Is This Disc Okay To Use When Grinding A Rim

i think pretty much any disc would work if done properly by someone who has experience with angle grinders. as you have absoloutly no idea how to use one laurence i recommend starting off with a normal metal cutting disc & wear goggles. as dan2707 has alraidy said.. if it goes wrong its gonna be really unpleasant. -

Ooh f**k laurence if you really dont know what your doing ill come round and teach you, problem with that disc is that it has cutouts and i you catch it on the side of the rim it may cut a chunk out your rim, or the grinder may jump out your hand if your not holding it tight enough. Just wait till next weekend and ill show you... -
the hose.. yes. not the fittings though, you'll need an olive ans a shroud nut.
-
but it might be ;D. all you gotta go is pack it back up and take it to the post office. mail man does the rest lol. don't settle for second best mate, I wouldn't put a poor quality £75 rim on my bike. its worth a shot to see if you can get a better one. if not then at least you tried.
-
If your not happy with it why not just return it? You never know you may get a better one.

1/8 Top tip of the day: if you look at the chains that are on tartys it will say "advised for single speed setups" ... Which you have Clever this whole google thing

so it pretty much sounds to me that most of the high end pads are going to be pretty much the same. or as litte difference that it doesn't matter. quite a few people have said that cousts are amazing. so i may end up giving them a go when my pads are dead. do they come CNC backed or just plastic? the only bad thing i can say about my LGM's is that when i ride in the rain, my grind goes all black and dirty and my brake isnt half as good. but after a pad sanding and rim grind theyre great again. just cant be arsed to grind my rim after every few wet rides.
-
ok so i tried searching the forum but i cant really find what im looking for. so sorry to be the bellend to start another pad thread. im running TNN LGM's on the rear. (CNC backed) and a nice medium/harsh grind. my brake is great at the moment. however... is there anything better than the LGM's? i see theres coustsinks, belaey and be-green.. anyone used LGM's then moved to any of these? im a beleiver if it it aint broke dont fix it, so i wont be upgrading till my pads are completely gone but just wondering if there is actually anything better?
-
cos thats what i want . looks good. might get the rims done too as im abit of a flash twat. powdercoating is alright but is really thick and im not keen on the finish. paint is ok too but will chip easy. EDIT. oh you may have meant make a difference to the BB etc. no it wont make a difference. anodizing penetrates the metal i believe like a tattoo. so not changing the size of anything. paint and powdercoat obviously coat the metal.
-
nope haha. ill probably sand, mask and spray in the summer. prob go black or green.
-
that looks awesome! out of interest how did you get it done? rattle can job whilst taping up the BB? or did you remove the BB? i want to change the colour of my echo 24 so badly. they look way too common in silver.
-
im the same. all echo 24"s are boring silver. i wanted to get mine anodised but the BB being a push in is the only thing stopping me.

ive found that the best way to get foam grips off.. (ive done it hundreds of times) get a 2mm allen key and run some fairy liquid down it, jiggle it into the end of the grip and just push it round (may take a little effort) then the grip should just slide off. when its off.. wash out the inside with a toothbrush and hot water to get the soap off.. then your good to put it back on again. you probably wont reach all the way into the grip with the allen key but a bit of twisting will pop it off.

gutted, this isnt as funny of a thread as the title made out to be. and yeah.. hub spacing

sure you havent got a 19" rim. someone literally posted the exact same problem yesterday and turns out they had a 19" rim not a 20". the wheel being un-true wouldnt make the tyre come off, so sounds like your tyring to run a 20" tyre and tube on a 19" rim.
-
problem solved looks like. new tyre and you should be fine.
-
sounds like you have a 19" rear rim and a 20" rear tyre. That would be the problem. so.. new 19" tyre maybe?
-
is it a rear wheel its popping off? cos mod rear wheels are 19" not 20". also are you running a ridiculously low pressure?
-
ok so we all know that 26" forks with disc mounts can be used on a 24" bike etc.. so my question is can a 26" disc frame be used with 24" wheels? or will there be a big gap between the tyre and frame etc? carl.
-
urm.. what i would do, is sort your brakes out first. maybe meet local riders to get help setting them up and stuff.. then when theyre sorted try to learn rear wheel hops and trackstands, its gonna be tedious but when you get these you can move on, youll have to work on your balance and stuff. also you could learn how to pull nice endos and maybe work towards 180 endos.

dont go for the onzas. theyre cheaper for a reason. echo lites are awesome, real nice riding frame and nice geo. bit too short for my liking but a very popular bike. depending on the parts you may have to upgrage/trade though, echo pedals, bars and sl forks usually break, and the echo brakes are shit apparently. ive never liked onzas personally, think theyre shit and heavy.
-
its weakened your rim and made it look a f**k load uglier too. but for the 10 grams you saved its definitely worth it! hahaha
