  1. P.s in response to the hospital quote .. If your scared of getting hurt.. This sport isnt for you. Take up painting.
  2. My opinion (as requested).. Throwing money at clothes, shoes and bikes dont mean sh*t... Just means youll be that bit more dissapointed whenyou fall and ding your frame. Or rip your tights. And having a nice frame that makes you not want to push yourself is the stupidest idea ive ever heard. You want a shit frame you dont mid dinging so you will push yourself.. But then again if you want to spoil yourself.. Buy a koxx sky 2, and i look forward to your first video of you learning how to pedal kick and dropping off kerbs. SHA-TING! Rant over..
  3. An expensive bike wont make you a better rider. It helps.. But its mostly upto you and your skill. I know a couple of people who have waaaay cheaper bikes than me and theyre twice as good as me. Get a nice 2nd hander for £500 ish on the forum. Save a few grand.
  4. Ive got some 24" spokes. Black hopes with silver nips. X32. I think it was 2x non disc side and 3x disc side. £7 posted?
  5. Please dont. No-one cares
  6. Wtf... Im not sure if im being a nob or just saying what everyone else is thinking. But what an utterly pointless and stupid thread to start. Again.. Correct me if im wrong. ... What a joke.
  7. if you ordered it monday and it got there thursday.. It didnt come from china. End of.
  8. just use WD40.. all you have to do is whip your wheel out, use a rag with WD40 on it. then when your done clean it with suds and then re-grind your rim before putting it back on. how would using WD40 affect your brake? aside from leaving your wheel in and going mental spraying WD all over it. guarantee WD40 works..
  9. i have a pretty sizeable vice from like the 50's, made of cast iron i think. anyway its still going strong after yeeears of abuse. they just dont make things like they used to.
  10. ^ well thats not neccessary or relevant. But yeah i am also curious to find out why dave33 hares tarty so much? Also curious to see how many orders he has had with tarty and how many other trials retailers he uses.. Also, kinda wanna wanna know what his bike looks like.. Cos if he dont use tarty because of some mysterious vendetta then his bike must be some sort of frankenstein machine madefrom a mish mash of modified xc parts
  11. The issue WAS with tartybikes. They are the ones who bought and sold on the bottle, they are getting the profit. If i sell you a frame on the forum, and it turns out to be cracked. The problem is with me, not echo.
  12. yeah but frames dont come pre-lobbeb at a wall, and tubes dont come pre-punctured. this bottle seems to come pre-cheapandleaky. its only £5 or whatever, but if i buy a water bottle i dont expect to get wet everytime i have a drink. it all comes down to the old saying.. "buy cheap, buy twice" anyway im glad he got a replacement bottle, however it will probably leak, he will probably also have to shell out for a new more expensive one anyway.
  13. well it will deffinatley weaken it. by how much is anyones guess.. i would probably ride it if it was a small hole no bigger that a 5p.
  14. Ok so i have 2011 mugura slaves on an echo tr lever. Aparently the echo levers leak.. I have had the brake for ages with royal blood bleed but as i didnt have any i did a water/antifreeze 50:50 mix bleed. Where do the levers normally leak? Just wanting to know where i should look or what i should look out for
  15. Any recommendations? 3in1 didnt seem to work. Ill try some castrol spray lube later but i havent got anything else really i can use.
  16. heres my bitch, fixed gear, custom fluro paint, no logo wheelset, i need pedal straps though. LOVE the green wheels of JMCD's bike up top! tempted to get my rims powdercoated
  17. just as some extra info.. 4mm allen key will fit M5, 5mm allen key will fit M6 6mm allen key will fit M7 and so on... and the x 25/ x45 the 25 or 45 etc relates to the length of the bolt in mm.
  18. kinda, i had 2 syringes hooked up to it, then a hose at the lever leading into a bowl. then pushed the syringes simultaneously. i did exactly the same on the rear and it works bang tidy. Im pretty sure its a slow piston, but have tried all i can and its done nowt to help. then i started to get frustrated so decided to cool down and ask for advice lol.
  19. might as well learn it.. its not exactly rocket science
  20. Right guys, I just put a hose splitter on my front brake to match my rear one. ive put the brake on but one of the pistons is still slow. and sometimes it barely moves on one side. it was running a royal blood bleed, but ive literally just water bled it so its not a swollen seal. ive tried to clean out the piston with WD40 & toothbrush followed by 3 in 1 oil lubing. anyone got any ideas how i can get it working better or clean out the piston?
  21. to wc99wcc.. try all sticky rear, kenda small blok 8 front, front magura (will need new forks) front non disc hub, lighter cage pedals like try all single cage, lightweight front tube, welterweight rear. that should save a kilo or 2
  22. why the bottles? it just cheapened an otherwise ok video.
  23. yeah you can tell where the paint hasnt got behind the nipples properly..
  24. Best way to save weight is to buy better bike parts..
