  1. Weight saving yes, but the components should be plenty strong enough. Rear cable length is spot on, front cable is temporary. Saddle is an Eclat Complex, unpadded. And I'm bloody loving it!
  2. Welds are rather good considering the price. Compared to some of the pictures I've seen previously, he's obviously getting a lot better. I do intend to change the pedals to black or silver, however I'm waiting to knacker the bodies on these as I want to re-use the Ti axles
  3. Cheers for the comments chaps As for the tubing - standard Marino stuff, didn't spec anything light weight (frame is over 5lbs easily). Tyre - running 50psi and it seems great so far, no problems to report and no punctures. Front V - spot on
  4. Ah did you get some then? These bikes NEED the 2.5" bars, bunnyhop>float Stick with them they win
  5. Well this one doesn't have gay squidgy 25 psi tyres like "someone" I know 50psi minimum or lose
  6. So, here's my Marino 24"... Pics from phone so rubbish I'm afraid. Quick spec: Inspired geo King Middleburn Thomson Ultimates Ti bolts on everything blahblah Comments welcome as well as any questions for budding Marino buyers
  7. I'm going to check Halfords tomorrow after work, but would be great if I could find somewhere online just in case!
  8. I want to buy a split link for my KMC/Trialtech Z610HX chain, but I'm struggling to find where to buy one from. There are loads of split links on ebay/google shopping but I can't pin down the one for these chains. If anyone has a link to where I can buy one it would be greatly appreciated! PS - this isn't intended to start a debate as to whether or not I should run a split link!
  9. Search Wellgo MG1 on ebay. There are plenty on there with Ti axles for around £59. The axles on their own were more than that last time I checked (in the UK). Koxx etc. must be making a packet if people are actually buying the same pedals for £100+
  10. I ordered a BB from them yesterday, came today Very impressed. And yes, it comes with bolts.
  11. LOL I'm getting a reputation... I would recommend not saying you are up to the challenge until you are fully aware of what the challenge actually is. As for Bristol... Avoid Waterfront/Oceana/Syndicate Check out dontstayin for Motion/Dojo/Timbuk2/Native/Tube/Lakota.
  12. If it's any help, I'm using an FSA Platinum DH (73x128mm with a spacer for the 68mm shell) on my '08 Dob Stock frame with no problem.
  13. Brings back memories... I remember our little crew all used to run Crud Catchers, just because we saw them on the Martyn's bikes!! We never went near mud! BB Rise? WHAT? My XC frame with £20 chromo forks was so low at the BB, my pedals hit the ground when I went round a corner haha Anyone remember when Powerpro's were called Sidewinders? Used to round off the tapers no matter what. One of my mates snapped a pair in 2 hours!! But still, I miss those days more than anything, trials is absolutely nothing like it used to be. In a sadistic way, I wish for a year or two trials could revert back to that era... I wonder how many riders would quit, not having all the lovely shiny bits we have now?
  14. Clem you weapon, where have you been hiding? Bristol is still on the map you know, and yet... where's the visit? Come on get it together you slag
  15. Yes mate, really enjoyed the vid, some really nice techy lines with some slugtastic moves thrown in Will prob see you in Bristol soon Good work
  16. Woo it's out, yay for Rowan! You know my feelings on this, as I was there camera in hand for most of it but anyhoo, excellent pro factory vid, looking forward to spending many more HOURS/DAYS/WEEKS behind the (new?) lens you massive hero. I owe you 1x Apple visit
  17. I've had my clip on there several times. Sent it about 4/5 years ago. Took about 6 months from sending the tape in, to receiving a cheque for £250. It's also been on You've Been Framed "100 Funniest Moments"! Was trying to gap from the arm of a bench to a bin, got hooked up on the arm and went straight over the bars. Was a horrible stack but the payment eased the pain lol
  18. Lol please don't say it's that easy! I've found this a lot with my migration to mac, some things are so simple to do I completely overlook them! I'll try it out now
  19. Right chaps, I've just got my mac up and running, and was wondering if there is a way of importing .url files into Safari? I basically exported my Internet Explorer favorites into a folder, thinking I could just whack them on the mac and have all my old bookmarks, but this isn't so... Safari uses .html instead. Help much appreciated!!
  20. Lol I've done a few drops a shade over 3 feet on it To be honest I'm getting on fine with it, maybe coming from a background of riding old XC frames years ago for trials, the DOB just feels ok to me... The fact it weighs so little kind of counteracts the flex I think, it certainly hasn't affected my riding in a negative way at all!
  21. All good ideas... But my idea for the bike was to get it as light as possible, without having to use the power tools! (The exception being the rear rim). As far as flex goes, I have noticed it flexing more than say my old Control, but not so much so it's detremental to the ride. I am quite light myself so that might have something to do with it.
  22. Believe it or not I had to take a scalpel to the tyre anyway... Rubbed slightly on the frame under hard pedalling
  23. Cheers for the comments chaps Max - I'm looking around for front tyres, just finding something lighter than the Tryall that isn't a hard compound seems tres difficult Used a grinder first, tidied with a Dremel and file
  24. Yeah I'm thinking potentially a Tryall hub in the near future... Alloy nips maybe... After that it's pretty much a few grams here and there I would have thought.
  25. Been thinking how it could possibly be lighter, without getting silly with weak parts... I don't like front freewheels, and to be fair when I worked everything out, the difference in weight was tiny (I saved a fair bit changing to Ti bolts on the King!). Also front disc to a V possibly... But not for me. Any ideas post them up!
