  1. The 1.3 does not accept hydraulic rims brakes and I believe the frames are the same anyway apart from the brake mounts.
  2. You can also get a dead skin remover. Which basically a piece of sand paper on a plastic stick. women use them on their feet. They are great for keeping dead skin at bay. that and moisturizing are the way.
  3. Get yourself some hand cream. Nivea do one for men. DO NOT SOAK YOUR HANDS IN PARAFFIN!
  4. The fact that it is new will go a long way to making it smoother to ride.
  5. This could be many things. 1.The wheel could be thin and quite flexy 2.Your spokes could be loose, causing it to move. 3.You cones could be loose. 4.You quick release may be loose. It is not a hard thing to fix, you just need to find out what it is.
  6. Trials is a great way of improving your general riding.
  7. Looking forward to getting back to the UK to build up my new bike.

  8. Nice one. get yourself a set of Alloy forks. They make all the difference.
  9. you can get a full new bike from Tartybikes.com for that price. Stick with some cheaper/ easier to replace parts until your are settled and confident on the bike.
  10. It is a bit like trying to do a wheely whilst standing up. The aim is to get the front end up without falling off the back of the bike. so practice trying to pivot the bike underneath you.
  11. Hey there. The first thing to master is getting your front wheel up onto a step or something and get used to balancing with your front end higher than the back>Be patient with all new things. It will take time. But good luck.
  12. You can use any general spray paint like from Halfords. Make sure you get a good metal primer and use a few coats of lacquer to finish it off. REMEMBER DON'T TOUCH UNTIL IT IS DRY!
  13. 1. A helmet is a must. You could go for a pisspot/BMX style but you get hot in those. A good MTB one is fine 2.Shinpads are a great addition to have. It does hurt a lot when you dig your shins on the pedals 3. I tend to use downhill gloves as they are really tough and the palms have less padding, so you can feel more of the bars. 4.Go with either skate shoes or proper MTB/Trials shoes. They are designed to grip and do a far better job than trainers. This next one may sound odd but, If you wear any rings then take them off before riding. My wedding ring really digs in when I grip the bars. Buy some hand cream, because your hands are going to get really sore.
  14. why use water? Why not just buy proper oil and make sure the air is out of it with the syringe.
  15. Hollowtech II bottom brackets are fairly strong. If you have a good crank set and a decent bottom bracket, there is no reason that it shouldn't last a fair while. I doubt you will be riding in much mud so should be good for ages. Don't go lower than an XT BB though.
  16. Sounds like you need to go shorter with your stem. If it is still too long for you then look for a short 26" frame.
  17. Try and steer clear of Shimano chains, They are quite harsh on your gear. But then again Sram ones are really soft. 1/8 is usually a BMX chain and 3/32 is for MTB
  18. Get really comfortable with small movements first. Learn to balance well. Then start by doing little manuals whilst balancing on the back wheel. Keep practicing, it will come. don't try to go too big straight off. I ended up on my arse a lot like that.
  19. If you are going to do it yourself then, 1.Make sure you have a place indoors. 2.Rub it down well before hand. 3.Go easy with the coats. Lots of thin coats are better than a few fat ones. 4.Let it dry fully between coats. 5.flat it well between coats. 6.Have fun.
  20. Are you using a hydraulic or just standard cable pull brake?
  21. The Ryan Leech videos are brilliant. They were a real help for me.
  22. Just make sure that you apply the same pressure all the way around the rim. So you don't end up with a wavy breaking surface.
  23. This is definitely normal and it is such a great sound too.
  24. 31 I am living in Kigali, Rwanda. I am a downhiller really but have been riding and racing for about 18 years. I am just waiting to get a new trials bike and get it shipped over here. The natural scene here is pretty cool. Although there are some fairly good man made structures too.
