  1. its for odd balls like me who ride with 24/7 dark angel 3 pieces on trials bikes lol. + the five bolt is the standard for the largeer bashrings that people use on downhillers and such these days. so i guess they keep the smaller 22t etc sizes going aswell.
  2. Onza martin Im thinking of heading over to TQ saturday lunchtime, Is there much to do in paignton? im not to good with the area. ive seen a couple of bits near the college but thats about as far as i venture into paignton lol
  3. The picture above is the exact same bashguard i have! Are there any modern day equivelents out of interest?
  4. you can get the 5 bolt chain rings easy. the middleburn 22 tooths on tarty are just the job. the trick is finding a bashguard that it will attach too. In actual fct if the bashguard fits the chainring and is full surface (no holes) i can easily drill a hole for the crank bolt. problem is these days they all seem to be screw on's etc so finding a bashguard that just slides onto the BB as a snug fit will be hard going. the one i run at the moment stil works its just ever so slightly bent and you get a slightly tighter spot on the chain. Mabye heating it and beating it flat with a rather large hammer will do the trick lol
  5. Right im trying to find an old style bashguard (bash ring) which i can attach the front sproket to (22 tooth sproket)but fits to the bb by sliding ontothe bb and attaching to the drive crank with a bolt. the cranks and bb are 24/7 dark angels. i could probably bear having an 18 tooth on the front if needs be ill just need to get a 14 tooth for the back. the one i have now is like ten years old and slightly bent. Its an old dmr one so no idea of the name. edit.. i should say it's like a middleburn with the sprocket attached apart from it obviously doesnt have the middleburn universal fitting thing and would need a bolt hole to attach it to the crank.

    Headset Wobble

hi i just put a steel thread from the bottom of the forks up through the headset cap with a couple of nice lock nuts (this was not with your headset) problem solved for me. i used to have my headset loosen by like 1mm but you notice it sure as. p.s i dont recommend this method butr it worked for me. no more wobble and just a tiny bit more weight. If anyone else has a more conventional way to fix it, take there advise lol
  8. google street view is great for lookin at trials spots llol
  9. Ah rite i see. If i had known cligga head was in cornwall i mite have ventured down lol
  10. Well i went plymouth yesterday, riding was good! but no other riders around, i keep hearing how everyone goes to plymouth, they must have all been away yesterday lol
  11. you forgot ... and money lol If i had the money id have a street and comp 26 and the same 20 inch lol
  12. Yeah i had to laugh at the bmx bandits bit!! That trials stage was a bit wobbly lol
  13. Ah no i missed it, now ill have to watch britains got talent on +1 aswell lol (returns to his sad saturday night lol)
  14. if there are no other riders in your area it gets very boring but if you can meet up with peeps and learn off and be in competition with its not so bad. thats the problem i have in my area. specialy when you live in such a crap town for trials obsticals lol
  15. yeah they have a plastic area where the nipples attach lol their a pain in the arse with the limey frame though as they are only 29mm and i have to overfill my maguras for them to work properly lol cant buy a fatter rim though without replacing cranks as my dark angels are realy strait and make contact with the magura cylinders on the back if i move them out to fit a wide rim lol bodge bodge bodge for me lol Nearly forgot about my bike weight. turns out my bike is about 12.5kg i weighed it on some fishing hanging scales lol Im actually surrised considering the parts list..... Onza Limey 3 frame * Onza Fall guy Forks (i snapped 2 sets of alloys doing front hops and got these complimentary) lol * Sun mammoth fat rims (Front and back)(i think they were made for downhill lol) Hope pro 2 in the back * 24/7 Dark angel 3 piece steel forged cranks (heavy lol) tyres try all sticky stem trial tech - bars onza flat carbon finish *drive train (single speed with old dmr bashguard) hs33 maguras front and back. COnsidering 10kg is considered about average im not that worried now about getting lighter parts until these eventually break. Im not comp riding at the mo so im not worried about being at a disadvantage but if i do start i may just buy myself a complete 20inch. P.s just have to work on my technique and a little bit of power/strength
  16. If anyones out in this area drop me a line on here and we will sort something out. Im still waiting to hear from other riders so im not 100% sure were i will be yet.
  17. he didnt bend his legs on landing to absorb the fall so his legs just bounced on the pedals lol
  18. ill report back later with a weight. It funny though with me because although i want a lighter bike i just dont feel safe no matter how smoothly i ride on anything less than my dark angel cranks lol If i had a sponsorship deal that included free part replacments i might not be so worried lol
  19. whats the average weight for a decent (comp worthy) 26 inch trials bike these days?? i wouldnt say my bike was heavy compared to a standard bike but compared to a nice spec trials bike i fear it is. Unfortuanatly you will now ask so how heavy is it??? lol well right now i dont know but i will weigh it soon. I ask about weight so i can compare it to the average. My main problem is i always choose strength over weight when chosing parts in the past. now my riding is getting smoother i feel i can compromise... as i think weight is starting to hold me back a little bit. list of major parts is as follows.... Onza Limey 3 frame * Onza Fall guy Forks (i snapped 2 sets of alloys doing front hops and got these complimentary) lol * Sun mammoth fat rims (Front and back)(i think they were made for downhill lol) Hope pro 2 in the back * 24/7 Dark angel 3 piece steel forged cranks (heavy lol) tyres try all sticky stem trial tech - bars onza flat carbon finish *drive train (single speed with old dmr bashguard) hs33 maguras front and back. the parts with * next to them are the ones i fear are heavier than average.
  20. gota love blue pallets lol been years since i went riding with andrei, he was awesome then never mind the crzy shiz he and others can do now lol
  21. to be honest ive been using 4 bolt mounting for years now and personnally would stick with it if you can ount the brakes that way. using the U bracket and QR parts i dont realy see the benefit of as they just add a little more weight but no extra function unless undoing your brakes quickly is a must have? also im not sure if there is a way to mount quick release version onto forks with no V brake mountings?
  22. First off if you dont have the Qr version with the horse shoe bracket you require forks with this type of brake mount..... http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/custom/forks/large_ashtonfork3.jpg which is were the four bolts attach to the forks.
  23. the four digit numbers are the code for the type of alloy/metal used. im not sure which are better / worse if that helps.
  24. yeah sounds good. ill probly be out this weekend at some point. Usually got a motor available if you wana meet up with the guys from brixham.
