  1. I have maggy blacks on the front and the grey ones on the back - here They are about 2 years old each, (previous owner bought the bike second hand and ended not using it and left the bike in the shed so the compound is kinda old...) In 2 days, the maggy greys have go so low that I cannot physically get the maggy caliper close enough to the rim so the brake holds! Got the trialtechs on order for the back, the maggy blacks are fine up-front on a smooth rim
  2. Cheers Mark, just the answer I was looking for! Would've gone with TNNs no questions asked if I had the monies! Thanks WIGAN also, fancy donating me the tenner for the LGM's
  3. Cheers! Unfortunately that's a little more than I'd liked to spend, saving for a car atm! How do the heatsinks compare to TNN?
  4. In desperate need of some new pads, bought a new rim with a med/sharp grind on it and it's ripping the perished factory pads to shreds! Spotted the Trialtech Sport pads on Tarty and the description seemed to match what I am after, just wanna know what they're like, anyone got a pair? I'm running on a 19" Onza Alex, maggy hs33 06 or 07's and some no-named pads which are very old and 'dry' Cheers

    Not A Good Day!

^ That's the one! My mate says he has one somewhere so will give it a go, if he doesn't then WD40 and some man power will have to do, just don't want to damage my bb or the crank arm

    Not A Good Day!

Thanks for all the replies guys! I'm still stuck with both but I've had a go at hammering the crank with no luck, apparently there is a tool out there that can 'pop' cranks off without using the push method, will do some research! With the sprocket, I realised he hadn't tightened it but I was just a bit miffed that he almost made it seem like my fault the chain tool broke! Anyways won't be supporting them anymore I tried the chain and vice method again, this time with my dad - no luck, what's this triangle method you're on about, mark? Solution to the money problem! Sell my guitar and other things I never use! Thanks again guys!
  7. New frame and rear wheel arrived today thanks to Toastie, was a lovely sunny morning and decided to get to work on getting the new parts up and running. Also the tools I had ordered arrived, BB tool and crank puller, which is where the problems begin... I foolishly bought the ISIS crank puller and not the square taper so I completely destroyed the thread on one of my cranks, not cool! So I gave tarty a call and see if they'd refund/exchange it, they said I could post it to them and they can then judge if they can resell it, which is fair enough! So I gave up on the cranks for now and moved onto taking off my rear wheel and sprocket to put on my new wheel, got the whole wheel off, took it to the vice with some old chain and went to undo it as instructed on the tarty website, problem is the chain slipped in the vice and completely chewed up the grip blocks in the vice (hoping dad doesnt notice)! Gave the local bike shop a call and they said we don't have any chain whips in stock but we can use the warehouse one if you bring the wheel up, which I did. The stupid man in the workshop decided to turn the chain whip the wrong way and tightened it unti the chain whip broke, making it impossible to undo the sprocket.. nice one! So I bought a square taper crank pull and came home to take off the driveside crank arm. TL;DR - New frame and wheel, no money for new parts, crank arm with f*cked thread and an unmovable sprocket so can't put them on new frame What do you guys suggest I do? Cheers
  8. I've only been riding a moth or two but finally got the hang of pedal upping and hopping. I found I was trying to do too much at once! Start off just hopping, 2-3 hops at a time and slowly gain more balance and increase the amount of hops. Rocking didnt work for me either so I piled up some wood in my garden, put the frontwheel on the wood (about 1.5 - 2feet high) and leant back did a hop or two and then rested the wheel on the wood again. Keep trying that and then do more and for longer etc... worked for me anyways
  9. Looks nice! Could do with some nice black cranks though!
  10. Got this exact problem, mainly when I bunny hop or side hop I get a click/tink fromt he BB/crank area, but if spring up and down off of the cranks they click too... 4 week old BB and 2 week old cranks all well greased and tightened! However my rear wheel is also "wobbling" But the noise come's from the front. The rear wheel hub makes a knocking noise when I spin the rear wheel in the air freely!!! PS - my last BB broke when the noise started to creak rather than click... Go careful, I managed to snap the BB bolt/axle clean in two
  11. nice mini! Bikes alright too
  12. Looks very 'stocky' for a mod
  13. Cheers for the speedy reply Revolver! I just measured up my bike and i've got an extreme offset from my cranks to freewheel, so much so that the chain hit's the top arm under the brake mounts! Think I'm gunna get those parts ASAP! PS. Great video, very clear, precise and punctual - made things a whole lot simpler for me, +1
  14. I've currently got a 24T sprocket at the front, with standard onza rip 2009 cranks and an 18T freewheel on the back, and I'm wondering if I bought some cranks with a thread could I move my freewheel to the front and put a 12T sprokect on the back? I'm looking into these parts; Cheers!
  15. Interested in Echo tr 170, what's the procedure with payment and delivery?

  16. I've started riding again yesterday after months because I managed to snap the bb bolt clean in half... I'm new to riding and bought and Onza Rip 2009 off a friend who had stopped using it since he got a new bike! My new BB is the Because square taper 128mm and i've got the stock, middleburn cranks with 24T on the front and 18T freewheel. I've noticed that the BB itself "clicks" after i stop pedalling, only once or twice but i'm worried it's bending or something else! I also found that due to the length of the axle, and the nature of the middleburn cranks, the sprocket and freewheel are out of line and results in the top loop of the chain to rub against the frame. Could this be the reason the BB "clicks" ? I have looked into getting into new cranks and screw on sprocket but can only seem to find 22T on TartyBikes, can anyone suggest other sites that could offer 24T sprockets at an affordable price? Thanks, nraged! PS - I have magura HS33 brakes in major need of bleeding, is the magura bleed kit a worthwhile purchase?
