloshing about + fumes are crazy (i know this from experience) or you could make a paste with some would work well.
  6. thats the one oooohhh i'm a dumbasss
  7. isn't dot fluid hydrophobic? dot certainly enjoys absorbing water, as a result of this the seals would have to be resitant to water contamination. my avid code is water bled on an 04 maggie lever, had no problems with that so far and itss been that way for a month and a half. also the boiling point of water is different under presssure, (with a closed system) this would be much higher than it. would boil in your kettle ( the boiling point of water in a car engine is 114c ish if I remember right, and when you undo the cap on the expansion tank you get explosive boiling due to a drop in pressure), I still wouldn't use a water bleed a disc for anything other than trials. to avoid boiling you could use distilled water as it doesn't boil it gets super heated, assuming there are no contaminents in your brake.
  8. hench... haha. drilling all those holes was not fun took forever and it looks fair rough up close. front disk and 04 lever works fine, also use some shitmano levers on my other bike with maggie slaves pad travel is less but they work good too.
  9. avid code 2010 on a 8" rotor with a water bleed, it way overkill and its not bedded in yet. haha what would you recomend a change to? feels ok so far.......
  10. its not too far, a short trip on train. rode liverpool n manchester quite a bit back in 'day, southport and blackpool was a good day too. I did bump into a couple guys in wigan a while back, kinda hoping they'd be on here. was after stayin local 'till I got myself back into the swing of it haha.
  11. well it's been a lenghty abscence from trials for me (like a decade), its always been under my skin calling me back. not being rich or flush with cash i went the cheapass route and spent 200 nikker in dribs and drabs, and so after what seems like a life time its finaly finneshed (ridable haha), still needs a jiggle with some bits so it suits me more geo wise, but it will do for now. just need some one to ride with now, solo shits boring. so if anybody rides in wigan let me know!. enjoy ... or not. super tensioner bodge super booster bodge it was like this when i got it, only a lot rougher i can stick up a spec list if any ones intresed, comment away.
  12. to be fair it was working fine 'till it was left for ages, webley? didn't they go belly up years ago? or was that BSA? I thought axsor were a subsiduary of logun, or they shared patents (that were part of the design of the gemini). plus it says made in sweeden on the bolt housing and webley is british isnt it? when I tried filling it it was leaking all over i'm guessing the seals have perished, the seals on the filler adapter thing are all good. think a trip to local gunsmiths will be best idea don't have clue on year either i've had it like 8 years now and bought it used.
  13. pogs, if you remember them or maybe the're before your time. especialy the shiny ones!!!
  14. is this the kind of thing your after? if it is i've got one you can have, used to have one on my bmx time ago when I first started riding....
  15. after seeing this thread I decided to dig out the old shooting stick, being left to its own devices for a long while i tried giving it some air from the dive bottle and it leaked like a popped balloon! any body on here stripped down their pre-charge rifle and give it some new internals? its an axsor gemini bolt action 2 shot .22 carbine, anybody had one of these? i've yet to see another.
  16. schwalbe big apple, I've never had a puncture with mine on the commute (had thorns and stuff stuck in 'em) some kevlar puncture protection if I remember right.
  17. my Aprebic 'super-light urban' measures 415 and is disc too, curved legs though.
  18. right I just bought a code front brake the 2010 model, the bleed kinda sucks and I wont be using the lever so its all coming apart, two of the pistons are a wee bit sticky, does anyboody know where I can get new seals or a caliper rebuild kit? cheers guys, chris
  19. not bike related but, I went and got some forks to eat a not poodle when were out once, a mate asked me.... "where did you get them tesco forks from?" worst thing was he was a clever git too. when refering to the days getting shorter I said.... "its like it goes dark over night" I have go excuse im just dumb.
  20. noooooooo lol, louder the better for me I like to be the centre of attention and people hear you before you get there too. on the other note it does work fine still but I cant have it break on me, need it for transport, cars are money-pits and buses are shite lol.
  21. worked a treat with the old ones lol, these newer ones wern't too keen all seem to stay the same.
  22. grease is all good with some thin teflon spray stuff, I did try a re-grease but made no difference. I had run the same grease with old springs and pawls and all was fine, till I gave it some tlc.
