  1. I'm planning to build up an old dual disc ozonys curve 24 soon. I have a 26" crewkerz that I love, but I've been wanting to try out a smaller more playful pure trials bike that I can bunnyhop and throw around a bit more easily. I would have jumped on one of the 2019 GU frames, but I can't get over how a 1075 wheelbase just seems sort of wrong for this wheel size. The Jitsie hybrid 24" looks interesting, but I want a higher bb, and there's just so many things that I really wish they would update about their designs (standard headtube, ISIS bb, 116mm dropouts, 160mm disc mounts? LOL). For rear tires, the Vee Flow Snap 24" seems interesting to me (it comes in a super low duro too): https://www.veetireco.com/listings/junior-specialty-flow-snap/
  2. Awesome to see a rider taking the plunge to try one out! Let us know how it goes. Edit: Do you have any intention of opening it and taking out the grease? It looks like I9 uses grease now instead of oil like they used to on the Torch hubs. A friend of mine has an I9 Torch Classic and his skipped every now and then until he cleaned it out. "The pawl mechanism of our Hydra, Torch Road, and 101 hubs has a distinctive sound. It has the sound of nothing more than the highest-quality sprung pawl system. Most riders report that the noise is inaudible over the wind at higher speeds. It is loud enough to be heard, yet not so loud as to detract from the experience you are trying to enjoy. Our stock FH lubricant is Dumond Tech Pro-X Freehub Grease. For riders who enjoy a louder hub experience, simply wipe down your drive ring, apply Dumond Tech FH oil and you will notice an audible difference."
  3. Coust and ADMs are nicer in my opinion. Not to mention the fact that the jitsies don’t come glued in the backing for some reason?
  4. Hex sounds like a good choice. Nwtrials.com is from Washington, and webcyclery.com is in Oregon
  5. I'm super happy that this video has been so well received! I think the style that I edited it comes from that fact that growing up all I did was watch COTrials, FTC, Nopogo videos and the like As others have said, Jack's riding is just insane and to see it all in person is a totally different thing! I'm hoping it gets people excited and out on their bikes just as those above mentioned videos did for me when I was younger

Watching this has just put such a HUUUGE smile on my face!! I have such good memories of being out riding with you and having a blast. I know how frustrated and defeated you must feel since you weren't able to do the 100 clip video that you were planning, but I still think this is a little gem that you should be proud of When we get old as f**k and aren't able to ride trials bikes anymore, I'm sure you'll look back on this video and have fond memories too of all the fun times (and laughs! as evidenced by the video ) that happened while filming this, and that's far more important than it being that "one time you didn't make that 100 clip video". p.s. The ambient music + the nothing but the hub sound = magic!
  7. You should get in touch with Rick Koekoek http://www.rickkoekoek.nl
  8. As I know it, there are still a few riders that are going to be going there on the weekend (including me). Should be a good time!
  9. September 15-16th, Radical Bikes link to tartybikes
  10. Pretty sure he's also still the most shredded trials rider at 36.
  11. No offence taken! I actually really wanted to edit the footage properly too, but it was really difficult due to the mix in quality of the footage + lack of footage for certain parks. The footage was also really old and we've all improved a lot since then so it was hard to get enough motivation to try and edit through all the obstacles. I figured this time I'll just get it out in a raw edit and not make the same mistake of waiting too long again Thanks for watching though!
  12. Jeff Anderson, Ross Winsor and I went to Europe last year to ride in the UCI Albertville Trials World Cup and UCI Trials World Championships. Along the way, we also visited a bunch of trials parks in France and Italy! The footage is actually almost a year old now (I seriously tried to make a legit edit of this trip at least 3 times), but in the end gave up and settled on making this raw footage release. I hope it's still a pleasure to watch given all of the above!
  13. Get them from MEC. Loving my Danny Mac five tens, going to buy another pair when I'm done with these (I got them when they just came out). Just because it says "stealth" it doesn't mean that the rubber is the same. You can check out all the five ten compounds here: http://www.fiveten.com/explore/technology/bike/ Its basically the same crap where continental doesn't distinguish between their different blends of black chili... Davos is the worst sole ever (I have no idea how they were so popular in the early 2000s) I had some vibram ribos and liked them, then had them resoled twice with five ten rubber. The uppers lasted me a while!
  14. The high rise jitsie carbons are pretty flexy... I wouldn't get them unless you're really light. A local rider has the Clean carbon too, and they feel great (I'm on the bovine breath bars though, so I'm used to the low backsweep).
  15. He's talking about the British Pound £ vs you talking about the pound sign #
  16. Always cool to have another local rider! You should come out and join the rest of us sometime.
  17. The problem with that one is that you have to take the cranks off to tighten the lock ring if it ever comes loose. I have this tool: http://www.superbiketool.com/prod4.asp?menu=3&cid=2&pid=4 Only cost me like $14, works flawlessly and comes with the crank bolt tool too.

Just curious, does the new Arcade frame clear the Hope/Inspired bashring combo now?
  19. For the 2005 HS33, you just have to pre-emptively cut off the panels and they last a lot longer. They seem to still be the most leak-proof/reliable lever there is. I personally have high hopes for the trialtech levers, but I'm not going to go and recommend something that hasn't even come out yet. Other new unreleased levers to keep in mind: Jitsie, Clean, Hope (I'm assuming these will be reliable too, judging by brand alone)
  20. honestly had a good laugh from that one. massive riding from everyone!
  21. Yeah, any given week there are 3-4 group rides going on. Make a post in the Facebook pages Felix mentioned above
  22. I had those clamps with Magura slaves on my Crewkerz with no slipping problems. Like Mark said, make sure everything is squeeky clean and make sure you grease the bolts and the frame properly.
  23. In English Bay, Vancouver, BC Canada. Glad you liked it!
  24. Jeff is super fun to ride with! There will be more to come once the weather gets nicer (seems like it was a one-day thing when that footage was shot)
  25. Enjoy! (and watch in 1440p)
